The right knew it wouldn’t pass with the voter id bill attached and now they’re making headlines that don’t share the full story about the bill. I bet it would’ve passed almost unanimously as a standalone bill and now something great won’t be done. Do I hope the SAVE act passes? 100%. Do I believe shooting down other good bills is the way to do so? No.

I've been a Republican my entire life but the right LIES TO ME much more than the left does... I'm getting tired of it.

I think it’s genius. 2 things the entire population agree with in extremely high margins and they shot them both down. What leg do you have to stand on when something like 81% of all Americans say they don’t want insider trading and 86% say they want some sort of voter id?

10 years ago? This would’ve passed without a second thought. Too bad representatives forgot that they’re supposed to represent their constituents’ beliefs instead of voting based on their own agenda

Yes, because it was bundled with even more poison pill voter restrictions right before midterm elections.

Listen nobody hates the demonrats more than me but they added a few poison pills in there there was no way this was going to pass it was just an optics move

This story needs to be ran in every Republican ad for the midterms.

Agreed. The NY Post and OP should both be ashamed of spreading disinformation.

It’s an article. It’s not his responsibility to editorialize.

Providing proper context is not editorializing. Failing to do so in this case changes "news" to dishonest propaganda.

There should be no stock trading by any member of Congress or the Senate
