Are we being trolled?? Who on earth is doing PR for the Mayor and why would they ever think this video reflects effective leadership that people should be excited about in the wake of this trend with Mamdani? Instead of finding one of the thousands of other potholes to fix (or just not post at all)…they decide to show the solution that every LA driver loves…more parking signs 😆

Politics Get me off this timeline! Are we asking for stupid and a dumper fire in California??

1.8k Upvotes

Did people's brains melt in 2015 and just keep melting? Has anyone learned what a massive shitshow happens when a narcistic rich boy reality show misogynist with no experience who spouts hate get into office? I just saw the most recent results of the LA Mayors race.
First of all, I am surprised by Bass, but thought strategically Raman would be the follow up. But I am ashamed of Los Angeles and gobsmacked that Pratt had as many votes as he does. I mean he is a full on Maga, he has openly abused women, he was stupid and didn't take out fire insurance and blamed the city. I mean he has no experience whatsoever in any kind of job other than being in front of a camera and tanking selling crystals. Why? Why? Why?

Does California and LA really want to be ripped off and tanked???

The Governor's race had too many Democrats and none of them had enough selflessness to drop out to push another Democrat forward to ward off the chance a big MAGA head Fox News commentator would be running. Again have people learned NOTHING.

OMG this is how Idiocracy began, with stupid people all googly eyed by other dumbass but greedy people.

The Idiocracy, Wall-E, The Simpsons ,BTF2 Biff, Handmaids tale, Parable of Sower, It can't happen here, 1984, Natures End, Fahrenheit 451, The Circle, Terminator dystopian timeline is chugging right along.....

Politics This was posted on Bass’ Social Media. It’s things like this that make me choose Raman over Bass.

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

To be clear, this is not the biggest reason. I think Bass has clearly failed at her promises with addressing the homelessness epidemic that we are experiencing in Los Angeles. There are some things I don’t blame her for because there are separation of powers in govt but her refusal (or dancing around) to accept that her approach failed is discouraging number one.

HOWEVER, the fact that I am seeing her stoop so low to these weird antics to attack Raman is a big red flag for me and I am sick of it.

I’ll vote for Raman as a big fck you the current Mayoral administration and a BIG f\ck you to the City Council particularly the ones who have added on to this stupid attacking behavior (e.g Rodriguez, Padilla).*

Tired of politics being this endless game of bullshit and adults who act like children.

This stuff honestly infuriates me as much as any policy or scandal. Someone works for years, (for free!) to save a beloved LA landmark only for a politician who did nothing to swoop in and claim credit.

I'd love the many Bass Bots on here to explain to me why this is ok.

Edit: Its genuinely hilarious that every time Bass is mentioned in this sub the same 10 accounts (all less than a year old) come in and start defending her. We all know you're astroturfing!

Politics At City Council today, people demanded the removal of LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell over how his officers have protected ICE and assaulted protests

Today I went to the LA City Council Meeting with a bunch of community members to demand the removal of LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell, which they can do by a 2/3rds vote. Though LA is a sanctuary city, LAPD have been working with ICE, protecting them and brutalizing protesters on their behalf. On Saturday 10/18 — No Kings 2.0 — LAPD officers on horseback charged a peaceful protest, beating people (including press) with batons and shooting them at close range with “less-lethals.”

We sat through endless presentations before public comment, including one about rising food insecurity, which Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson took as his queue to walk around eating from a plate of food, days before millions will lose their food stamps.

Finally, community members were each given only 60 seconds to speak. While people demanded action and begged for help, City Council members talked, laughed, and ignored the community voices insisting they DO SOMETHING already. People who went over their 60 seconds were removed from the chamber.

Eventually, Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson urged one of his colleagues to leave the chamber so they’d lose quorum. They ended public comment early, adjourned the meeting, and turned out the lights, but people stayed behind to get their minute, even if Nithya Raman was the only one who remained to hear people out.

Enough already. We need LA city government to stop lying to the media about how we don’t comply. LAPD does. They need to stand with the people instead.
