My high school biology teacher lost his job for insufficient coddling of creationists, despite telling us that we didn’t have to agree with the theory of evolution we just had to demonstrate that we understood it.

Approximately 37% to 40% of Americans believe in the strict creationist view that God created humans in their present form within the last 10,000 years, 🤦‍♂️

Also, 25 percent of Americans believe the sun revolves around the earth, and around 10 percent believe that Joan of Arc was the wife of Noah.

around 10 percent believe that Joan of Arc was the wife of Noah.

That's terrifying. Even for Christians, because the literate of them should know that at the very least, nothing in texts puts the two of them together. For fuck's sake, The Bible was finished at least a fucking thousand years before Joan of Arc was even born.

Ahh to assume Christians have read the bible, so naive.

It should be abundantly clear that most Christians have never read the Bible based on how intolerant so many of them are

My parents were both Faux News watching MAGAtards, and I assure you, they read the Bible multiple times all the way through. The problem is Christianity, not its supposed adherents.

Don't have to be literate to listen to Dr. Pastor Dean O'sCamly sit there and tell you immigrants are taking your money, but he'll talk to the magic sky guy for you if you throw 10 bucks in a hat we all pass around before committing imaginary cannibalism.

I'm assuming that "Joan of Arc was the wife of Noah" was a bubble on a multiple choice question. Not a thing that anyone really believes, but something that people might guess at when asked "which of the following are correct?"

That 10% is going to be almost entirely comprised of people who have no fucking idea who the question is talking about and are guessing. Assuming the number isn't entirely made up, which it probably is.

Thank you. You just said succinctly what took me three paragraphs to say.
