It is my first game that i bought back when i bought my switch lite, i have been putting it off for so long, because of the weapon durability mechanics, discouraging me from playing it.

but it turns out, the game is surprisingly very cozy and atmospheric, the tacticle feedback of squishy water sound and the satisfying sound when getting an item, is, to me, so cozy, i don't know guys, i honestly thought that the game is just too bare bone at first glance, but there are so many little details that adds to the experience, i can't imagine what rain feels like in the game, i am really looking forward to it.

I can't help but always gravitate towards this game before bed time, it truly feels the perfect game to unwind before bed, not to mention the switch lite's sleep mode features make it so easy for me to just power it off, do my thing, and come back to the game, and voila, still have almost the same battery, that one feature is mindblowing to me. Overall, it feels so comfy to play it.

☑️ Original Content Recently achieved 100% completion of the botw rom on Cemu. Does anyone know a reliable/safe place to download more Cemu roms? There doesn't seem to be anywhere, the old place that I used to use got shut down. Thank you much in advance.

My BOTW journey so far — 210 hours in, and I still can't get enough of this game!

First of all, I can't even put into words how much fun I've had playing this game so far. According to Cemu, I've spent around 210 hours in it. (I still have two weeks of vacation left, so I've already had plenty of time to play, and there's even more to come! ^^)

I've played whenever I got the chance, and I've now completed almost everything the game has to offer. I still have a few side quests left, as well as the main quest from the DLC. Once I've finished everything, I'm going straight for Ganon to turn him into a roasted pig on a spit.

I even collected all the Korok Seeds in the end, using an interactive map because there were simply too many of them. When I finally got the reward in Korok Forest, my first thought was: Alexa, play "Let Down" by Radiohead.

Now I can really understand why BOTW won Game of the Year. It's hard to describe in a short post, but this game does an incredible job of making you feel so many different emotions. Exploring the world is an experience in itself. Being able to explore Hyrule Castle, for example, was so much fun, especially since previous Zelda games generally didn't allow you to explore it to this extent. I also love how refreshing it feels to break away from the more traditional Zelda formula.

The voice acting, which was something entirely new for the Zelda series, is also incredibly well done.

Right now, I'm struggling with the main DLC quest where you have to defeat enemies while dying in just one hit. It's driving me crazy, but sooner or later, I'll get through it! Tips would be really appreciated 😄

I can't wait to play Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity after BOTW, followed by Tears of the Kingdom!

I'll add some of the many pictures I took during my journey to show off just how beautiful this game can be.

Hope you all have a great day!

🎙️ Discussion Playing the game realistically

Hi all, first post here!

recently I've been having the urge to play this and TOTK again, and I thought I'd do it differently than just going to shrines, getting hearts and stamina, beating bosses and saying I'll do all the side quests and then getting bored.

an idea i had (which I'm sure has been done many times before) is to play the game realistically! and I'm looking for suggestions that I, and other people, can follow to (hopefully) play the game at a slower, more relaxed and ultimately realistic pace.

some ideas i already had were things like not using fast travel of course, I love just using horses anyway. I also had the idea of having to sleep at night, having to find a stable or an inn to sleep at, or a secluded safe place to set up a campfire. if I want to go through the night, I thought of making certain foods like stealth foods as a requirement, but always having to sleep at some part of the day. I think itd also be fun to have to eat at least once a day, even if I dont need to.

some ideas I was toying with were stuff like always talking to people I come across with requests, and trying to do those side quests as regularly as I could, maybe if I have over 5 or so I havent completed then I cant do the next divine beast. more on divine beasts, I'd want something in place before I move on and beat them, maybe unlocking the surrounding areas on the map and doing a certain percentage of shrines in that area to continue on.

on the face of it, I'm sure all these rules look a little boring, but I like that they're all make the game go a bit slower while still feeling like some sort of challenge. and I know I can play at my own pace whenever, I like the fun of the challenge and immersion, playing the game like its real sort of thing!

if you have any suggestions let me know! if you've done something like this before or would like to!

I ran a lot, jumped a lot, died a lot. I even forgot urbosa's fury can wipe out these guardians lol. The music was perfect for this scenario, it always makes me panic no matter how prepared I am.

📢 Opinion Which is the better game: Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom?

I'm curious how opinions differ between the BOTW, TOTK, and general Zelda communities. I'm posting the same poll in each subreddit to compare results.

Please vote based on which game you consider better overall, not simply which one you played first. I'd also love to hear your reasoning in the comments.

I'll share the results after voting closes.

🎙️ Discussion Readjustments when returning from TotK?

I've finally gone back to breath of the wild after a very long break and am enjoying it a lot. However, I've noticed a lot of "friction points" I'm feeling in terms of readjusting to botw after years spent playing TotK.

Some that come to mind include:

  • The rain! Oh my gosh, it feels like it's nearly always raining in this game (but maybe that's just Relativity at work given the lack of sticky elixirs etc)
  • Empty landscapes except at night when you get bombarded by all the most annoying enemies (keese, bones etc)
  • I keep trying to throw items or fuse to arrows 😅 been caught out a few times when I was counting on lobbing chuchu jelly to get me out of a melee mess (of annoying monsters)
  • The arrow switching. This one is actually painful. So many wasted special arrows
  • The menu navigation (keep using R and L to try to shuffle through items etc)

They're not major issues with the game or anything. Just points that I'm really feeling when trying to readjust back to this game. Also missing ascend, and the ability to move anything with ultra hand 😅 but was expecting that.

👍‍ Tips and Tricks Ancient Arrows Kill Lynels?

I learned this by accident. Master Mode makes killing these things tough. Thought I was flinging a bomb arrow out of desperation, but it disappeared into a little black hole. Good to know. I guess they disappear all non guardian creatures instantly. No drops though. Don't care.

❔ Question Windbomb question

After performing a windbomb, is there any way to instantly exit the ragdoll state? This is my 4th play though, so I been skipping a lot of shrines with windbomb, but ragdoll make me over shoot/not able to deploy paraglider

🆘 Help! Can't upgrade Sheikah set? Glitch?

Post image
85 Upvotes

Hi, just started to replay BotW after a massive hiatus (started from scratch as couldn't remember where I was up to). I'm trying to upgrade my stealth gear, but it's not showing any option for that? I have so much nightshade, sneaky snails, fireflies etc. Had no trouble with the few other armour sets I have, only the stealth gear.

Is there something I need to trigger first? Or is this a glitch? I live in the stealth gear and was really keen on getting the night speed up now that whistle sprinting has been negated (😭)

Edit: thanks everyone! I didn't have all the fairies yet. you all rock!

🆘 Help! Help me with the save file

I have a question. I defeated ganon around 100 hours into the game. I fully played the game on my laptop but now I have a handheld that can run botw and I wanted to have this game on there because I love the game very and want to explore and do other stuff that I didn’t do before. But the android emulation scene with wii u is not the greatest rn and I played the wii u version. Is there a way to convert a wii u save file to the switch version?

❔ Question Does anyone remember this challenge series?

I’ve been thinking back to this channel I used to watch years ago. They were doing a botw challenge, (I can’t for the life of me remember what they were doing) but their style of video was very particular. It was just gameplay, with text onscreen explaining their thought process. I found it very interesting and calming, as well as funny! There’s hardly any channels like that. I stopped watching because I hadn’t beaten the game at the time, and unsubscribed around when totk came out to avoid spoilers. Does anyone know who I’m talking about? I’d love to rewatch their videos.

😂 Humor My Experience in The Forgotten Temple….

I decided to take my happy self on over to the forgotten temple because I saw on Reddit that there’s a giant ancient core there. Now, I knew this wouldn’t be a walk in the park, it’s a giant ancient core for goodness sake. But I cannot express the level of absolute panic I felt when I hopped onto that ledge and the SEVERAL….SEVERAL guardians turn their heads and lasers of death in my direction. I don’t think I’ve ever jumped down so fast LOL.

But then I got brave again. I’m like you know what, I am just finally getting comfortable with parrying. I can do this!!! So I ended up killing the first few on the higher levels, and after that it was just me sprinting, parrying horrifically, breaking every single shield in my possession, and eating every meal I had made while everything on me is smoking. Mind you, this is with my upgraded ancient armor on.

I did make it to the shrine and I did end up getting that ancient core. I by some miracle didn’t die during that experience. But geez I wish I could’ve had a video of my reaction to seeing all those guardians light up LOL!!

📢 Opinion Rainbows

I’m on my 3rd play though on the WiiU. I’m about 2/3 (maybe 1/2) of my way through and while floating around the south east shores I caught a rainbow in the sky.

Somehow I’d never seen one before. I was just happy to AGAIN find something new to me. After all these years.

🎙️ Discussion Why haven't more games copied BotW/TokT?

Both games won GotY their respective launch years, and are two of the most successful across multiple different Nintendo platforms. They're cash cows that Nintendo just keeps porting to their new consoles.

Yet the only game I hear people recommend that's similar to these two is Immortals Fenix Rising. Similar cell-shaded visual style, explorable and interactable open world, different but similar feeling combat systems, interesting story set in Greek Mythology, etc.

Why haven't other studios taken this model and copied it in different settings, adding their own new creative touches to it? The open nature of it makes it a canvas for continued creativity and innovation in exploration, world interactivity, combat systems, etc.

Odd that there's just one studio that did this, but that one is proof that other studios can do it too now that model is proven. Or am I missing some others?

❔ Question Yet another divine beast order question

So each one you fight has more strength but is that when you unlock it or when you defeat it?

I’m on my second play through- on master mode.

I got to the divine beasts but didn’t have enough beats etc to fight so when I got to each ganon I left.

So now I can just warp over and fight each one but wondering if I can fight thunder blight first and it’s weaker and then go to the others?

🧩 Game Completion Hyrule Castle Tips

Hi guys I’m new to playing Zelda and BOTW is my first ever Zelda game. I’ve been playing this game non-stop for a week now and I have completed the 4 Divine Beasts alr (with the mistake of not researching and going in for Thunderblight as my first lol I had to leave and be stronger to face him). I also am done with getting the Master sword, I alr have 15 hearts and 2 1/4 stamina circle.

Now I am thinking of buying that ancient armor to prepare for my Hyrule Castle entry (to finally defeat Ganon). Is it really necessary or should I just get in? What are the other tips you guys can give me lmfao tbh I am just bad at parrying those Guardians and just really really scared to go in the Hyrule Castle. And yes I also did not research that well because the thing is I enjoy being surprised.

(And am I the only one who’s actually scared of the game I dont wanna overreact but lowkey I’m scared)

⚔️ BOSS Fight Which boss should I take on first?

Post image
97 Upvotes

Went through and solved all the divine beasts' puzzles so now all that's left is fighting the bosses. I have the master sword and 8 20+ HP weapons, along with a 8 20+ HP bows, 60 regular arrows, ~15-30 of each special arrow, and a few good shields . Prepped with recovery meals and a few defense-up meals, energy potions, electric defense potions, and enough armor to survive the cold and hot extreme temps. My max armor hp is 18 for fire armor, 26 for cold, 19 heat, 29 no special effects, and I have 13 hearts and one full stamina wheel.

Who do I take on first??

Edit for follow up question, should I try to get the most powerful weapons before to make it easier?

And I like using arrows and bows best, what arrows should I stock up on for each?
