USA I have never felt so disrespected as a customer in my entire life…

  1. Driver admits stealing my food
  2. Order marked as delivered without the code
  3. Takes 4 days to reach support
  4. Support hangs up with no remorse
  5. Email from support says “they can’t confirm the order was never delivered” despite the driver never getting the code I was to provide them and him admitting it in the messages

Tech companies act so innocent in marketing but they’re wolves in sheep’s clothing. Zero accountability or justice will come of this even though I would imagine that this is illegal and I just got scammed.

Safe to say I initiated a charge back and closed my Uber account though. I just hate the fact that they get away with this probably so often.

Real professional support agents btw lol

This needs to be your wake-up call to just stop using these apps. They do not care about the customers, the drivers, or anyone besides their shareholders. These companies are a plague.

19

u/Modern_Misdoing 2d ago

If you read the post, you’d know that OP initiated a chargeback and closed their account.

2

u/Single-Calligrapher5 15h ago

It doesn't negate that the incident happened

11

u/Brief_Intention_5300 2d ago

While this is likely true, let's not forget that for every one of these horror stories we hear about DD and UE, there are 1,000 that happen without any issues.

1

u/Several_Vanilla8916 2d ago

When everything works perfectly you get an ice cold Big Mac meal for $24.

2

u/HeyCarrieAnne40 1d ago

But would cost even more to pay a can or even a "friend" to take me to get my own food. I have seizures so I haven't had a DL in 15 years. So for people like me, paying a bit extra on these apps, is still easier and cheaper.

0

u/Witty_Bend5121 2d ago

show your math

2

u/HeyCarrieAnne40 1d ago

I've been using DD since 2019 and have only had a couple minor issues. I use it pretty heavily when I'm sick or have just had an operation or procedure. They have always given me a refund, with no trouble. And I have never had a major issue with a driver. Maybe I'm just lucky IDK. Not aware of the stats but that's my personal experience.

u/ItsTheEndOfDays 2d ago

I’ve never had an issue.

1

u/MissMerrimack 2d ago

Just curious, as I’ve seen this and being disabled cited a lot, but what did you do before these apps existed?

1

u/WorldlinessUsual4528 2d ago

Please stop being this obtuse, it is embarrassing.

1

u/SiLeNZ_ 1d ago

This is how we respond to people asking questions now?

1

u/MissMerrimack 2d ago

How is asking a question being obtuse? These apps haven’t been around forever.

2

u/Fit-Statistician4882 2d ago

You’re not being obtuse. This is Reddit. And these types of apps attract a certain type of people. I understand where you’re coming from but they won’t admit it. Don’t let the internet ruin your Sunday.

You need to hit em up instantly, if you wait they just deny. Hit up your bank to chargeback and delete uber eats.

Um. “Due to being excessively overweight”??
Was she calling you morbidly obese?
Was she saying she was super fat and couldn’t walk the distance from her car to your door?
Was she saying your order was too heavy?

I’m unsure, they said disability and their PFP looked normal weight so I’d imagine it was too heavy. But it wasn’t heavy at all. So yeah idk

23

u/PickleBall_Champion 2d ago

Keep going to support until you get a phone call. I’d keep fighting. I’ve done that before. F*** Uber Eats

8

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

I forgot you could call, maybe I’ll give it a try for shits and giggles

11

u/PickleBall_Champion 2d ago

And they expect people to give up. Even if it’s $1, don’t let them keep it

1

u/beck1826 2d ago

I was on hold for 2 hours and spoke to a customer service agent after my order was missing 5 out of 8 items, but only got offered a partial refund. I asked to be escalated. I did file a complaint with the BBB and did get a $25 credit the next day. The BBB is usually useless, but I gave it a shot. Could have been a coincidence that they finally responded to my requests for a bigger refund.

1

u/PickleBall_Champion 1d ago

Make to monitor your GST (sales tax). Normally, they refund you all minus GST cause “that’s how their system works”. They’ll automatically give the GST back if you contact support plus extra.

1

u/beck1826 1d ago

Ohh thanks! I’m on a war path and am ready to go back to battle! The most difficult customer service ever

1

u/bambi54 1d ago

I searched Ubers higher ups emails and then emailed them. I was pissed, I was missing an $9 item and they refused to refund me. They never replied, but suddenly I got an email saying that it had been refunded. I have no idea how you even called, I couldn’t find a working phone number to save my life.

1

u/beck1826 1d ago

I kept yelling at the AI help chat to let me speak to a real person. It gave me the option of an online rep or the phone. I tried online and never got connected. This is the number the chat gave me: +1 (800) 253-9377. This was last week. I’ve read that they stopped the phone calls a few months ago, so maybe it is back! Still worthless though. The rep wouldn’t give me a case number or any other emails/numbers to follow up on my escalation. I sent a million messages to the online chat and got a script from ChatGPT to set up a paper trail of incompetence for my potential chargeback.

They force you to act unhinged over $9! I salute you and your persistence!

1

u/bambi54 1d ago

I’m sorry too, I hope you get the refund soon. It’s the most infuriating experience I’ve ever had with a company. I don’t know how a company is allowed to operate without a method of taking and escalating complaints. It doesn’t feel like it should be legal.

1

u/AnotherCup-O-Noodles 17h ago

Literally how do I get a phone call or number? I have been unable to place an order for over a day now, no matter what I try it just errors out and I have $200 in uber cash that I’m unable to spend

1

u/PickleBall_Champion 12h ago

Google sometimes has it or request a chat. Then ask the agent for a phone call. Sometimes the app lets you schedule a call as well

12

u/spockers Car 2d ago

"Arpitha" is just another session with the LLM. You were never talking to a human being.

13

u/Harpo0n 2d ago

I just deleted the app, I placed a pickup order through uber eats and while I was chareged and it said the order was being prepared when I arrived to the restaurant they had never recieved the order in their system. So I just order with them there and payed out of pocket after being on hold for hours and trying to get it resolved through support they never gave me a refund and just ran me around in circles. Literal theft.

5

u/quagmirranseye 2d ago

Why would you ever order something for pickup through ubereats? Youre still paying their markup, just call the restaurant.

5

u/Curious_Way_4496 2d ago

Because some cards give you monthly credits. Some people don't want to pay 10+ extra for delivery and tip. Sometimes food is cheaper or there are better deals on the app. Many reasons.

3

u/Harpo0n 2d ago

It was a last resort, there was no price difference, phones were busy, and their website is old school without an online ordering button, perfect storm of shit.

1

u/eugeneugene 2d ago

I've done it before when I've had a gift card. When my son was born we were gifted so many food delivery gift cards lol, this way we could stretch them out further not paying for the actual delivery part, even though I'm sure the point of the gifts was so we didn't have to leave the house 🤣

1

u/Environmental_Net_97 2d ago

Not always. A pizza place in the NY metro area by me only does bogo pizza via the app and it’s way cheaper.

1

u/Formal_Evidence_4094 2d ago

i have done many times when it is cheaper with promotions.

1

u/quagmirranseye 1d ago

Nice, whenever I get promitions like buy 2 for 1 its always an increased price so 1 cost as much as 2 usually does but they make it look like a promotion lol.

1

u/Formal_Evidence_4094 1d ago

Yeah that is why you compare

3

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

Sounds about right 😭

13

u/musicwithmxs 2d ago

While you’re at it, file a report with your state’s Attorney General’s office. You have evidence of everyone you spoke to. One report might not make a difference, but multiple might actually get them in some legal headaches.

3

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

Was considering this

12

u/Enough-Dot-2080 2d ago edited 2d ago

Y’all are going to soon learn lmao. If you’re being treated this way as a customer, imagine how the honest delivery drivers are treated. This is why I stopped all that delivery shit years ago and focused on my career…

5

u/AtlanticPoison 2d ago

It's crazy that they (they meaning the Uber process that I pay for) make a mistake and then expect you to drop everything on your calendar and spend what typically takes a very long time to report the issue to them. It's like they completely forget that we pay them for convenience and to save us time. It's their mistake, yet they expect the customer to absorb all of the cost in reporting and rectifying it and try to make that process as hard as possible

8

u/Stevey-P 2d ago

I have absolutely no idea why people are still using services like doordash and Uber. Just stop using them.

5

u/Additional-Agent9737 1d ago

Nobody posts about the thousands of orders that are completed properly

1

u/cesspool4us 1d ago

No, but there journalist articles with facts proving how this company is predatory and serves only to enrich the owners/shareholders than it is to actually provide a quality, or hell, a service at all. They put restaurants on their app that didn't want to be on it. Don't matter how many good dashes that happen. Company is rotten from the button up.

3

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

Get a $10 promo from amex and I try to use it on nights I’m working late hope that’s okay with you and all the other high and mighty Redditors who claim to never use the app yet are so active in the Reddit communities dedicated to the app…lol

1

u/BlockStrict579 2d ago

Please stop being racist in the comments.

1

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

I don’t have the R word pass :(

2

u/moronicteencunt 2d ago

As a redditor i give you the pass. Give em hell.

2

u/South-Gate1924 2d ago

Seconded. Let it rip.

-2

u/Stevey-P 2d ago

No not really. I'm not high and mighty, just clued up. There seems to be a lot of sub reddits dedicated dtonusing these apps and receiving horrendous service. The fact is the companies are dog shit, they take you for an idiot and they take their staff for idiots. I have never used any of these apps and it's very easy not to. I get everything I need from a weekly shop and if I want take out I phone the branch directly so they use their own drivers. It's remarkably less expensive and better for the business, and it builds up more cohesion with regular customers. You're using and funding known parasites and bitching about it when they fuck you about. It's borderline mental illness in my opinion. Learn to cook, use take aways that are local and do delivery themselves, shop better. Be smarter maybe. If I used a service simply because I had a promo if never get off my fucking email, I'd be skint.

2

u/codefinity 2d ago

Agreed, mostly. The only time I used Doordash by mistake is when I ordered from Papa John's in the next town down, and they apparently were using this company. 👎🏾

1

u/Bennyboi1232 1d ago

lol all these people in here downvoting you and saying they’re not gonna read a few sentences. Not surprised they continue to use the app seeing how clueless they seem 😂

1

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

I’ll pass on reading a wall of text rn homie but thanks anyway 🙏

-5

u/Stevey-P 2d ago

Wall of text. Wow. One paragraph. Low IQ then. Says a lot.

2

u/aSyntacticParadigm 2d ago

You're one paragraph should actually be three of them to be readable. After "take their staff for idiots" you should have started a new paragraph. And then after "building more cohesion with regular customers" you should have started a new paragraph.

Once it's broken down into three logical paragraphs to improve its readability based on the shifting focus of the thoughts, it becomes a much better statement.

Because 95% of the orders go off without a hitch.

1

u/PurpleRayyne 2d ago

because I know how to fight with them to get my money back or at least a credit. been doing it for almost 10 years. in the early days of uber on central long island, there used to be a "long pick up fee" if the car came from more than say, 2 miles away. Why the hell should I pay a "long pick up fee" because uber allows drivers 5 miles away to pick up a ride? It's also not my fault a driver 1/2 mile away didn't pick up the ride. So, the app always said something like, "all fees are reflected in the upfront price" or someting.. it's been a long time since they finally stopped that BS. Well, you guess it, NOT ONCE has a "long pick up fee" been in my "up front price". NOT ONCE. every single time I got one I would fight with them to get it back and I always did. It may have taken multiple reps, (one time it was 14 different reps in ONE message) but damn it I got my money back! lol
Yes I wanted to be lawyer at one time , a long time ago in a land far far away. ;-)

0

u/Several_Vanilla8916 2d ago

Actual insanity. Just keep a couple frozen pizzas in the house for emergencies.

1

u/Lusbuzz 2d ago

Not really insanity and I rarely use these apps for various reasons. The quality of food you can get delivered to your door basically 24 hours a day that’s better quality than frozen pizza is pretty insane.

0

u/PM_ur_butthole_2me 2d ago

OR you pay a bunch of money, don’t even get your stuff, and your refund is refused. It’s a waste of money and 99% of orders are just people who don’t “feel like” going to get it. People somehow got food for centuries before these predatory apps came around

2

u/LeadershipOne5870 2d ago

Coming to say i’ve doordashed food countless times and have not once ever had any issues getting my order… and these “predatory apps” give people jobs. My favorite restaurant only costs like $3 more to order online than go get in store, for $3, I will enjoy my time and home and get other things done while my food is being delivered!

0

u/Lusbuzz 2d ago

Uh because people are lazy and these services work 99 percent of the time? I wish people would stop using these services for environmental reasons and how the gig workers are paid/exploited but the fact that you can get food of any type of cuisine basically 24 hours in any major city delivered to your door is pretty wild.

0

u/Environmental_Net_97 2d ago

Just because it doesn’t make economic sense for your time and money doesn’t mean it isn’t for others. It’s ok to move on you know? No reason for it to bother you this much. You can simply walk away guy…. It doesn’t have to consume you as much as it clearly does 🤣

1

u/ReserveLow3494 1d ago

The only person who seems truly bothered is you....

0

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

1

u/eric2341 2d ago

Oh I can…I think you’re full of it with regard to that part of it 🤷‍♂️

1

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

It’s okay to be cynical online but if youre just cynical without cause than you’re probably insufferable to be around.

0

u/eric2341 2d ago

Is that screenshot supposed to be proof of something? lol

And I plenty of cause bud- “the app would just load forever instead of connecting me”? Lol this just screams made up….sorry just being honest. You should have forced the issue the same day or next day and you’d have gotten your refund.

5

u/ItIsGoingGoingGone 2d ago edited 2d ago

Wrong Eric. I've had a similar issue. Continuous contact from time of delivery does not guarantee anything. UE will say they are escalating and to await a response. Then they close the ticket. You immediately respond on day two then they drag this out past two days so they can deny you.

OP is obviously being honest and perhaps you work for UE (contractor or employee) or are just a dick. Latter makes sense.

Edit: corrected "same" to "similar" for my girl Erica.

2

u/eric2341 2d ago edited 2d ago

I disagree that he’s obviously being honest about the app not connecting. Don’t care what you think either.

And what’s hilarious is you said you had the same issue then you detail a totally different story than his lol- what same issue? He said his app wouldn’t connect for 4 days

1

u/ItIsGoingGoingGone 2d ago

OP contacted support at least on October 8. The final rejection was October 11. My issue was "similar".

-1

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

oh yeah your def one of those guys who think the moon landing was fake and the earth is flat lol def not bait just low iq

stop using ubereats and doordash. i delivered for both of them but rarely ever used them to place an order. placed an order with doordash about a month ago for my ex and the food was not as described and he could not eat it. i reached out for a refund immediately, they gave like a $3 partial refund. i tried to submit a ticket to request a full refund and their system blocks you from doing so because your initial request (the partial one) is still being reviewed. i checked every day for an opportunity to submit the refund request and it wasnt until 2-3 weeks later that the system finally let me but then the rep i got told me that i had to submit a request within 3 days of the order being placed lmao. like hello, i tried but your system prevented me from doing so. they refused to give me a refund through my original payment method and only offered credit so i finally did a chargeback. driving for ubereats and doordash is a great way to make money if you know the tips and tricks while providing quality service but i personally would never use them for delivery again.

2

u/Brief_Intention_5300 2d ago

Just judging from my own experiences and people I've talked with, in person, about the job.

But I don't get it. So many people hate this job, say how terrible it is, don't make any money, and say they get taken advantage of....but they continue to work for them and show up in these conversations. Show your math on that one.

2

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

A lot (not all) of the people who deliver food as their primary source of income do not fit into polite society. They’re antisocial and lack ambition. This is where they take their anger out on customers because they don’t make enough and blame it on tips. Just my consensus.

0

u/Brief_Intention_5300 2d ago

Yeah. That's a good point. I don't know if they take their anger out on the customer as much as they just suck at working in general. But there are definitely a lot of good ones out there.

0

u/IgotWurmzz 2d ago

I disagree, doordash and uber eats brings out the worst in people because the pay is so low, they are incentivized to steal food because you only get punished for it after like the 30th time

1

u/trishapafisha08 2d ago

This would be my que to dispute it with my bank and then never use them again.. it shouldnt matter if it took you over 48 hours to get threw. Letting someone continue to work on their app who carries themselves like that that is horrible and should not happen.

1

u/30secondnewaccount 2d ago

Credit card chargeback, delete your Uber Eats account forever. It sucks, but that’s the only reasonable thing to do

1

u/Sesoru 2d ago

I dont think you even got a real person.

1

u/et_videntis 2d ago

I just want to clarify. Was the driver meaning that they were too overweight to deliver the food or that you were too overweight for them to give you the food? Kind of an important distinction for context

1

u/Dry_Somewhere_7188 2d ago

I ordered food about 3 days ago and waited for about 30 minutes and realised my driver collected my prefer then hasn’t moved from a block of flats, ok weird but let’s see what happens. Another 30 minutes has gone by and it’s not showing he hasn’t picked up my order but still hasn’t moved from the block of flats. Wanted to cancel it but was told my support I’d still be charged for the order in full.

An hour after trying to reach a real person I finally gout through and they basically just offered to cancel my order with no charge or give me £5 credit and continue with the order. I obviously cancelled it and was never given an explanation as to what actually happened, I definitely think the driver stole it lol he read all my texts and declined all my calls

1

u/AcanthaceaeFlimsy952 2d ago

At this point just file a charge back with your bank and be done with Uber eats.

1

u/Got2bglued 2d ago

I stopped using uber and switched to grubhub. It’s significantly cheaper to get delivery and their support is significantly better. I order from gopuff who’s owned under uber and uber completely tanked gopuff 90% of my orders are also wrong I gave up

1

u/VehicleNo6581 2d ago

For future reference, if you send a message treatening for a charge back if you dont get resolution, they will often reimburse you.

1

u/HeygentCooper 2d ago

Her husband was your driver

1

u/ItIsGoingGoingGone 2d ago

Uber will throw the 48 hour rule once they ignore your first attempt for resolution on the day of delivery. They will even say they are escalating your first request so they keep you on the line until they close it 48 hours later. It's 90%+ likely they won't address your issue, no matter how obvious and provable.

1

u/Professional-Tie3595 2d ago

After the first 24 hours just dispute it with your bank

1

u/Splitzie101 2d ago

I wish more people would dispute charges when things like this happen instead of accepting it. People are way too comfortable with other people's money

1

u/KarmaEnterprise 2d ago

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it now, and I’m sure I’ll say it again soon. Food delivery is a SCAM and anyone who still falls for it, is a complete sucker. FUCK UBER EAT/DOOR DASH/GRUBHUB DELIVERY DRIVERS.

1

u/aSyntacticParadigm 2d ago

The thing is you can't be excessively overweight and do Uber Eats, you have to get in and out of the car. Once you pickup and get where you are going sometimes you have to walk a bit, sometimes go up multiple flights of stairs, shop and deliver you have to do all the grocery shopping and then you have to take it to their front door. Their front door is not always a house, sometimes it's on the third floor , sometimes they don't have an elevator. You can't be some big ass and do this job.

1

u/nyc_bliss 2d ago

Tf did you order

1

u/Sniper_girl12 2d ago

A year or so back I got double charged for a large order made for the family and usually it refunds right away when that happens. I rarely used food delivery apps but I knew that Uber sometimes charged the original costs, then the original costs plus tip and after a day or so the original charge dissappears. I noticed a few days later that I was still charged $112 twice so I contacted uber and they flat out denied that I was double charged even after I showed screenshots from my banking app. After a week of trying to resolve the issue I called my bank and issued a charge back. That was the last time I used a food delivery app

1

u/Impressive_Ideal_798 2d ago

She did not gaf lol . Dispute the charge

1

u/Phillyblues21537 2d ago

I completely stopped using DoorDash because of this. There would constantly be stuff missing, or it would be the wrong food. Literally every time I order, there’s an issue. and they won’t refund me. These apps are way too expensive and an absolute joke. Half the time you order from them, your food is wrong or missing. I gave up that on them a long time ago.

1

u/Impressive_Ideal_798 2d ago

Can you show the chat were they said they were overweight?

1

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

I wish lol I don’t think there’s a way to find message history from orders

5

u/ntecccc 2d ago

why was that not instantly screenshot?

1

u/PurpleRayyne 2d ago

keep contacting support. until you get someone to help you. use your anger about not being helped to keep going. At that point it's the principle. at some point you can try threatening to sue them for the money back, including the court fees and for pain and suffering.

However, look for the order ID before the next contact. Do you have proof that the driver admitted to stealing your food? give them that too. Make sure you tell them the driver never asked for the code but it was marked delivered. did they send you a pic that it was delivered? give them that too. Give them ALL THE INFO IN THE FIRST MESSAGE. Don't break it up into multiple messages, it'll take too long and they will just give you their copy/paste replies.

That said, I just got an instacart order tonight and while everything worked out and i got my order, the picture of the delivery was almost a mile away on the main road AFTER it was delivered. IDK how the heck that is allowed. If an order does not have a correct pic (and there should be location attached to the pic) then they should have the amount of the order deducted from their pay. (in a perfect world lol).

u/AdrianValistar 2d ago

Almost as bad as "We need pictures of the food that was not delivered." Have had that happen before a few times. Sure. Let me go take a picture of an order that doesn't exist as in it is not in my house.

1

u/kindasortaish 2d ago

had a very similar issue, response was so inhuman I said ok, and deleted my profile from uber and the app, haven't used it since

1

u/AlternativeFacts101 2d ago

Really? In your entire life?

1

u/codefinity 2d ago

Safe to say I initiated a charge back and closed my Uber account though. I just hate the fact that they get away with this probably so often.

Good.

1

u/QwertyIGuess 2d ago

Chargeback!

1

u/DirectEfficiency8854 2d ago

Was this driver a former aviation instructor or pilot? "Damnit Striker, I can not land due to being excessively overweight."

I must say - this is an Original excuse to use!

1

u/AdImmediate8706 UE Driver & Customer 2d ago

Drivers have to wait 8 minutes before they can mark it delivered without the code. Did you request the code or did Uber just give you one? UE will assign codes to customers sometimes.

1

u/GlumExperience5336 2d ago

I've faced this scenario from Uber Eats AI and offshored support repeatedly. It's stunning they can get away with this.

1

u/NoBottle3526 2d ago

I do hope the chargeback request is accepted. Unfortunate that these situations occur.

1

u/DranTibia 2d ago

Here's an idea, radical one. Make food at home

1

u/TheRedPeafowl 1d ago

Uber eats is such a dog s*** company. I had a similar situation tonight where they wouldn't refund my order after I had video proof of the driver just driving right by and not attempting the delivery. He just drove to our location to get the waypoint and then left.

Finally canceled my Uber One and deleted my account. Doing a chargeback as soon as it posts too.

1

u/dunkinbikkies 1d ago

This is why I have never used Uber eats...

1

u/Effective-Ad-7292 1d ago

Support is useless. Outsourced support that barely understands enough English to identify your keywords

1

u/Comfortable-Sky-4859 1d ago

you're talking to a bot

1

u/ComprehensivePlan741 1d ago

I deleted all the delivery apps. I always put "hand to me" because I live in a complex, even though its not a difficult one. The food never got to my hands or my door. I got tired of fighting, so I just stopped giving them my money.

1

u/bradley-g2 1d ago

As a customer, I really prefer DoorDash over Uber Eats. Resolutions are usually quick and painless. It's never taken long (let alone days) to reach support.

1

u/sonarsar1 1d ago

You have to ask for a supervisor, I’ve had these sht heads do similar things and when they say they can’t help immediately I say I need to speak with a manager even when they try to say they will say the same.. once it’s escalates they have always fixed it.. bc fck all if im being charged for a meal I didn’t get.. also sometimes we are ordering late at night and don’t want to deal with 2 hours of this bs

1

u/TheFunkytownExpress 1d ago

Call them this time and ask for supervisor

1

u/dinemu8 1d ago

I’ve had the same experience with Uber Eats London. Their drivers also cheat and lie to customers. Uber never take responsibility. I waited 3 days to get a response about a driver who handed me a wrong order. He also lied that he was given a wrong order by the restaurant. Uber Eats asked me for evidences after I have given them 3 reports. Refused to respond back and they keep you waiting days. This is despite me being a Uber One customer for years. I am quitting them this week.

1

u/Stormblessed_1987 1d ago

Can't deliver due to being excessively overweight? Does that mean he ate it? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Hungry-Town-7847 1d ago

Why’d you wait 4 days though?

1

u/HeyCarrieAnne40 1d ago

"have we resolved this issue,?" OMG fuck off!

1

u/Lokiiieee 20h ago

Uber is an evil corporation and we need to be protected from it .

1

u/Holiday-Guard7553 15h ago

Uber Eats is a narly business i don’t give those derelicts my $$$ business any more i like Wonder it’s amazing and if u do a review even without a photo they drop u a $3.00 credit

1

u/Single-Calligrapher5 15h ago

This is just one of the MANY things that AI is doing to screw up UberEats and everything else in the world🙄I've had multiple customers who let UberEats use AI to get their address and yes, they got the address wrong! I attempted delivery only to find out customer says it's not their address. They say UberEats provided the address per GPS. All deliveries botched giving me (driver) bad ratings and orders canceled. I totally believe UberEats did not reimburse the customer for these. AI is NOT working in SO many ways. Too much too soon and it's always wrong 😞

-1

u/Exclave4Ever 2d ago

You know you can email 24/7, to at least prove your story is somewhat true and you made any attempt at the time of failed delivery???

You are acting like a child, "my app won't load", and 4 days later decide to do something?

Naw, grow up, learn the lesson, don't be an idiot

3

u/candyman430 2d ago

I emailed. Talked to an AI bot. Messaged with a live agent and even talked on the phone with someone who agreed with me. Nothing worked. It’s theft. It’s happening just cause it hasn’t happened to you

3

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

Yep same

3

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

I love how the dumbest people on earth always make sure to show up to add their two cents on Reddit. Appreciate the laugh though 🙏

2

u/Timely_Proof3236 2d ago

And yet you never emailed/tried to remediate/solve your "app not loading" situation for 4 days

1

u/after-life 2d ago

He's giving you solid advice, have some humility and accept that there was still more you could have done.

3

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

Oh look, another one.

1

u/after-life 2d ago

The universe made you suffer a little to teach you a lesson. You'll suffer again in the future with another business if you don't learn this lesson now.

2

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

Oh no i suffered so bad ahhhh lol i already got my money back from amex i posted here to vent.

2

u/candyman430 2d ago

So many corporate simps. Crazy how hard some will go to defend a shitty corporation that’s robbing people

2

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

Reddit is such a strange place sometimes lol I feel like half of these comments aren’t even coming from real people

1

u/after-life 2d ago

Telling OP what he could have done better next time isn't simping for corporations, that's such a black and white take on the situation. If anything, refusing to educate OP and pretending he did nothing wrong is actually pro corporation because if you don't educate people on how these corporations work, you're going to have more people make these same mistakes which will further benefit these corporations.

Educate yourself or suffer.

1

u/candyman430 2d ago

OP clearly states they immediately tried to remedy this. Just as I did. Literally called, emailed, and talked live to an agent.

1

u/after-life 2d ago

You literally keep pushing on that same day until there's a resolution. You don't wait 4 days.

u/after-life 2d ago

Venting is still a form of suffering. You suffered enough to want to share it with the public to get validation to heal your inner wounds from said suffering.

1

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

my asshole itches rn too is that also considered suffering?

1

u/after-life 2d ago

Yes, it's an acute form of suffering. If your ass was itching all day and wouldn't go away, your ass will be on Amazon looking for anti-ass itch cream.

1

u/PickleBall_Champion 2d ago

Keep going to support until you get a phone call. I’d keep fighting. I’ve done that before. F*** Uber Eats

1

u/NoDoubtItsStefani 2d ago

I would just dispute the charge on your card and then contact the Better Business Bureau. Like not kidding at all.

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

[deleted]

1

u/NoDoubtItsStefani 2d ago

Right, my point to that was after I disputed my charge they tried to lock down my account. After filing a complaint to the BBB my account was magically unlocked.

I unfortunately have to use Uber for work. I travel a lot and we are only allowed to expense back specifically Ubers, no other ride share app.

So, seems like they care a smidge.

-1

u/Signal_Appeal4518 2d ago

Just do a chargeback and quit ordering Uber Eats

u/yaedonnn 2d ago

Similar thing happened to me on toogoodtogo. They gave me the guilttrip “it would be unfair to the vendor”. Aka they don’t want to pay for the refund because their app malfunctioned and didn’t notify me my order was ready. The vendor was chill and told me to just buy from them directly from now on instead of through that app. And they mostly use that app for advertisement.

0

u/Zmbieznya89 2d ago

There has not been a single time out of the 15 times I've used ubereats that they have gotten me the correct order. I get. That's not on them to ensure the order is accurate and that falls on the restaurant. But it seems to only happen when I order through them.

0

u/JuniorCow3640 2d ago

What else did you expect out of Uber? You are dealing with a psychopathic company. Dispute the charge with bank/cc and delete the app.

0

u/--VoidHawk-- 2d ago

All of these tactics, by these delivery services and also almost any other large corporate entity, are calculated methods to strip ever increasing amounts from the consumer. Long delays in getting customer service, which then is endless. Circular partial "resolutions", disconnected pieces that lock out other parts of the "resolution" process, ghost charges or unauthorized "upgrades" that keep reappearing on monthly billed accounts. Impossible cancellation procedures. "Accidental" continued billing after cancellation (if you manage to cancel.)

In many cases you can recoup the overcharges but they are banking on people not noticing, or giving up due to the time or hassle, or referring to fine print policy etc. They only need a fraction of these thefts to carry through to bank millions. They count on consumer exhaustion and plausible deniability to protect criminal policies - these things are not accidents nor incompetence.

This is late-stage capitalism at work. It requires vigelence, a plan and up-front efforts to protect yourself from the new gilded age of corporate greed.
