UK Series Inbetweeners but everything goes right

Almost every episode of the show ends with the boys being humiliated either from their own actions or bad luck.

What do you think the episodes would look like if they had the best case scenario for the boys?

For example - First Day:

  1. Will ignores his Mum and gets a schoolbag.

  2. Will doesn't belittle Mr. Gilbert.

  3. Will ditches the badge.

  4. Will doesn't insult Mr.Gilbert

  5. Will doesn't get caught taking a shit.

  6. They go to the right pub.

  7. Jay's id works in getting them all pints.

  8. Someone spots Mr.Gilbert and they manage to sneak out of the pub before he catches them.

What does the best case scenario look like for other episodes?

UK Series What would you say are "sister shows" to The Inbetweeners?

What I mean by this is shows that share actors and production staff or similar concepts to the show.

I'd say the main ones that seem to come up most often in discussion are:

  • Fresh Meat - Joe Thomas stars in this, playing a character who's so similar to Simon that there are strong theories it's just Simon using a different name. It's also probably the closest thing we'll ever get to a university version of The Inbetweeners (in fact, it was essentially marketed as that when it first started airing) even though it's otherwise got a completely different cast and the style of humour is quite different.
  • White Gold - Created and primarily written by Damon Beesley, who co-created and co-wrote The Inbetweeners and stars Joe Thomas and James Buckley once again playing characters who are similar enough to Simon and Jay that you could make the case the show is what would happen if Simon and Jay had left school in the 80s.
  • Cuckoo - Stars Greg Davies as a put-upon father who has to deal with his daughter marrying a hippie during her gap year. His character has a few shades of Mr Gilbert to him, and the show also stars Tamla Kari (Lucy from the first Inbetweeners film) as his daughter in the first series. A few other Inbetweeners cast members also pop up here and there.
  • Man Down - Again, stars Greg Davies (who also created and co-wrote the show) as a teacher who hates his job. I imagine this is probably the closest we'll get to a spin-off show following Mr Gilbert, although Dan Davies is more of a manchild than Gilbert would be.
  • Taskmaster - Although this a gameshow, Greg Davies as the tyrannical host is once again reminiscent of Mr Gilbert and Joe Thomas has appeared on the show as a contestant.
  • Friday Night Dinner - Simon Bird basically plays Will if he were a member of a Jewish family (rather than looking like a Hasidic Jew while trying to buy alcohol), although the humour style is very different to The Inbetweeners.
  • Derry Girls - Often brought up as the closest thing to a female Inbetweeners, although it has a completely different cast (obviously) and production staff, and although the humour style sometimes focuses on Inbetweeners-style mishaps, it's ultimately a more emotionally-charged, heartfelt show (not to say that makes it better than The Inbetweeners, just different).
  • The First Team - I only bring this up because Damon Beesley and Iain Morris created and wrote it, and it starts a few cast members from The Inbetweeners (like Tamla Kari and Theo Barklem-Biggs), but the only real relationship it has to The Inbetweeners is highly unfavourable comparisons and speculation as to how two people who created a masterpiece could also produce such an almighty turd.

Any other examples people can think of?
