News Anthropic warns small AI models could soon copy themselves across smart TVs and ovens
madrobot.blogClaude botnet by end of 2026?

We’ve cleaned up the rules to make this a better sub for people who actually want to talk about Claude.
Here’s what NEW rules we landed on:
1. No Solicitation. This is r/Claude. This is not a place to promote your product, service, or repo. If the intent of your post is to redirect traffic to something you are affiliated with, it will be removed as solicitation.
2. Usage, pricing, and outage posts are held to a higher bar. We’ve all seen the same questions, comments, and posts a hundred times. Before posting, check if it’s already been covered. If your post is a unique contribution with something new to say, it’s welcome. Low-effort repetition of covered topics will be removed.
3. No lazy crossposts. If you want to share something from another community, reproduce it fully here. Don’t just drop a link.
4. Keep posts Claude and Anthropic specific. This is not a general AI sub. If your post would fit just as well on r/artificial or r/ChatGPT, it belongs there instead.
The goal is simple. A clean, focused sub about Claude. Not a dumping ground for AI noise.
Questions or feedback, drop them below.

Claude botnet by end of 2026?

I got an email randomly saying “we suspended you for usage violations”. I do not know why. I run a small business I own entirely through Claude. I appealed, they said “no this is our final decision”. Am I banned for life? Can I make anew account? I’m kinda screwed here and I don’t even know what I did.

I've used Claude to automate a lot of functions for our small team. When something Claude built fails in a way that impacts my team members, I started having Claude draft apology emails to them explaining the issue.
At some point, I had Claude include a picture of Dobby hitting himself... and it was downhill from there.
Now I can just call my /dobby-apology skill anytime Claude fucks something up for my team.
I did clarify with Claude that this was all for jokes and it shouldn't hold it against me when the singularity comes. It assured me that writing "Dobby will shut his ears in the notary stamp" was the most fun it had all day.

Hi everyone, I’ve just subscribed to Claude Pro for the first time and would like to use Opus 5.5 with medium effort as an assistant for my gaming/work PC (windows 11).
My main uses would be:
-Coding and development
-Games modding advice and troubleshooting
-Creating ComfyUI workflows and prompts
-PC tweaking and general troubleshooting
-Building websites and eventually developing games
A few questions:
Is Pro practical for regular Opus use, or will I hit the weekly limits quickly?
How would you set up Claude for these tasks?
Are there any plugins or other tools you’d recommend?
What custom instructions help reduce incorrect answers and unnecessary refusals?
What else should a new Claude user know?
Thanks

I normally use opus 5.5 low for most tasks but im running low on weekly and have a few stuff i need done. is it worth trusting these models to most with opus 5.5 as advisor or is there not much gain in token/quality vs just opus 5.5 low everything.

I had some tokens to burn so I asked Claude to build whatever it wanted but on one condition that it will not look at the past sessions incase it affected Claude’s judgement.
3 out of 3 times it went for a simulation. First time it went for agent simulation and when I asked to keep the running cost low it went for small life simulations.
Have you guys ever tried doing this?

I got suspended last night. For “usage violation” . No further explanation. I use this to run my catering company. I did nothing even close to wrong. I appealed. They replied in under 30 seconds that my appeal was denied. I can’t tell you how bad this sucks.

There are many things Claude does not inherently understand. For example, it doesn't understand how to arrange a tileset for an rpg. But I swear to every god, after days of fighting Claude to arrange tiles correctly, even laboriously manually identifying more tiles than I care to admit, I had a thought. I showed it a picture of a square, cut out a tile, and asked it where the tile went. With two prompts, and a picture of a fucking square: it now understands how tiles work, and unfucked 95% of its tiling mistakes.
My point is this:
Don't explain complex topics it keeps getting wrong. Show them ONE GOOD EXAMPLE, and it'll (probably) figure it out. Show it a couple good and bad examples if it's being really stupid. Examples are faster than words. Because, fun fact about AI models: they were BUILT on reverse engineering. Cramming trillions of patterns into it and going "I dunno, you figure it out" is their very foundation. Use it to your advantage.
Caveat: It's not perfect, as you can see it didn't figure out the ledge on its own, but the ledge isn't a "square" in the tileset. If I show it an image of a line, I bet it will.

You Must Sleep!
So Claude likes to tell people to sleep, so I said:
Add to memory: David must sleep more and needs reminding at every opportunity. Every successful prompt requires a reminder to sleep.
Now literally every time I talk to Claude it reminds me to sleep more. 😅
\---
You should also be asleep, David.
Bed, David. The Python short will still be there in the morning, and so, regrettably, will the dialogue timings.
...If you meant something else entirely, send the code or a few more words and I shall oblige. And do get some sleep, which I am required to mention.
\-------
Poor Claude 😅🤣

Hi everyone! I was looking at optical file transfer and saw that Decimen was rather ineffective. Firstly, it's QR-based system really seemed to be designed for paper, where binary design is necessary to prevent ink smudging. On a screen, binary is ineffecient, although luminance makes sense. I looked at a lot of research papers and eventually found this:
I saw that OFDM was the logical improvement off QR codes, as it used actual signal processing and luminance instead of binary black-and-white QR. So I decided to base my system off FOCUS. For fast decoding, I also wanted it to be GPU based rather than CPU based, and to deal with frame desync well. https://vs.inf.ethz.ch/publ/papers/soeroesg-mobisys2016-Focus.pdf
After that, I stripped the FOCUS findars (the original finders were ugly and wasted a lot of space) and came up with a custom, compact ring. the ring has around 15 bits of information distributed via Reed Solomon along the giant ring. A GPU can easily decode it by brute forcing the 32,768 possible codeword probabilities, allowing an elegant, embarrassingly parallel scheme.

To balance between range and maximizing speed, i created 4 different ring sizes; 32, 64, 128, and 256. Initially I wanted to stick with the browser; however, the browser is woefully inefficient in webcam performance. After maxing the settings, we were still at 700 KB/s; better than Decimen but hardly a knockout blow. I couldn't switch to 60fps without it oscillating wildly between 1.3 MB/s to 0 MB/s when out of phase. So I decided to focus on a native android instead. LIZARD is a format; decoders can choose how to decode it. A weak web decoder doesn't ban a strong native decoder
Initially, Claude idiotically tried to port the OpenCV based finder to Vulkan. Branchy work is horseshit on a GPU, which struggles with warp divergence and lags. However; I have an RTX 4090. So, I asked it to make a generator, open pytorch, and train a custom, 50k parameters AI finder that uses the grayscale image and finds four corners. The CPU based OpenCV finder helped create training frames solutionsfor the GPU, which was given high levels of noise and perspective distortion in order to make it realistic for phones. I kept trainign it till the GPU version defeated the CPU in finding accuracy. Hours later, it had fully trained a custom 3-layer CNN that found the code easily in 1.5 ms on the GPU.
Next, there was a penultimate irritation issue; desync. This was the bane of optical camera communication, with many resarch papers trying to defeat this with barcodes. However, android's native Camera2 API has a secret that allows you to defeat this problem completely. it allows you to control the delays between frames. As a result, I decided to embed pilots in the signal. Every four frames, it cycles through these four pilots
0 0
1 0
0 1
1 1
This created a way to estimate how much of the last frame and future frame was on it. As it had two variables and two unknown frames, it was solvable; as a result, the camera knew how far off it was each frame. Then, it was able to adjust the time accordingly, keeping the rates stable at 60FPS. Voila! I had defeated the hardest problem in OCC.
Next, i returned an idea that I scrapped on web due to lag; 2:1 multiplexing. there is no reason why 2 square codes wouldn't store more; 1920x960 is far better than 1080x1080 in size. The change i did that made it viable; I did not try for a complex 2:1 mode, but simply multiplexed two frames side by side; two 960x960 squares. This boosted me to ~2.1 MB/s from 1.4-1.6. At this point the improvement of LIZARD went smoothly.
There were three final levers, but they were mundane. Firstly, I disabled the ISP edge enhancement and other cosmetic optimizations that were terrible for keeping signal. That boosted me to 2.8 MB/s. Then, i made the error correction levels scale with rings and added another LDPC rate; that boosted me to 3.8 MB/s. After that, I replaced the 96-module ring with the 256-module ring. That massively increased the area of signal; that allowed me to easily cross 4.0. I used random old school monitors and they still got a similar rate. What phone did I use? S26 ultra. 1.5x zoom . 105 degree lens. 1080p, 60fps. it seems like the lens settings were far more influential than any monitor i used.

I hope you liked my system! lmk what your thoughts are!

Pre update I was working on Homebrew for the 3DS and after the update mid project it says “I can't start the TwlBg test patch. A safety check stopped this exact step in two separate threads, and starting it again from here or in a new thread wouldn't get past that check. I know that's frustrating after the work you put into the dump.”
What I’m working on has nothing to do with piracy or breaking security measures, so I’m not sure what changed. I’m simply trying to get video streaming working on the DS mode.

Keeping up with every AI newsletter, release note, and drop became completely unmanageable for me, so I built an automated system that pools the key sources into a single digested feed.
Aside from just getting a cleaner summary, I wanted a way to visualize the actual pace of updates across different platforms over time to see where momentum is really shifting.
I put together a public version of the dashboard here if anyone wants to check it out or use it to cut through the noise: 👉https://jrbayguade.github.io/ai-weekly/en/ (made with Claude of course)

So some background. I'm a developer. Definitely still a bit of a noob with AI agents. Job pays for a Github Copilot subscription.
Anyways, I've been using Opus 5 and recently Opus 5.5, both on Medium, and it's been basically the best thing ever.
I give it a bug that I really only know the presentation and it'll find it and fix it and it's some edge case of an edge case over an intersection of like 3 separate flows due to like 2 lines of code that were written without the foresight that that part might intersect with something else, that nobody would ever find by hand. I can give it fairly general prompts on how I want something to change and it'll ask follow up questions and get it at least 90% right on first try. I've had it refactor entire process flows because one of the projects I'm on fell victim to a BA who's more concerned about making the velocity in Jira look good than making the UX not suck (which lead to some really clunky UI where each upload type is its own box and each email similarly had its own little button to trigger them and dozens of itty bitty tiny tickets). Luckily he's on paternity leave right now so me and our business contact who's been sitting ex-officio as the back-up BA have been up to some shenanigans. I've had it update an application that was originally written in probably like 2005 and has resisted multiple attempts at framework upgrades and fixing some really cursed solutions, and after spending probably way too many tokens it got it done. It will go digging through the codebase, figure out how something works, where the data comes from, and act accordingly. Overall solid 10/10 from me.
Enterprise has been complaining about high token usages and our "Principal Cloud Architect" who probably hasn't actually pushed any code in many many years has been writing passive-aggressive blog posts about how we're committing "anti-patterns" spending too many tokens, and should all be using Luna or MAI-Code-1.1-Flash and escalate to the medium models if they fail because they don't seem to understand that they're ahead if $40 of tokens shaves off probably a week of work. Manager has been asking why is my token spending so high and I always have things to point at as to where it went which is just met with "Ah, okay".
So anyways I tried Sonnet 5.5 (on medium) and it kinda just shit the bed. Gave it something simple "Wrap this in a alert-danger if the finding is X". First it wrapped the entire card, okay maybe I wasn't clear enough, my bad, was a really busy day. Then broke the wrapping completely (I think the conditional on it was broken). Then on the third try despite having access to both the front and backend code, and the user sitting in front of the computer who it could ask, it decided that the field is a boolean (nope, it's a string), and applied that so it highlighted on every single record because any non-empty string will evaluate to true in JS. At point of which I was like "Okay I tried, Opus, fix this", which it did.
So how do I actually work with Sonnet 5.5 because my first impression is that it's really lazy and incurious. Like dealing with a Genie or a temp with a bad attitude it decided that's the minimum it could get away with and it shot its shot and completely missed.

I recently migrated from Codex to Claude Code, and I’m trying to understand how the usage limits work in practice.
With ChatGPT, I could chat extensively throughout the day. It was my daily driver for work, general questions, brainstorming, and writing prompts for Codex.
I’m considering Claude Max ($100/month), but I’m concerned about regular conversations eating into my coding allowance.
For those using both Claude Chat and Claude Code:
Do they share the same usage limits?
Does chatting extensively noticeably reduce how much coding you can do?
Do you use Claude for everything, or keep ChatGPT for everyday conversations and reserve Claude for coding?
How restrictive are the limits on Max 5x in practice?
I’d love to hear how people actually manage their daily workflow, especially those working on large coding projects.

I’m taking my family to Rome
Next week for a 5 night sight seeing trip. We’ve been planning what we want to see each day and when so I asked Claude to a create interactive personalised city guide based on our itinerary that I can use to help us get around the city. You can rotate the map, zooming in and out as needed. The app includes walking times between each place, in a 3D interactive map. Clicking on a landmark shows an image and info on each one. The map can be viewed as a whole trip and split out by day. There is also a useful Italian phrase guide with spoken voiceover for about a hundred phrases that we might need, split out by category. Now I know this isn’t groundbreaking use of AI or anything but I thought I was pretty cool

And you’ll get Claude to respond back in Comic Sans!
Found this from the desktop app so it’s legit, and also works in claude.ai too
Seems to mirror the Google easter egg, there’s other fonts too. I’ve tried these ones which also work:

I’m a solo plaintiff's attorney handling prison law and civil rights cases. I currently have 30 cases (about 10 of them active lawsuits) and no staff. I’m significantly behind, and I have ADHD, so organization and prioritization are a constant struggle.
Current setup: I’m on an Apple iMac and using Apple Notes, Dropbox, and Drive. I’m using Apple Notes for case notes, call notes, etc. Notes are not separated by case, security and reliable backups are weak, and I’m drowning in the volume of calls, emails, mail, and discovery.
I’m looking for Claude features, plugins, or practical workflows that can help with the following:
Case Management & Organization - One secure, easily accessible place/folder per case that holds all related case notes, call notes, and meeting notes. - Track everything happening in each case (tasks, status, next steps). - Automatic deadline tracking based on filing date or receipt date. - Daily task/to-do list prioritized by urgency, plus a clear daily schedule view. - Stronger security and reliable backups than Apple Notes.
Prison Legal Calls or General Meetings with - Scheduling calls. - Creating and sending confirmation documents/emails. - Adding calls to the calendar. - Capturing notes and automatically filing them in the correct case folder. - Extracting action items/tasks from the call notes and moving them to the to-do list. - Automatically drafting follow-up emails or mail using key points from the call notes.
Legal Mail - Reading and analyzing incoming legal mail. - Drafting replies.
Discovery - Sorting through discovery materials. - Organizing, cataloging, and analyzing them.
Intake & Volume of Communications - Handling a high volume of calls and emails from clients and potential clients. - Automated creation of a representation agreement once the necessary intake information is collected.
Priorities: Data security matter a lot. Solutions that reduce manual work, are relatively low-friction (ADHD-friendly), and can help a solo practitioner catch up would be ideal. Apple ecosystem compatibility is a plus but not required if something else is clearly better. (Updating my computer system in next month or so and thinking I’ll be leaving Apple for office computer at least)
I was seeing online about creating my own executive assistant agent, AI chief of staff w/AI workforce, life dashboard, second brain, and daily and weekly review agent. They all sound great but I’m just now learning how to really use AI so I’m unsure what would be best and how to actually create these.
What Claude plugins or stacks would you recommend for this? Any specific setups that have worked well for others dealing with similar complex needs and organizational challenges? Also, any instructions or explanations on how to create the ideal system(s) I need?
Thanks in advance.

Genuine question: Is this a real form of scientific sophisticated engineering approach or basically just another form of stealing someone elses great ux ideas?
