With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.
As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.
At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.
Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.
To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.
All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.
Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.
In particular, we would like to know the following:
Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

He is currently zooming around the apartment like a bat out of hell, periodically climbing up to the windowsill and smacking on the window with all of his might

Took this photo to show off Leela's fancy front arm and hand position but then I noticed she was missing a leg! She got MBD as a baby, rear legs twitch a bit but she can't use them at all. She places and crosses her legs in the weirdest spots. We will try to untangle her and most the time she'll wind up crawling around and doing a lot of work to tangle her legs back in whatever weird position she had them in. She's a stubborn sweetheart.

So my last beardie who unfortunate had to be put to sleep because of adenovirus used to shit in the bath. So I gave him a bath every day when I got home from work. His enclosure was pristine.
My current beardie is a different story. The day he came home from the pet shop, I looked at his poo under my microscope and saw that he had coccidia. Fantastic! 😐 So I took him to the vet and got some medication to treat him with. The coccidia is very persistent. I have done literally everything to try and fight this coccidia but It just keeps coming back.
My ex girlfriend worked from home, and thankfully was able to clean his poo and sterilise the enclosure with F10 as soon as he did one. This was a big part of fighting the coccidia.
Since she left, it hasn't been much of a problem because he pretty much just sits in the corner sick with coccidia, barely eating and barely shitting.
The last week he has come good again. Very responsive and active, eating like a maniac. This means pooping like a maniac too. The problem is, I cannot clean his poo until I'm home from work. By this time, he has ran back and forth in his enclosure, spreading his shit all over everything. This means a full enclosure clean and sterilise every day.
He refuses to shit in the bath like my other beardie did.
How are you guys combating this? Surely I'm not the only one that has a beardie that likes to shit surf around the enclosure. I just know that he's gonna get coccidia again now that he's just basically bathing in his own shit every day.

Hello, Xiaoxi is around 3 months old and will go to see the vet tomorrow to get his first general health check and parasites check. I have already collected his poops for continuous four days. Is there anything else I should pay attention to?
I found Xiaoxi’s scales presents different colors even under the same lighting and basking conditions, orange with blue stripes and red with dark grey stripes. Is this different caused by his mood?
If the vet finds no parasites, I want to use sand replacing the current kitchen papers. I searched a bit and found there are two opposites suggestions. One suggests only after the dragon is older than 6 months even one year old, then the sand can be placed. The other suggests it is ok to change it even when the dragon is baby. Not sure what should I do. Could anyone share some tips? Thank you!

Getting my very gentle reptile loving son a beardie for his 5th birthday in a couple weeks. The terrarium will be in his room (it's literally the only place in the house we have space). He sleeps with two nightlights — one red and one soft white. The room is still pretty dark. I've read bearded dragons need TOTAL darkness at night. Will this be a problem?

Just noticed this message in my requests from a couple months ago. She made a post joking around about how it’s funny she found her cat on her bearded dragon after her dragon unknowingly escaped its enclosure.
I didn’t comment. Simply left an angry react.
If you don’t want negative feedback then don’t post publicly. Simple.
Public poll: Are bearded dragons escape artists? Or does this owner simply need a better setup?
I’ve not had my beardies escape once. One has glass doors one has clear plastic doors. In my opinion, this is owners mistakes and not simply due to “escape artist”. Imagine having a snake and not properly securing its enclosure. It’s the same thing. Snakes are escape artists- but there’s ways to prevent escape.

I don't allow air freshener, loud noises (which is hard when I have 3 kids under the age of 7 😅) I barely hold her cause she's a baby and I don't want to stress her out. But I really want to create a bond and I worry I am not handling her enough as a baby. Where's my happy medium? I currently feed her with tongs and I can tell she recognizes me/tongs as feeding signs so she gets excited. I'm assuming that's a good thing towards bonding. I know they don't have feelings or emotions like that, but I also don't want her to be scared when I do start to pick her up more frequently. Also terrified of her jumping off me, crawling away super quick. Basically I need someone to tell me it's ok to handle her and spray air freshener or let my kids play near the cage 😅😂😂 I very much upgraded my cage after my previous posts with new bulbs, substrate, and added accessories/removal of hammock. she gets dusted crickets as well. So I'm trying to be a tip top owner!! And yes she is currently shedding, these photos were today.
