General Question Why do you think almost every thread about the raid on congresswoman Omar's home is quickly locked?
Do you think it's censorship?
This is not a question about politics or whether you think it was a legitimate raid. This is about the way Reddit handles controversy and the current moment we find ourselves in.

Sure it's censorship, but it's not necessarily nefarious. Reddit off loads responsibility for following TOS onto the mods. Conversations around this kind of topic tend to attract fedposting to a degree that mods can't really be expected to keep up on. Too much of that and Reddit will nuke the sub, so better to lock down the post.

My view is that when you engage with their content the algorithm promotes it and more people see it. If you just downvote it gets buried.
In my view it's also better to engage with views you agree with and promote your own view as well. That way you're not just "playing defense" all the time. It's better to do things like promote and advocate for healthcare reform, progressive taxation, and ending senseless Republican wars and tax cuts for the Epstein class rather than arguing with trolls and bots who likely just end up getting trained on your responses.

I’m going to bet that the DOJ won’t release any info publicly until AFTER the midterm elections. How convenient for Rep Omar.
Then when the election is over they will grudgingly admit that their lack of evidence doesn’t prove her innocence but they will fail to file charges for lack of evidence. Of anything.

Who issued the warrant and on what grounds ? Given the stakes the DoJ should've released this info. If it went to a grand jury (doesn't seem it did) summary details should be released.

I haven’t seen any evidence that this allegation has a shred of truth to it. Unless that can be shown, I’m inclined to believe that - just like the lies about Obama’s birthplace and the “stolen election” of 2020 - this is a pure fabrication to try to hurt her re-election chances by seeding a false story intended to inflame Islamophobia just a couple of weeks before the midterm election. It has Steve Bannon’s fingerprints all over it.

Makes the DSA look bad. Mods are majority all DSA shills and the auto mods have been coded to work the same view points into their “policing”. This is why Reddit has become an echo chamber and is no longer a place of debate and discourse. Eventually the rational among us will quit and find greener pastures.
