Question Wisdom tooth removal / anesthesia

I have to get wisdom teeth out this week. And I have to go under all the way. Medazolam. Propofol and fentanyl. I’ve never been put under. I’ve dealt with DPDR for a long time. But have been better lately. Any experience? Will it be okay?

I do not deal much with DPDR anymore, but I opted for the nitrous oxide (laughing gas) when I got it done a few years ago because I didnt like the idea of going fully under for an unknown amount of time, and it did not negatively affect me afterwards. My DPDR was onset by smoking weed, and the laughing gas gave me a mildly similar affect as that but it wore off 5-10 mins after they took off the mask and I felt fine, but again this was a few years after mostly recovering from constant DPDR so just my experience!

Also as a note, you can make any decision with that that you want to, you do not have to fully go under at the appointment just because that was the first option they gave you. I asked for the gas the morning of and they didn’t mind doing that instead. Hope it goes well!

Hi, I had my wisdom teeth out almost two years ago and was terrified because I didn’t know how I would react but still did it anyway. I’ve seen the ways people normally react where they have no idea what’s going on and saying crazy stuff, but I wasn’t like that at all. I knocked out when they gave me the anesthesia and then woke up when they woke me up and I wasn’t out of it at all. I was actually pissed off at the nurses for guiding me and directing me like a child (even tho they didn’t know I was literally fine and knew what was going on) and I didn’t say anything because my mouth was full of gauze. I’ve also had twilight anesthesia and it’s been fine. I knew what was happening but had no pain. Hope this helps!

I had mine removed last year and it was totally fine. I was scared too but the worst part was the pain after the anesthesia wore off. It didn’t make the dpdr worse or better kind of just the same as usual.

I had 7 teeth removed including all 4 wisdom teeth and got knocked out from anesthesia honestly it feels so fast you don’t even remember being knocked out, but when you wake up it feels nice actually because you feel relaxed and don’t have much of a care in the world it was nice. Also I’ve been dealing with derealization for 12 years…
