Discussion The majority of Reddit is making me realize how stupid Reddit has become.

1.2k Upvotes

I was just scrolling through my feed and keep seeing post after post after post about "Elon is a Nazi and Trump has made me lose faith in America." This is literally the only subreddit I'm in for politics, but nope left wing ideas will be pushed no matter where I look now. I am just so tired of it.. I used to look at reddit for memes but now all people post is just some dumb bs about Trump or Elon. Im just glad Trump won and is able to actually get some stuff done while we have the house and senate. I just wanted to post this somewhere I know I wouldn't just get banned immediately.

Discussion It is just me, who doesn’t think Elon is evil just autistic?

He is neurodivergent, autistic, and has ticks, plus he was so happy it makes me smile. It looked like to me he was giving his heart to America plus there are so many politicians who do that way including Obama, Harris, Clinton, etc.

As I was watch Trump sign executive orders I saw a pbs article saying Elon doing racist salute, sure it’s seem but he didn’t click his heels or straightened his arms to his sides.

I think these fake news, panicking left wing new stations are trying to find the tiniest thing to point at and twist the narrative about how ā€œEvil republican regime taking over America.ā€

I am happy Trump can finally ignore them and focus on making America great again.

JD Vance wins. Do you keep the cabinet the same and put Rubio in as VP and put Ron DeSantis at Secretary of State. Or keep it as is and pick a different VP, maybe Ted Cruz? I’m curious of your thoughts.

Discussion Can somebody please explain this to me

Post image

I have not seen one instance of Charlie Kirk using slurs or amped up hate speech. You know he was religious and he didn't agree with the gay lifestyle and I don't ever remember him using slurs or saying just ridiculously provocative things and calling the names. But they sure as hell called him names and said ridiculous things. They can say whatever the hell they want. Call him Hitler and whatever else they want to call him and nothing ever gets better address like it doesn't matter.

Yet for a very long time after he was shot they were basically blaming him for being shot because of his "hate speech". It's like they just can say, well they think they still can, whatever the hell they make up in their head and because they have such a stranglehold on the media and the culture they're just going to believe it! But it's not like that anymore. Now more people are like wait what the hell is going on what did they just say? He didn't do that when did he do that?

In almost every sub, these liberals have to bring up their absolute dog shit political views like their lives depend on it. Are all of these liberals lurking in every sub just kids who were bullied in high school or something?

Discussion Leaving the Left

Post image
213 Upvotes

Good morning folks, tbh I’m surprised this subreddit exists with the massive echo chamber that Reddit is. I just wanted to tell my (abbreviated) story about how I opened my eyes and left that side behind.

I’m a 29 Male that grew up in a conservative household and pretty just went along with my parents beliefs. I graduated high school in 2015 and was already starting to be captured by the left from crap they started teaching around that time in high school. However when I went to college that is went my descent into the leftist cult started. I first hand can attest to professors teaching Marxist and gender ideology as undisputed facts rather than presented as theory. So when 2016 came around I along with the rest of my college friends had deep dts (most of them sadly still do) and we all voted Hilary, and we’re all freaking out along with the rest of the cult that Trump won.

Fast forward to 2019 after I graduated and start working in the real world my eyes were starting to open because I was opening my mind again to the other side and seeing conflicting information that the main stream news had lied about. But then when the pandemic hit my eyes were forced wide open!

They completely staged the January 6th ā€œcoupā€. If you listen to any independent journalist covering it, it was very peaceful but for a few likely paid agitators that were being told to stop, by patriots there protesting.

During the pandemic the Biden administration let in more people than this country could take at once and called it empathy. They blatantly censored differing opinions and facts about masks and the vaccine, and postured it as ā€œdoing your part.ā€ Had ā€œpeaceful protestsā€ while a building was burning in the background.

The complete demonization/dehumanization the left so proudly does and has the audacity to say the right are ā€œNazis.ā€ This over use of the term is sickening especially coming from a background where my grandmother suffered under real Nazis and her cousin lost her life in the holocaust.

Lastly, I guess I will ask this, is the left too far gone into their descent into socialist/marxist ideology, or is there still hope for these folks to come back to reality like I did and argue over how to run the country properly instead of identity and race? Or is this just a product of social media?

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk and again very appreciative this page exists, I can’t even post in my own state subreddit without being bombarded by claims I’m a Nazi or pedo protector.

Edit: this got reposted in r/leftist and they are all in there little coping echo chamber saying we don’t know what a leftist or the left is…

Discussion Trump needs to stop doing this

As a conservative who voted for him this election, I’m excited for what Trump has to bring in his 2nd term. However, he needs to stop talking about taking Greenland, Canada, and the Panama Canal. Him talking about taking over Canada is a joke obviously. Still, with Greenland and the Panama Canal. he sounds serious, and this gives the media and the democrats something to talk about and make trump sound like an aggressor. Trump hasn't even been inaugurated yet, and he's already talking about annexing territories. It really isn't a good look.

Discussion U.S. national debt officially hits $39 trillion—adding $5 billion a day since October

Excerpts:

The issue is rising up the agenda for both those in public service and in the private sector: Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio has long warned of an economic ā€œheart attack,ā€ whereby service payments on debt would one day choke out public-sector investments. Already, interest payments are equivalent to government spending on education and the military combined.

The president also has his own take on the debt picture. Trump has demonstrated he’s aware of the nation’s fiscal trajectory and has suggested some methods to help rebalance—tariffs and golden visas, to name a few.

However, in a recent interview with Fortune’s Editor in Chief, Alyson Shontell, Trump also shared an alternate view: That the nation’s debt is really not so bad if you see it through the lens of a real estate mogul. The debt versus the total value of America and its natural assets, such as the Grand Canyon or surrounding oceans. ā€œIf you put down the value of these things, it’s like hundreds of trillions of dollars,ā€ Trump says, and by that measure, ā€œif you kept [the national debt] at $40Ā trillion, you’re way under-levered.ā€Ā

Seems to me like there has been a lot of money found that’s being spent on frivolous things that could be utilized by democrats to pay for some of the things they believe in most, ie. healthcare reform, homelessness, education, LGBTQ causes…. Why are they so vehemently against what’s going on right now with doge

Discussion I am a moderate liberal but I come in peace...

Hello all. I am a moderate liberal who greatly dislikes Trump, however I have voted Republican in the past. I definitely lean liberal, but I also don't think all liberal policies are good, and I think we need a balance between the two parties. Whenever things get too far left or too far right, it's rarely productive. I believe progress is in the middle and we need to normalize being a centrist. (Just letting you all know where I stand.) Please know that I come in peace and I do not have any secret agenda to get in a fight.

So - here is my question: does Trump's apparent closeness with Elon, Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos make you nervous? I don't know anyone in my personal life who is conservative and I am trying to get an honest take from the other side. Personally, I think this is jacked and I don't like it at all. This much power and influence should not be in the hands of billionaires, and I don't trust that any of these men really care about the common folks (us!). (For the record, I don't think politicians on either side really care that much about us...they are all self-serving and it sucks.)

Anyway - the thought of Mark Zukerberg possibly owning Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp AND Tiktok, while Elon owns X/Twitter SCARES ME. I don't want to be told what to do or think by any of these guys, and it feels like we are getting closer and closer to state-run social media...not good for anyone. I would love to get the take from some of you and PLEASE keep it respectful. I am not a "libtard" and I am not an idiot...just a curious person who is trying to broaden my horizons. Thank you in advance.
