As always, we also have a discord for hoggit over at http://discord.gg/hoggit which you can use for chatting with other members of the hoggit community. And don't forget to check out our wiki at http://wiki.hoggitworld.com

Hoggit Training Server runs a training MP mission that runs 24/7 that's focuses on training up the newer folks (just like this weekly thread). Every DCS module is available in this mission, and there are numerous ranges to test your skills at. There are frequently knowledgeable folks around to answer any questions you might have, or show you how to do what it is you're looking to learn. Anyone can join, even if you've never stepped foot in a MP session before.

If you're interested in teaching/instructing at hoggit, please poke squinkys on Discord!

Server is be named Hoggit - Training Map. The password is hoggit1fw. SRS will be available at tnn.hoggitworld.com (it should autoconnect, but if not, use that). Come in, have a good time, learn a few things and teach a few things.

The only rule is Do not teamkill, unless the other party is a willing combatant...ie: you can dogfight if you find a partner...just don't shoot down some random A-10 trying to learn how to land.

Please review our FAQ on our wiki before posting here: https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/Frequently_Asked_Questions

I purchased IL2Korea, and while good it seems like generally considered a flop in the community with not many people on at a random given time. that being said what game has the most active community flight sim wise?

Home cockpit design help

Hey guys, I've recently gotten into 3d modeling with CAD software (Fusion 360) and I wanted to make use of my new hobby and go ahead and make a semi-realistic cockpit for the JF-17 for DCS.

I've found the ModelViewer2 app and I've taken screenshots of all the panels that I want to recreate, but I haven't found a way to calibrate them to the real life counterparts. Do you have any tips or any dimensions (rough is fine, this is a fun build, not a pro one) that I could use to calibrate the screenshots and make the parts fit in with each other?

I know not everyone likes AI…

But I just got to dogfight a MiG-21 in Jane’s F/A-18, in VR. On a Windows 10 pc, using my X-56 hotas and rudder pedals. Vanilla 1.01 not TSH.

It’s still janky, and bad, but my 15 year old self is pretty stoked about this.

I got ChatGPT to figure out how to get it to run on my pc, get it to work with my hotas, and told it to try to get VR working, and we’ll, it’s off to a good start.

i spent so much time looking for the exact right solution for what i wanted that when i found what appeared to be it i didnt even think to check if it was VAPORWARE????

apparently it exsists is the worse thing. i suspect it was a cash grab from the start and the 6dof that was promised was the entire farce.

all i had to do was try and download the software before i entered my credit card too and it would have been in my face, 404 error on the app, but the merchant page still functions great!

have to wait for it to clear before i can dispute. by the time i get that back im using the fun money which is what it will be at that point since i wont be expecting it back for who knows... to just buy a damn trackir or grassmonkey idk.

all i wanted was a hat solution that didnt suck since i hate wearing my headset and always have a hat on anyway

QUESTION AH64 fixed?

Was it fixed? I got it in the sale after putting it off for ages because of all the negative reviews on flight model and it being too hard to fly.

It seems OK to me, easier than the Huey even. Was it fixed or am I missing something?

I think we should use AI a lot more in the game.

I recently looked at different ai voice models and I was positively surprised at how good they sounded , and I thought , why can’t the devs just add this as a realistic ai atc , or realistic ai tanker crew , or awacs and so on ,look at msfs they use ai as atc (eg. beyond atc) so why can’t we ? Imagine a awacs and tanker crew that each have separate voices and accents based on the region , or where the aircraft is from , that would be so immersive. Are there any plans on adding that?

DCS Looking for help with creating missions in DCS.

I'm new to DCS, ~130 hours of flight time. I have a hard time sticking to one thing so I've been bouncing back and forth between the F-16 and F-18 and love it all.

I am to the point i want to start doing missions. I have both Caucasus and Syria, and have messed around with both DCE and Retribution for creating random missions but they both have the same problem. I can't get the hang of flight timings, flying in formation, and that stuff.

I watch Growling Sidewinder and like the way his missions are, hes a solo pilot with mission to hit a target. The timing, turn points, that stuff doesn't matter. I know he sets it up in mission editor, but im wondering if there is a better way to go about it.

Through the Inferno was great for learning, and getting the hang of things, but it doesn't feel alive. Stuff like F-15s providing air support while im running an important DEAD mission. MIGs getting scrambled specifically because i was seen by EW sites. The missions made with DCE and Retribution have that, but again, the need for specific turn points and flight timings i dont like.

EDIT: For clarification. I am not asking for how to use mission editor. I am wondering if there is a tool to create dynamic missions like Retribution or DCE that doesn't plan the player's mission around waiting for the correct time to strike. Or maybe I am missing a setting in those editors that will bypass that.

I know that to truely enjoy things I need to learn the mission editor and make my own dynamic missions, but I feel like after 100+ hours of learning to play the game I would like to play the game for a bit before learning something else.

Title: DCS World Crashes or Reboots My ThinkPad E16 with an External RTX 5050 eGPU

Hi everyone,
I’m having persistent stability issues when running DCS World with an external GPU setup and would appreciate some help troubleshooting.
My setup:
Laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad E16
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 155H
RAM: 16 GB
External GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 8 GB
eGPU dock: USB4-compatible, 40 Gbps
NVIDIA driver: 617.42
OS: Windows 11 Pro
Game: DCS World 2.9.30
The issue:
When playing DCS World, sometimes the game crashes to the desktop, while other times the entire laptop suddenly restarts. The problem also occurs with low graphics settings.
Troubleshooting observations:
DCS logs contain DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED (0x887A0007).
The crash report references GraphicsCore.dll with exception 0xC0000005.
Windows previously reported Code 47 for the RTX 5050, although Device Manager later showed “This device is working properly.”
nvidia-smi recognizes the RTX 5050.
CPU temperatures reached approximately 102°C during gameplay/testing.
Questions:
Could the eGPU dock, USB4 connection, or PSU cause these crashes and sudden restarts?
Could the CPU temperature be contributing to the instability?
Would connecting an external monitor directly to the RTX 5050 help?
What is the best way to isolate the cause: GPU driver, eGPU connection, power supply, thermals, or DCS itself?
I’d like to identify the root cause before buying any additional hardware.
Thanks for any advice or similar experiences!

So far my experience with the MiG-21, having picked it up this Autumn sale is going splendid. Cold War Germany is also an amazing map.

Yes, I am alive in there.

DCS Trying out the OH-6 with Mouse and Keyboard controls

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Can't use my VKB NXT for a while so I found a way to use my mouse for flight controls. Cursor for stick, scroll for throttle, side buttons for zoom in/out, and side scroll wheel for rudder. Already got used to flying jets, so I decided to try something a little bit more challenging. I've got a lot of axis tuning to do for this one!

Almost 9 years in, LOGbook (free DCS career logbook) just got a big update

Thumbnail

I’ve always liked keeping track of my progress in flight sims, and the DCS logbook is not exactly state of the art, to put it mildly. So almost 9 years ago, long before AI coding tools, I started building my own. At first it was just for me, then I thought: with not much extra effort I can share it with the community, even if only a few people care about this.

It was meant for single pilots, but over time I figured it could be useful for virtual squadrons too. That’s a world I don’t know very well, so I did some research, and this update extends a lot of features with squadrons in mind. Someone also asked me for a Discord integration, and that’s available now.

How it works, in short:

You upload your debrief.log from the browser (it’s in Saved Games\DCS\Logs), pick your pilot, check the preview and save. Nothing to install. Every sortie goes into your pilot’s career: missions, kills, flight hours, and a timeline you can browse from the PC or the phone. For U.S. pilots, awards and promotions come automatically as your sorties add up.

Every award now has its own citation (that’s the first image): the medal, the motivation, how rare it is on LOGbook, and your own story of what happened if you want to write it. You can share it on Discord or Reddit, or save the image. If your profile is private, the link still works only for the people you send it to.

If you fly in a squadron, the squadron page becomes the roster, with every pilot’s career. Sorties, awards and promotions of pilots with a public profile get posted in your Discord channel by themselves, and the invite link brings new pilots in with the join request already sent. No server to run.

It’s been running since 2018, with around 2,000 registered users and 46,000 sorties logged so far.

I hope you like the work. Any suggestions to make it better are very welcome, especially from people who fly in or run a squadron: what do you use today to keep track of your pilots, and what’s missing? I think I can now go from prototype to release much faster than before.

DCS DCS standalone playtime meter

Is there a way to have playtime meter that works for standalone edition?
I switched from steam version (had around 50 hours), but in my logbook it says 15 hours (and playtime for most planes is just straight #S).

It says I have 8 hours in Su25sm3 when I played one mission that lasted 5 minutes. Same issue with other aircraft.

I really want to have track of time, I want to see my progress. What am I supposed to say when someone asks how many hours I got? 100-500?
