I honestly don't know where all of this comes from, maybe it's an American thing or maybe younger generations are more self conscious or something. From my experience most men a mature enough to not be weird and only use the second next urinal to be politely respectful. If I need to piss I'll go shoulder to shoulder with blokes at the pub in the piss trough.

This is the thing; you can give a person right beside you all the privacy in the world by just not looking!

The only time it is normal to stand 50cm from a wall and staring right at the same spot for a minute

Lol, just so happens I am a woman. We can be taught! I actually used to work somewhere that had only one bathroom consisting of a single stall and a urinal. Sometimes I would come out of the stall to a guy at the urinal beside the sink (with a gap). Most people I talk to seemed horrified by the idea, but I kept my eyes averted, the guys stayed discrete, and no one was inappropriate so it was a non-issue.

do you think i'm female or something?

It has nothing to do with that, the plumbing in this would be an absolute nightmare, and would never get approved. If I got called to work on this, I would just refuse. It's not worth the hassle. And if I did, you can guarantee I would be charging more than normal and the job would take a lot longer too. That's just a nightmare.

Sure, but the viral debate doesn't stem from plumbing, its got to do with the urinal memes..

The weirdest thing about this thread is the number of people who seriously think this is about plumbing.

I'm 8/10 the meme is just intended to be make people ask questions.

Maybe the viral debate is whether its about plumbing or not

Where are we supposed to be waiting in line to pee? There's zero open space in this room if all the slots toilets and rivals are in use. Additionally, there's a huge bottleneck at the sinks.

Damn kids these days will never know the freedom of pissing in a trough full of ice!

Well, according to the meme it's not coming from men at all, but I don't think any significant amount of people are actually advocating for this layout.

Heres my theory; this made up woman sees all the urinal memes online and comes up with this design, then it goes viral (in this fantasy situation)
