Planning to get my first PC ever!

Currently I only have a headset and a mouse. Everything else will be bought new. I usually game a lot on my laptop and would like to get a good pc build with great graphics and RAM. I’m also a physics student so I will use instrumentation softwares. I also like to have After Effects and other video editing softwares on my PC. Here are the specs that I picked out, and a chassis that I really want! I’m in Malaysia and my budget is RM10,000 so this is a bit over the budget for me.. But I’ll save up for it if its really worth it! Everything will be built by the shop I’m buying it from. Price states includes assembly fees. Need help if its worth the price? Thank you in advance.

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:

  • New build or upgrade?

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

  • WiFi or wired connection?

  • Size/noise constraints?

  • Color/lighting preferences?

  • Any other specific needs?

Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:

  • Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.

  • Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.

  • We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.

Honestly, the parts are good, but I'd say it's priced for looks more than for what you do. Three things are eating your budget without helping with After Effects or lab software: the 7800X3D, the 360 AIO and the Touch Infinite case. In my own testing the X3D premium mostly pays off in competitive shooters at high refresh rates, and AE cares more about RAM and cores than about that extra cache.

If you want to get closer to RM10,000, I'd swap these:

  • Ryzen 7 7700 or 9700X instead of the 7800X3D. Basically the same for AE and gaming, noticeably cheaper.
  • A white air cooler like the Peerless Assassin instead of the 360 AIO. Quieter, nothing to leak, and you keep the white look.
  • A normal white Y70 (or any white airflow case) instead of the Touch Infinite, unless that little screen is the whole point for you.

Two things I wouldn't cut, and would actually fix. The PSU is a 750W Bronze, and for a 5070 Ti I'd want a Gold unit, 850W if possible. Also the monitor is 1080p, which is a weak match for that GPU and for video editing, so a 27" 1440p screen is a better buy later. If you move money anywhere, put it into RAM (64GB is great for AE) and a bigger SSD, since 1TB fills up fast with footage.

Last thing, the Windows is an unactivated trial, so budget for a licence on top. Before paying, ask the shop for a line-by-line price list and compare it with the same parts elsewhere. Assembly fees and white-case premiums can add up.

my view: gety a muchg cheaper case. Consider a 9070xt instead of the 5070ti, a 9700X. Pay the slight premium for 6000 memory instead of 5600
