Deer friends
I found some youngsters when I went out walking one day.. and now they're my friends.
Any of you have cool pictures or similar stories?

hes so handsome 🥹
Been watching this legendary Whitetail buck on our land the past few years as he has steadily grown larger and more elusive. Have never seen him in person or during daylight hours, ever. Maybe this year I will.

A picture of an adorable little fawn I saw on my walk at the Fire Island Lighthouse boardwalk. I think it’s a buck (male) fawn because of its flat head shape since doe (female) fawns have round heads. What do you guys think? Comment below.

The photos are a little grainy because I took them through my binoculars. The fawn was trying to nurse at first, but that happened before I could take a photo unfortunately. They stuck around for a while, despite the rain!

Not sure if video quality will be good enough to spot this lump hanging off the left side of the second deer. What is it? A cyst?
Captured this in a garden near my (new) place. New to this area and haven't seen many deer in the past.

UPDATE 10/11: I went out and scanned the property at around 6:30 AM. Nothing. A steady rain storm moved in mid-morning and is forecasted for a most of today. It’s now just after 1PM. My wife just texted me that she saw the baby deer when pulling out of the driveway in front some trees on other side of our property. It turned towards the vehicle and then scampered into the trees/bushes that run the length of fence on that side. Just looked out the windows that faced that way and not seeing anything. The rain has really picked up. I’m not intervening, just sharing my observations.
Some context: I live in a heavily wooded area with a massive deer population. My property is just over two acres. The property has a 3 board fence (has Kevlar mesh between each board and down to ground) around it with a large double gate on the side of the house, and then another double gate where the driveway meets the street(never closed). The other side of the house has a single gate for the walkway from the driveway to back door. The back yard is completely enclosed when both side gates are shut. I would guess there are a 30-50 adult deer spread across different groups that regularly pass through or hang out on my property.
I bought the house in November of last year so this was my first spring/summer here and also, first experience with baby deer. There are now 15-20 new baby deer in the area, and we started seeing them around the end of May. We’ve been seeing them since including 5-6 that spent multiple weeks on our property and were probably born there. The moms would pop in and out but mostly the babies were alone. The babies didn’t bother us so we just returned the favor and let them do their thing. I assume they found a gate or got big enough to jump the fence. No issues.
Fast forward to today, I go outside to do some lawn care, and a baby deer walks out of a group of trees about 100 yards away from where I was standing. I’m talking a baby, baby. Spots. Tiny. Maybe the smallest one I have seen so far. It then just goes and lays in shade where it is now. Question, how was this one born so late? Should I be concerned? It’s still pretty warm here but soon will hitting 50 or so at night then even colder after that. Does this require any action on my part? No clue on this one.
