RJ Mitte (Walt Jr) has passed 😄

Wow, I was shocked to hear this. They are saying it was suicide. So sad. He was only 34 years old. RIP, Flynn ā¤ļø

I mean he's definitely dead but this story about his suicide is just a tabloid quoting an anonymous county official. It may well be true but it feels a little early to be discussing his supposed hidden pain. Obviously some situations make the intent obvious but it could just as easily have been something accidental.

TMZ is reporting it, despite the sensationalism they actually tend to be very accurate about this stuff. They're often the first to report celebrity deaths.

They were the first to report about Kobe's death before all of the family was notified. Smh

Yeah there's a lot to criticize about TMZ. Lack of accuracy just isn't one of them, they have deep networks in police departments, hospitals, coroner's offices etc so they can get tipped off right away

I mean, just a few years ago they reported Jerry Lee Lewis’s death before it even happened, and claimed Lil’ Wayne was in a coma breathing through tubes when he had actually already been released from the hospital.

In their ā€œzealā€ for breaking stories TMZ isn’t afraid to cut corners. They could very easily have published unfounded claims about suicide, which they can just retract later on without any real consequences.

Are you saying they reported Jerry Lee Lewis’s death ā€œbefore it even happenedā€ and then it happened?!? Now that would be wild.

Yep. They reported Lewis died, a rep/agent for him informed TMZ that he wasn’t dead, and then three days later he actually did die.

They aren’t impervious but for a website that posts nothing but news all day every day, a few instances out of that probably proves their track record more if anything.

Not that I’m defending what they do, it’s gross. It’s just unfortunately very accurate.

That’s a fair point. They do produce a lot of content.

Accurate means nothing when we're talking about human life. I lsot someone very suddenly in 2020 who was only 29 yrs old. People asking HOW immediately was the most annoying thing. It doesn't matter. Especially not right now.
