Because it's popular, approachable, has a good adaptation to film, and timed the aging up of its narrative and characters to perfection, allowing readers from a wide age range to keep engaged with it as they developed their taste in fiction.
It's not high art, but I don't think it's difficult to see why it's enduringly popular
Well, one day JKR will die, and the franchise will continue without her. It's a captivating world, even with all its problems. You may as well complain about Narnia or LotR, except this series came out at a time where its readers aged with the books AND it was modern, giving it explosive media reach that early 1900s novels could never touch. It even has dedicated theme park sections - which it got before even freaking Star Wars did (Star Tours as a standalone ride notwithstanding) and to my knowledge, is the only series that started as books to ever have done so. Since it sold so well, it's going to be revitalized generation after generation ad infinitum.
Hate JK, I get that. But you're wasting your breath and energy on the series.
I mean, be mad I guess? That's what's happening and going to happen. I'm not over here trying to make it happen lol I'm just saying there's no way it's going anywhere
Thank You! Nothing like a cis finger up my ass while I try to survive this shit show. Can't wait for all the commercials from HBO. Harry in every fucking window, app, juice box. It will be awesome.
O... kay? Not sure why you'd call your own fingers cis sis but you do you. Dunno why you're mad at me for stating facts without even giving my opinion on the matter but I do appreciate your jumping to conclusions, it's a great way to get people on your side
Not worth the energy, much like this conversation. There are better things to worry about. The fact you can worry so much about something that will literally never change tells me you have it pretty good, or else you'd turn your concerns elsewhere.
