Legal FRT Legality
As of 6/28/26, FRTs are still legal in Michigan? I don’t want to run into any trouble. The legality tip toeing is concerning. I guess that’s how they want me to feel with all of the contradictory laws.

Their possession and/or use are neither prohibited nor permitted by any primary (binding/mandatory) authority in this state.
Period.
You can bet that the first search result in this sub would return a different answer if this were not the case.

Despite any opinions you may have seen from our attorney general, there is nothing in the MCL that prohibits purchasing or using FRTs. If they take an outright majority in both house of the legislature and win the governor's office in the next election, you can bet they will try to change that and then spend millions of our taxpayer dollars fighting legal battles they will very likely lose, with zero negative effects to them personally.
There's plenty of things I don't like about Republicans, but Democrats on this particular issue are just objectively the worse choice.

Yes, the current attorney general is off the opinion they're illegal. Michigan law and federal law has identical text on machines guns. The Supreme Court of the USA already decided FRT, SS, etc are not machine guns. But the attorney general will still gladly ruin your life at tax payer expense. If you get these, just keep it quiet.

weird, who banned bump stocks again?

A) That executive order got overturned in the courts.
B) FRTs made them irrelevant anyway.
C) One bad thing does not immediately invalidate that Democrats immediately pass gun control the moment they get into power. If you're a single issue voter on gun rights I bet you can count the number of Democrats who are pro-gun without running out of fingers and toes on which to count them.
Notice I didn't say Republicans are perfect on guns, I said on this issue they're objectively better, and that's just true, even if they occasionally get things wrong on the margins.

I asked a simple question, apparently too hard to answer.
Which party's leader banned bump stocks again?

The mulford act would like to have a word with you. And lots of legislation that is created to disenfranchise minorities from gun ownership.

Yes, Republicans in California, 70 years ago passed some bad legislation because they were scared of minorities owning guns. Trump signed an executive order banning something that got enjoined and overturned. This isn’t remotely on the same level as Democrats not seeing a piece of anti-gun legislation they didn’t like.
You still haven’t said anything yet that disproves my original statement: Democrats are objectively worse on gun rights than Republicans.
Are you suggesting voting for Democrats won’t result in more anti-gun legislation? Because Virginia would like a word with you, sir.

If you're going to by hyperbolic, just go with the gusto! It was 300 years ago!
Trump signed an executive order banning something that got enjoined and overturned.
Well, as long as it was overturned. Makes that A-OK. You really do have strong logic skills!
This isn’t remotely on the same level as Democrats not seeing a piece of anti-gun legislation they didn’t like.
For sure, trying to stop non-whites from protecting themselves is much better than a humanitarian goal of reducing gun violence. Btw, do you own a pointy white hat?
Yep, Democrats don't like guns and put forth legislation that oversteps the 2nd. But don't pretend like the republicans wouldn't strip the rights of every minority to own guns if they could. Laws around the country, crafted by the right, already severely punish minorities for exercising their self-defense rights.
Weird, prosecutors go after minorities with these laws much more often.

16 governors (9/5 split) and the mayor of DC?
Finger pointing was cool in 3rd grade ...

My bad you random troll, I thought we were having a good faith discussion regarding democrats and republicans.. Where I was responding to a post that was pointing fingers.
Maybe google is too hard for you to use? Try again, I'm sure you'll understand how to do it once you hit 4th grade.

But, Timmy did it too mom! Why am I grounded?
-- Yep that's 3rd grade behavior right there LOL --What does google have to do with your sidestep of what you thought were easy Orange-man-bad points? Feel free to use it yourself though - I may be off by one politician in my reply to you.

Aww, did the Orange-man-bad facts get to you?
Cult members and facts are like oil and water. They just don't mix.
Enjoy 4th grade. Let them know you don't put up with finger pointing anymore.

At this point, they remain legal. The demonrats are trying to come for them. Elections have consequences.

Yeah, our whole country (and honestly, the world) is suffering the consequences of one of our elections as we speak.
