Oh man, I haven't seen a MIR in years! I remember building a whole PC with them about 20 years ago. I had those things down to a science! Fill it out, read the fine print, photo copy it for proof, set up a reminder to call or email in 90 days... Ugh I don't miss them!

Yeah and then they reject it for no reason and you realize you misplaced your proof

Also, something of note: there is no included rgb fan controller built into the case. But the metal on this case is much more sturdy than a lot of the Okinos budget cases I’ve used in the past; and it can fit huge graphics cards. It also comes with a gpu support bracket.

Why is this making me want to buy it even though I have no intention (kinda) of building another PC?

If you are already content with your personal pc, you could always build for a friend.

Do not be fooled by the compact-matx title. This case is still 40L, which is quite large. There are significantly smaller options on the market.

It allows you to get the benefits of cheaper MicroATX boards while still allowing for large graphics cards. But that’s certainly true.

There are a lot of cases that will happily hold a large gpu in a much smaller profile. Such as the Lian Li B4, Jonsbo D32, both only $20 more than this

If you can only afford a mATX, you certainly don't have a large graphics card.

this is hilarious. I've run MATX in the past with halo cards. I prefer the smaller case profile. Hell At one point i was running SLI 1080tis on my mATX board

Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.
- Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
- Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
- The seller is new or has few reviews.
- The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
- The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).
If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.

if only i could find a deal on a good mATX board.

What platform? Newegg has some lly solid deals for B550M boards and Microcenter kills it with B650M open box stuff.

i have a B850 right now, would like to get a B850M. i haven't spent enough time reading if i even need that. i mostly just want to avoid any kind of rail sharing for my GPU & SSDs, and i want one of the better audio codecs. i use Ryzen 7 7800X3D & RTX 5060 right now. Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 MOBO.

B650 and B850 are essentially the same chipset, chipset really doesn't matter for 99.99% of people when it comes to AM5. This is easily the best deal for an AM5 mATX motherboard right now, Pro RS is fantastic: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qcbRsY/asrock-b650m-pro-rs-wifi-micro-atx-am5-motherboard-b650m-pro-rs-wifi
Your build is a bit oddly specced though, I would have rather gotten a cheaper CPU/motherboard and better GPU

Yeah I have a Tuf Gaming B650E-E with my 9800X3D (Micro Center bundle) and it's been super solid. I have felt no need to upgrade to B850 or B870, but I know everyone has their reasoning.
For my gaming and daily use this combo is great.

Yep, people really overrate the importance of motherboards. As long as you get one of decent quality that has the features you need (for most people this is like 4-6 USB ports and 1-2 m.2 slot, which many boards have) then you're fine and you will never think about your motherboard after the initial build. It's one of the dumbest things people overspend on. And as I said before the chipset doesn't even really matter, the differences between them are miniscule, like requiring a gen 5 ssd slot or requiring a USB 4 port

You could get an X870M motherboard like the Gigabyte X870M Aorus Elite WiFi7. One of the M.2 slots connected to the chipset. One of them shares a rail with the GPU, but the other one is on the chipset. The SATA connections also are connected to the chipset. Has the Realtek® ALC1220 CODEC. But it's $360.

A separate audio solution like a dac/amp combo would be better if you were specifically aiming for something greater than basic alc897, wouldn't it? r/BudgetAudiophile , perhaps something like a mtrack solo for a cheap one, also has xlr mic input if interested?
spec sheet - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NQHkDEcgDPm34Mns3C93K6SJoBnua-x9O-y_6hv8sPs/
seems like yours has alc1220 if its greater than revision 1.0, so further restricting choices... not seeing any that lane share the gpu slot, that's x870/e problem, but perhaps missed one. msi's b850m power is almost $400 on the used market(out of stock $230 from msi), and b850m edge ti max is above that... seems like a less expensive board and even above entry-level dac would be cheaper and fit your requirements.
or, i suppose msi b850m mortar wifi for alc4080? closest 'cheaper' option, around 240, seeing under 180 for used one on amazon. the mortar max is in the same price bracket as power/edge...
perhaps aliexpress/taobao/temu/alibaba for non usa marketed brands?

Personally if they are available in your country, I would highly suggest the Msi b850m power. Picked one up off eBay, it’s a monster overclocker with tons of nvme slots.

I was looking for the M5 (ATX, mesh front) version of this case, but doesn't seem to be available on any US market sites. Ended up ordering the V5 (ATX, glass front) version, currently $65 before rebate.
