My partner is going to some of these events hoping to expand her professional network. Whats your experience been like so far? Any goals or anything you particularly hope to gain from all this?

My experience been slightly unpleasant because I’m uncomfortable lol. I don’t do well at mixers and some events I’m getting a bit of whiplash since I’m not in the industry.

Unpleasant interaction with a person when I’m trying to introduce myself to him and he brush me off mid sentence because I don’t work in AI.

The latest event was called build a bachelor where we generate characters using ai tools using god knows how many tools and drop them in a simulated love island dating show. Tbh it didn’t look good.

That build a bachelor thing just doesn't sound like a fun way to spend an evening hahah. I guess at least you will benefit from some good ol fashion exposure therapy. Sometimes it aint you its them - like when they only want to talk to AI 'professionals'.
