Ableton itself has an article on buying a used copy of Live. It's important to note that Ableton has the power to confirm that a secondhand license is legitimate.

If you bought (or buy) a second hand MIDI controller that was originally bundled with Live Lite but the serial number that came with it is missing or already used up, you can apply to Ableton for a new Live Lite serial. It's not 100% successful but why not give it a try?

You can also easily obtain a Live Lite license by either buying Koala App or Ableton Note.

EDU Ableton 11 standard

Hey guys so I recently bought ableton 11 standard (EDU) but I meant to buy it through split and I accidentally purchased it at full price and requested a refund but apparently digital license can get a refund after activation. I then tried messing with the program but can’t even get the hang of it. I purchased it on October 27. I’m looking to sell it for $140. Original price was $175. I can only transfer it to an individual that qualifies for the student discount.
