I have seen enough videos to learn, the Thai people don't mess around, everyone there agrees with street justice.
If I ever visit there, I will be on my best behavior lol

u/lipp79 12h ago
Or just be on your best behavior no matter where you go.

Imagine growing up in the first world thinking you know the āstreetsā, but youāre never been to a third world country or developing country. Thereās levels to this.

u/InThatDarkPlace 8h ago edited 8h ago
Most Thais aren't confrontational. Touristy areas don't accurately reflect the country (neither does calling it "third world). They'll usually go out of their way to avoid violence/drama to a degree not commonly seen in Western nations to maintain harmony. However, "fairness" and "proportionality" don't exist among Thai fighting etiquette.
When they do fight, they tend to be strong in numbers only, fight in gangs, or use weapons. There's no such thing as fighting with honor here. For these reasons, it best to avoid altercations unless someone wants to get jumped 10 to 1, or even 20 to 1.
The video is in a tourist trap surrounded by drunk/high people, a lot of whom casually smoke methamphetamine, so the mob mentality easily takes over.

As a general rule, don't pick a fight with the locals in typical 'tourist trap' places.... They have plenty of experience and pent up frustration dealing with drunk and disorderly tourists....
3
u/InThatDarkPlace 7h ago
I'm with you. Anyone going to foreign countries with the big man on campus atittude shouldn't go. That's why I tend to avoid foreigners here altogether, and associate with Thais.

That's nonsense. This stuff happens all the time and everywhere. They do not magically create this attitude by going into a tourist area, they bring it with them from upcountry.
1
u/Opposite-Lead-5291 26m ago
Most Thais are not confrontational. Outside of Japan, out of the 37 countries Iāve been to, Thailand is the 2nd least confrontational. Iāve lived in Thai areas and of course been to tourist areas so what exactly is nonsense?
1
u/Jazzlike-Check9040 34m ago
Itās a street fight. If you want honor or a 1v1 go to a ring.
1
u/InThatDarkPlace 25m ago
Or one could not fight at all and avoid the unpredictability of risking serious injury, death, or prison, and smoke weed in the dispensary shown in the video.

Not even best behavior is needed. Just donāt be a complete twat and youāll get by fine.

u/TheHow55 12h ago
what happens at 26 seconds, does he 1) just lose his balance , 2) get hit with something i cant see, or 3) falling on purpose showing to the other person that they will be the one falling down after he hits them?
23
u/lipp79 12h ago
I think they're drunk.
29
u/Ohitskay 9h ago
Theyāre FUCKED. Itās more than drunk itās like they took some kind of Thai drug that theyāre not used to
41
u/nodnodwinkwink 9h ago
They're probably on coke and the guy that dropped to the floor looked to me like he was trying to mock someone. So option 3. Hopefully more videos come out of this.

u/Current-Bowl-143 11h ago

Thai people will hold back until the assholery reaches volcano level. Then a well deserved comeuppance will follow
58
u/HumongousBelly 12h ago
The question is, why would you wanna go on vacation to another country, pay thousands of euros and get in fights with people, like youāre Russell Crowe?!
If you wanna do fighting tourism, why not go help out Ukrainians or Palestinian civilians and protect them from settlers or bombs?!
54
u/mines_over_yours 12h ago
Married to a Thai woman for over 30 years. I can attest to this. I could even describe the sound a 14" carbon wok makes when it hits your skull. It's a very distinct ring.
22
u/Saralentine 10h ago
Umm you ok bro
38
u/mines_over_yours 10h ago
Yes, thank you. I learned a very valuable lesson. Do not try to sneak in the back door at 3 am while drunk as a skunk. It is a mistake I will never make again.

Thai people are very soft, kind, gentle, warm, and friendly until they aren't.
So many tourists are abusive towards locals and they are dealt with fairly by Thai people as you can see.

Thai are the most patient people Iāve ever met. However, they have a very successful fighting style named after them, and the training involves cutting down BANANA trees with your kicks⦠soā¦

Thai here. They train with banana tree, not coconut tree lol

9
u/whiskyismymuse 12h ago
I love the people who were mid smoke and decided to get a few justified shots in
9
u/stubundy 11h ago
They better hope the cops don't intervene cos they will piss test you for drugs and turning up positive for that is almost as bad as being caught with the actual drugs on you and it looks like white shirt is on yaba or something with all that leaping around and over exadurated picking up of his mate.

Thai people so kind, polite....but I think ALOT of western tourists forget if you disrespect them...they will fuck you up.
5
u/Greedirl 4h ago
When you're in another country, you are a guest there. Most of the time they don't want you there, but they tolerate you being there.
You need to understand . . .
If you start some shit, you are outnumbered an entire country to one.
9
u/wallstreets_issue 11h ago
As a Frenchman I'm glad they learn that messing around can be dangerous.
69
u/Cold-Candidate-3746 12h ago
āFrenchā immigrants whoās ill behavior is tolerated in western Europa, Glad to see that in Thailand they get an answer for their disrespect
10
u/Higher-Love99 10h ago
Exactly! American troops off base in South east Asia would never behave like this. Or your average pasty boy from the UK after he's had a pint or two. Totally respectful groups with absolutely no history of wanton violence in foreign countries.Ā

Reddit moderation goes hard over racism charge but I can tell you they're not. We do hate this kind of people. Low education second generation immigrants. They spoil everything everywhere

God help the ugly tourists if these people ever learn about snuggies.
3
u/Viva_La_Revolucion66 11h ago
The even sadder part here is this twat won't learn a fucking thing

u/VerilyShelly 10h ago
He's so wasted he won't remember when he wakes up why he's covered in abrasions and has a concussion. Just a great time out in Thailand bro!

u/Higher-Love99 10h ago

7
u/VerilyShelly 10h ago
Yes, all Europeans are white. Come on bro. It's 2026, give it a rest.

u/lumidea12 5h ago
In these videos, there is always the special type of āEuropeansā. Thats just it. No rest given.
2
u/International-Mix633 1h ago
The vast majority of thest "tourists get beat up in Thailand" videos are white Americans or Brits lmao

You know that doesn't mean anything except that's what you keep running into. Pale skinned assholes ABOUND.
4
u/lumidea12 4h ago
No doubt there are assholes that are actually french. But not all assholes are french.
2
u/VerilyShelly 4h ago
Sure. I don't think this post was implying that they are. The whole world knows they are usually American /s

Especially to a country that doesn't take to kindly to bullshit. Hope he learnt his lesson, properly didn't tho... But here's hoping.

The hilarity of running your mouth to people who are renowned in the world for their kindness and proficiency at kickboxing. There's a lesson to be learned here and I think in time they will be thankful this happened to them. The Thai people are measured and wouldn't cause permanent damage. Do this same thing in other countries and their lives would really be at risk.

I think the worst you can do in life is being beaten up by a village worth of people because you're being an idiot
1
u/Gatorboi69 11h ago
Hats off to the guy in the green shirt for standing in the absolute best place possible throughout this video
1
u/New-Professional6070 11h ago
Well.. these Gentleman are really a special kind of idiots, as it seems.
Thai people don't like this kind of idiots, as it seems.

1
u/Scared_Garbage6190 10h ago
I don't usually see beatings that badly on here (about Thai Street Justice) and usually we get the entire feed of what happens leading up to the beatdown, but here there's literally a gap and I'm wondering if that guy did something so bad that they were actually trying to kill him.
1
u/abigblacknob 10h ago
Theyre clearly off their chops. Still, if they act like this off their nut probably not much better sober.

Before I went to Thailand for the first time a friend who had been bunch said when you're out at the bars etc. be chill and don't ever get in a fight with a local. Reasoning is you might be able to beat one of them but you'll never beat 20 of them. I don't ever get in fights in general, so this advice is useless... unless you're the guy in the video lol
