And the GOP has a team in the White House House that makes it fairly easy for them to do so.

Unfortunately true.

We've squandered a trifecta. Congress sits on its collective asses and does little to nothing to pass a conservative agenda. The White House has done its best to dismantle parts of the government with little rhyme or reason in their methods. They spend money crazily while simultaneously imposing higher taxes on American consumers through chaotically implemented taxes. Their foreign policy is the worst in the half century I've been alive.

Things aren't great right now. I imagine the number of people who'd say their lives are not better then they were four years ago. Like it or not, Trump 2024 and Trump 2016 are not the same. Not at all. We've strayed far from conservatism, and when they do attempt to enact a conservative policy, they do it in the most monkey paw like way that it ends up not succeeding.

The Dems are likely going to win by historic levels. They're going to think it's a mandate from the people to enact the most left wing policies possible, rather than a rejection of the current iteration of Republicans. The good news is they'll likely overstep and be unable to retain their wins. The bad news is we're stuck with more gridlock and a stalling of anything that might improve things for ordinary Americans.

Never underestimate the ability of the DNC to hold a winning hand and fold anyway. People are in a panic over Paxton in Texas and I agree he is a horrible candidate but let’s just see how the voting turns out.

People are panicking because the Dems are slated to win at historic levels because all we've done is screw up for 2 years. It's not just Paxton. Kansas is slated to go blue for the first time in almost a century.

Talarico is polling +7 in an area that was +16 Trump. That’s a 23 point swing… in Texas. Not some 2024 swing state. Texas. Sure, polling doesn’t equal the vote, but it’s not a great outlook.

The democrats are masters at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

That’s every election cycle, and people always forget.

It also doesn’t help that Republicans do fuck all when they have all three branches.

Let’s be real for a moment. What have we gotten for our vote ? Never ending war. Trade wars that have only seen the rich benefit. Costs / inflation rising more than salaries. Rising national debt. Glad we got all that for a show put on about controlling illegal immigration which is nothing more than republicans trying to seal votes. There were two issues that were by far and away on top of agenda for voters 1) immigration and 2) economy. Obama has still deported more people than any president (think about that). The economy ? As Citizens we have higher costs while the largest companies got rebates on tariffs and continue to hike costs. What have you gained from a social standpoint ? A pony show to act like they give two shits about immigration ? I have learned the hard way there is no such thing as republicans and democrats. There are two parties that look out for themselves / the elite and sprinkle a little sugar on whatever the latest social fad is to act like they give a damn about you.

That was this administration’s strategy for 2024. What’s new

I am just curious for anyone that might live in Florida, how do you feel about Ashley Moody? She has just really made me start to question things with her involvement of the Hope foundation scandal.

Did not vote for her.

Paris right now is a window into the future with Democrats. Non stop rioting and open borders.

It really is and points out how thankful we should be that we aren't experiencing it.

Trust me, the millions of people that have fled blue states in the past 5 years to move to red states didn’t forget.

My progressive family members that used to vote Democrat don’t even call themselves democrats anymore. They can’t stand what the party has become.

Texas is about to give Talarico a mandate. What are you talking about???

Zero moderation in this sub lmao

The amount of downvotes all the comments get in this sub is insane.

Mods ever going to actually moderate here or what?

18

u/DogfaceDino Fiscal Conservative 7d ago

Reddit doesn’t give us the ability to moderate downvotes or upvotes

4

u/fender1878 Reagan Conservative 6d ago

Does it give the ability to regulate posts and comments? Because you don’t even do that.

7

u/DogfaceDino Fiscal Conservative 6d ago

I spend a couple hours each day doing that. You can’t see everything that gets removed or banned from the sub because it’s gone. It’s like drinking from a fire hose.

-1

u/acemedic 7d ago

You could regulate post by accounts you know are fake…

Murder rate is down, stock market is up, the border is secure, huge amounts of fraud has been eliminated, illegals are being deported, organizations are no longer discriminating through dei, welfare queens are being forced back to work, businesses are investing in the US again, usaid is not spreading propaganda and corruption, and more

But I get it, gas has been expensive for the last few months. That's never happened under Democrat admins. They just love oil production.

Yeah, Gas just started dropping dramatically 3 days ago. On Thursday it was $4.40. Saturday night it was $3.99. Not sure what it is today because its not even 7 am, but it seemed obvious the spike was always going to be temporary

This is a fair source to check national gas prices vs what is at your local pump. https://gasprices.aaa.com/

Driving home last night, I looked. We're $3.59 as of 2 am last night.

Granted the WH team isn’t necessarily getting brownie points in some areas, but some of us are aware of how bad it could very well get under Democrat leadership again.

Gripe about now all you want…under the democrats who’ve been embracing this woke mentality, widespread acceptance regardless of the outlook…we’re gonna be lookin like Europe within a few years only we’ve got more money to blow. Democrats want to save the world and the US just happens to be in it and they think it’s our responsibility to babysit the entire planet.

Illegals and such come here in part because the democrats pump out all this assistive bullshit and the fight to keep it going and them here. Not like the whole world doesn’t see it. That’s just for starters not counting this whole socialist nonsense that has zero to do with universal healthcare. It’s about complete control over manufacturing, distribution etc etc. Essentially what the democrats campaigned on for years Trump was going to do by federalizing (which he didn’t and they’ve wanted to since Obama).

11

u/acemedic 7d ago

I’d rather have woke-ism alive and well with beef not at $36/lb for a steak, or $7/lb for ground beef, diesel over $6, natural gas that doubled in the 18 months in NC, electric up substantially, coffee spiked and came down but it’s still 150% higher (or 7000% higher for those using Trump Math), Turkey/chicken up to $5-6/lb, fish at $15/lb, computer parts up to $4000 for a graphics card these days, or buckle up and just wait for a CPU, airline tickets up 45%, health insurance cost up to $40,000 for a family of 4 to be denied anyways, “inflation at 3%,” either is an outright lie, or the harder inflation is coming after the price increases in diesel shake out… and the Fed is already increasing rates with more on the way.

Please give me the wokeism. I can’t afford to be “unwoke.” I honestly give zero F%{*s about what someone else does in the privacy of their own home. If they want to have a parade, who gives a crap? If you don’t agree, don’t show up. That’s the same thing someone on the far right would say relative to their ability to practice religion. If you disagree with their religion, don’t show up to the church. It’s their right to exercise their pursuit of life, liberty and happiness until it infringes on the next persons rights. The right has got to stop being snowflakes about someone else’s beliefs.
