Got stung by a bee on the back of my neck while driving a few minutes ago, so that was super fun. Thought it was my hair or necklace chain, but nope. Bee. Amazing how the body has such a visceral reaction to unexpected bugs. lol. I might have to pull the dash cam footage just to listen to the sounds I made. I'm not sure at all where the bee went because I went into fight mode. lmao. It's distinctly possible that it's still in my car, but I couldn't find it.

Anyways, luckily, I am not allergic and I don't physically react much to bug bites or bee stings. There is a small white welt with a red center and a tiny bit of swelling, but it should go away by the end of the day. Already got the stinger out because I happen to have tweezers in my car so I can pluck chin hairs.

All is well, except it still burns a little. I think I might put some ice on it.

How did the bee get into your car? Sorry to hear that. I was stung by a bee only once whilst I was hiking in Utah, and it was sooooo painful and I had a slight reaction but it was expected since I am prone to allergies.

I am guessing it was already on the back of my neck, but I did have the window down. I suppose anything is possible. Funny enough, this is the 2nd time this has happened to me within the last 2 years. I had almost the same thing happen while I was visiting my dad except it stung my finger instead of the back of my neck, but it was on the back of my neck originally.

I guess the back of my neck is attractive to bees?

I know! I don’t have proof of this, but I was hiking couple months ago in Mammoth and I believe I was stung by a bee on the back of my neck as well - it hurt at the moment and I had a huge lump on it for a couple of days. Again, don’t have proof but I think that’s what happened.

Wonder what’s so yummy about the neck?

Definitely sounds like a sting. They suck. I'm just glad I was at a red light and was able to turn into a gas station right away. Would've really sucked if I was actually moving. lol. Funny enough, I was just talking to my co-worker about this; my skin/body doesn't really react to stings or bites. There is a tiny lump on my neck right now, but you can't even see anything unless you know to look for the tiny bump. It's so interesting to me why I just don't really react to bugs.
