Discussion Day 1

I hate how much life I’ve lost because of this.

Looking back at the period of my life where I smoked, It all feels like a massive blur.

So many opportunities I rejected because I chose to be lazy and to stay in bed with my weed and just zombie scroll. My weight got out of hand, depression kicked in, wife losing respect for me over time. I’ve distanced myself from family & friends just to smoke.

I have to take accountability, its my choice. My decision. I decide whether i smoke weed again or not.

When those withdrawals come & i know they will come in anger. I will stand strong & firm. I will not lose discipline or focus on my journey.

I am doing this to redeem myself. To build honour and respect

I have booked a half marathon in March 2027. I am going to focus on this & do the best i can

owning it the way you just did is the hardest part, and day 1 is a good day to write this down. the first week or so is usually the roughest for irritability and sleep, and it does ease up after that, so it's worth knowing the anger you're expecting is a phase and not who you are now.

the half marathon is a smart anchor. having a date to train toward gives the empty hours something to do, and the running tends to help with sleep and mood too. rooting for you.

Thank you for your words. It helps alot

I got through the first night but it was tough. I managed to find some relief by having a hot bath & then a really cold shower followed by 15 mins of breathing excercises and then managed to fall asleep but i was waking up throughout the night twitching

getting through night one with a plan that worked is a real win, the hot bath and breathing stuff sounds like a keeper. waking up a lot and some twitching is pretty common in the first week while your sleep resets, and it usually eases up. if the twitching gets worse or comes with sweating or a racing heart, especially if you also cut back on drinking at the same time, it's worth a quick call to a doctor to be safe. you've got this.
