USA So many stolen food orders every day I drive
Every day I do Uber Eats as a driver I get at least one food order where the previous driver stole it. sometimes even 2-3 times a day. Why hasn’t this been fixed? why are drivers allowed to cancel after confirming at the restaurant still?
And they really need to stop this account renting BS because those are the guys doing it 90% of the time.

Why? You hold all the power in getting it fixed, the issue is NOT the amount of orders getting stolen, it is the same across gig platforms. The difference is how drivers report these issues. For DD, drivers call it in, while UE drivers typically just select a reason in app and carry on.
DD stops the offers, while UE continues to send new offers until a driver calls it in NOT to cancel, but to ask support to call the store to confirm that the order is in fact unavailable.

This has been a thing for years. Search ”cuentas” in Facebook and they’re everywhere. They sell them to illegal migrants so they can work as well as people without licenses or people with records.

You are so right and absolutely nothing is being done about it. This is a safety issue among other things It baffles me and you have people defending it as well as certain jurisdictions. I guess its not surprising look at California they give people CDL licenses who cant read English

Aside the main root problem of a-hole drivers stealing the food, it is sometimes NON drivers also, in places where the restaurant just puts the food bags on a table or counter for people to grab and go also.
Additionally, restaurants need to make employees ask drivers to confirm picking up the food on the app. This simple action will cut down theft by a lot.

Every restaurant here asks us to confirm. no exceptions. Yet they are still stealing food.

I have to really doubt that "every" restaurant is asking to confirm. I mean literally 100% every single one? Again doubt it.
Look, I live in the 5th largest city in the U.S. in a suburb-densely-populated-hell-on-earth with every single imagineable chain restaurant. And I would say the VAST MAJORITY of restaurants here do not not not ask for confirmation.
The only ones off the top of my head that do hawkishly ask for confirmation are mom&pop restaurants (non-chain), especially chinese restaurants, and Chick-Fil-A.
Others that don't do it, DGAF:
- Wing Stop
- McDonald's / BK / Wendy's / Taco Bell / Chipotle / Carl's Jr / Jack-in-the-Box - and every single other major fast food chain never ever ever ask for confirmation
- Even full-service / sit-down / wait-serviced restaurants like Chili's, Applebees

My market is Denver with a high proportion of account renters, and yes the restaurants here are extremely aggressive about you confirming the order before leaving. Every single one I kid you not. some hover over your shoulder until they see the confirmation and won’t let you just show the map screen because account renting drivers use fake videos of confirmations and stuff like that.

There are people who do Uber Eats just to eat. The pay is so bad that there is more value in stealing massive meals than earning the $2 with a removable shit tip

Yep. When I get home I call and ask to speak to a supervisor and then turn on doordash while im on hold. Still making money while I deal with support
