God I wish I wasn’t American. This would be funny af to basically everyone else but its just fucking embarrassing to me. Like how dumb is our electorate that this is who they pick multiple times?

Dude, I live next door and it's not funny. It's infuriating and scary that he was elected to have power of life and death over the whole planet.

1

u/Sufficient_Start4727 Sep 08 '26

Yeah half of Americans chose him, the other half chose old Biden just before. You Americans sure have a type

24

u/OminOus_PancakeS Sep 07 '26

Buddy, I live on the other side of the Atlantic. Even at this distance, the slow collapse of America is soberingly awful. It's not funny at all.

I just hope much of it is reversible.

As an American who has done everything in my power short of getting a felony to fight against this collapse, I’m pretty much just placing my bets on China collecting on our national debt, taking over the USA, and hoping they at least give us public transit

3

u/Stun_the_Pink Sep 07 '26

As a European I think it's hilarious.

7

u/HumptyDumptruckFire Sep 07 '26

As an American, it’s hard to blame you. It’s a combination of hubris, stupidity, and ignorance that is cosmically humorous. I just wish it was a novel and not real life.

3

u/sharkbait-oo-haha Sep 08 '26

Nobody would believe it if it was novel/in media. The author/writers would get dunked on so hard for such terrible writing.

3

u/Demonmercer Sep 08 '26

Now anytime I get into an argument with an American in the future and I start to lose I can pull out the 'your dumb country elected a child rapist as a president and failed to imprison all the rich epstein elites on the list'. Not to mention still funding the Israeli genocidal state and bombing the middle east again.

u/Strong_Jello_739 Sep 08 '26

If the usa collapses hopefully NATO takes over our bases around the world because definitely don't want those to fall to the locals

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 Sep 07 '26

its actually hilarious what do you mean? they are directly responsible for the despise of MULTIPLE countries. we get to see america fall AND in such a crazy entertaining way

u/Fit_Transition_824 Sep 07 '26

The collapse of America is a good thing

6

u/Weak-Accident-3551 Sep 07 '26

For a few rich people waiting to swoop in and privatize everything while it's on fire sale. It's bad for the majority of AmericansĀ

-2

u/Fit_Transition_824 Sep 07 '26

American culture is so toxic and extreme regardless of who’s side you are on

6

u/jimmymcjim Sep 07 '26

pedos are bad and critical thinking is good isn't really an extreme side champ.

1

u/Fit_Transition_824 Sep 07 '26

If Americans really thought that Donald trump wouldn’t be their president and Luigi mangione wouldn’t be the only one killing bad guys

5

u/Wise-Dust3700 Sep 07 '26

Hard disagree with that and I'm not American but also not from the Middle East so I guess take it with a grain of salt.

4

u/Fit_Transition_824 Sep 07 '26

Start a movement for your state to become a canadian territory

1

u/what-isthis-even Sep 07 '26

No. We don't want them.

2

u/GuybrushThreepwo0d Sep 07 '26

This was funny 10 years ago before we thought he would really be elected. We haven't been laughing. We have been looking on in shocked horror at your society since then.Ā

1

u/BittyWastard Sep 08 '26

It was my last year of college the year he got the nomination. We did really laugh at that. Government studies majors. When he got elected. I cried. I worked with Micronesians who thought it was so funny. I pleaded with them to understand why it was so bad.

2

u/UnbendingDelusions Sep 08 '26

As an American in the Midwest, 75% of the people I interact with have no interest in politics.Ā  It's as though everyone except myself and a few observant friends of mine know a collapse is happening.

1

u/Street-Badger Sep 07 '26

It’s really a question that answers itself.

1

u/as_it_was_written Sep 07 '26

Not American, and I would have found it funny af when I was younger and more cynical/apathetic. Nowadays I just find it sad and frustrating in equal measure.

1

u/Remote-Waste Sep 07 '26

Oh we're far past laughing

1

u/summane Sep 07 '26

They are not mutually exclusive. His being a disgusting petty evil parody of a living being doesn't change the fact that he produces all kinds of hilarity. Knowing this kind of person can't stand ridicule, would that make it feel okay?

1

u/NaughtyTormentor Sep 07 '26

No worries there, no reason to be ashamed for a farting head of state.Ā

All heads of state fart.

It's the other things, the policies and conduct, you should be ashamed about

1

u/United_Maybe_2357 Sep 07 '26

I WOULD find it funny if the consequences of his actions were strickly limited to the people who voted for him, but either directly or indirectly they affect litterally everyone on the planet so...

1

u/sv21js Sep 07 '26

If you’re not one of the ones who voted for him you just have our sympathy. There’s honestly nothing funny about any of it until he’s not a threat to everyone on earth

1

u/LaurenMille Sep 07 '26

Sadly it's not really funny to people outside of the US either.

I don't like having to worry about my future based on how retarded the US population decides to be every 4 year cycle.

1

u/Traditional_Put_8254 Sep 08 '26

Remember that show Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe? He used to always say ā€œI wish you guys had smell-ovisionā€ when he worked a gross job. Well, if we had smellovisions, I like to imagine the elections would have gone differently

1

u/DudeWithARedHorse Sep 08 '26

I've been "Canadian" to anyone who asks face-to-face since 2016.

1

u/suburban_hyena Sep 08 '26

I live in Africa. It's very funny. But also really sad, in an "I pity y'all" way

1

u/Stoeptegelt Sep 08 '26

Don't worry, his policies hurt us too!

1

u/DasFroDo Sep 08 '26

It's not really funny. We're just all coping the catastrophic global results of this shit with humour.

1

u/idontcommentok Sep 08 '26

Don't worry. It stopped being funny ages ago... if it ever really was.

We are all just suffering now

-1

u/ProfessionalNewt2487 Sep 07 '26

Gen z is dumb as a damn rock

5

u/SimianIndustries Sep 07 '26

Boomers are the worst, generically named account

3

u/bbeeebb Sep 07 '26

Yah. Check how many boomers make up the entire administration. How many broke into the Capitol. How many are in the Proud "Boys".

Bunch of whiney infants always wanting to blame someone else. It's the nature of the kids who had 'helicopter parenting'. (ie, post-boomer)

2

u/Kentust Sep 07 '26

Uh, boomers were split 51/49 Harris trump. Larger percentage of Gen z was right wing last election cycle than the baby boomers., cringeily named account.

1

u/StoryAndAHalf Sep 07 '26

Source on that? Every link I looked said young voters/voters under 30 skewed higher for Harris that's more than 51/49 split.

1

u/Kentust Sep 07 '26

According to your chart I was wrong. It was a 50/50 split. A 60/40 split isn't some miraculous improvement, it's a minor difference and the person I was originally talking to implied boomers are heavily for trump which is patently false.

1

u/StoryAndAHalf Sep 07 '26

I meant you said "Larger percentage of Gen z was right wing last election cycle than the baby boomers"
Baby boomers voted 50% for trump. Gen Z 43.5%. 43.5% is not larger than 50%. Unless you mean 2024 being this election cycle, and last being the previous one. In which case, 38% is still smaller than 52.5%.

1

u/Kentust Sep 07 '26

I meant 2024, yes. I admit I was mistaken about the percentage of Gen z, but frankly that is a red herring to my true point about boomers not being overwhelmingly pro trump which is a common but popular falsehood.

1

u/StoryAndAHalf Sep 07 '26

That's fair. it's honestly more of a rural/urban split than age one.

0

u/ButtStuffingt0n Sep 07 '26

Idk. Gen Z is really trying to steal the stupidity throne from them.

0

u/Feeling-Salad5686 Sep 07 '26

I'm downvoting everyone involved in this dang thread smh can we stop with the generation wars
