"Ed Sheeran has roughly 350 to 380 individual tracks available on Spotify, including his main studio albums, deluxe editions, collaborations, and featured guest spots."
"I'm sick to death of people saying we've made 11 albums that sound exactly the same, In fact, we've made 12 albums that sound exactly the same.”
Angus Young, AC⚡️DC
If you have a good thing going, might as well stick with it. Sheeran's not my style of music but if people like what he puts out then I'm not going to judge him. When you have a goldmine, keep digging out the gold, don't start focusing on gravel.
Jesus! I have nothing against Ed, but if you put out 380 songs, there must be a lot of crap in it. Quantity over quality. I mean that's the equivalent of about 33 studio albums! That should be at least 70 years worth of work!
Kinda reminds me of Dua Lipa (which I'm a fan of) talking about her latest album. She proudly said she had written something like 40 or 50 songs on tour. Girl, if those songs on the album are the best of the best of 50 songs, then that's nothing to be proud of. It's really not the flex you think it is...uff...
Music isn't good because the listener is simply incapable of musical achievement. u/graspedbythehusk's ability/achievement or lack of ability/achievement isn't a factor.
It's simply a quality evaluation. Dude doesn't enjoy Sheeran's pop-sound, that's all.
EDIT: To "actively bash" him, one would need to do more than say that essentially, one thinks Sheeran's music is boring. Fan count is also irrelevant because opinions are preference based. Like me as an example, I haven't ever enjoyed taylor swifts music, and she's now a billionaire with a fan count likely in the hundreds of millions. I don't care, I still don't enjoy her music.
Likening someones music to "paint drying" is definitely bashing my friend. If you say something in a rude way that can be said in many other not so rude ways, you are being a dick
