My brother of 10 years, used to absolutely love tomatoes and hates when me or anyone in my family pet/held other kids.

He crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday in my arms, in the same room in which is used to sleep/study during my college days and in my arms. Honestly I'm unable to either process or digest the fact that he is not here with me anymore.

Take care of simba and give some tomato from my side. Thanks :)

Oh my gosh, that's really terrible man πŸ˜” it's heartbreaking to even think of them gone and it's unfair they get to live such shorter life than us... RIP angel...sorry for the loss my friend

True that. My father passed away couple year ago and took me some time to accept the fact that he's gone. When my first dog passed the mortal dimension I was devastated cuz he got hit by a drunk driver on bike and then he got paralyzed and died few months later due to trauma and I couldn't do anything ever after trying hard to get him on his feet... At some point I believe my heart has learnt to move on carrying the best of those memories we created and that alone bring tears to my eyes also a faded smile on my lips

Cause I had a hell of a time Know that I had the time of my life So remember me and smile All of the souls heading back home down a one-way road So it goes ....

Until the caskets close

I'm learning, learning detachment. I'm not trying to forget them but learning to live without them being here and realising it's alright.

And so they say, life goes on. :)

Brother. I know how that feels. My little 'Devil' also crossed the rainbow bridge in my arms. Hello had some water from my hands, looked me in the eye, and sighed over the bridge.

I used to have nightmares of that moment for a few years after. I couldn't bring myself to adopt another, or take the responsibility of another soul on my hands.

And then, one of these little guys just screamed and barked and whined into my life again. I had to rescue him and treat him medically because I couldn't hear tower him suffer. He chose me, or so I'd like to think. And things have been just so different ever since.

He's my soul dog. He named himself TukTuk (the brown one in the photo), took care of me, forced me to confront my darkness and depression. Forced me to come out of it. He understands my words. I never tried to train him. I just speak to him like he's human. It's been 5+ glorious years.

I found my wife because of him. Well, he liked her instantly and kinda prefers her over me (and I'm a bit salty over it). We rescued and adopted another puppy because of him. Named her Kiki (she behaves like a privileged witch) - the white one in the photo

Devil and tuktuk, they taught me to give love, regardless of the outcome. To be gentle and patient. To never give up. Most importantly, they taught me to give love to the one that need love the most. To be open to possibilities, and that opening up is the best way to heal.

I hope you do the same. Adopt another of these pure souls.

I'm happy fo you bro.

I do wish that I get enough courage to let them in again. But rn it is very difficult.

Honestly I'm getting dreams of loosing him everytime I close my eyes. Yesterday whole room smelled like him. But today when I woke up, I can't smell him anymore in the same room. But sometimes while rinding my bike I'm able to smell him. When I stand I feel like he's sitting right next to me.
Tomorrow I'm going back to blr from my hometown, i just wish his soul to rest in peace and get a much better live and touch my soul somehow again.

I understand. These next few days and weeks will be the hardest. Take hope that brighter days await....and the brightest when you adopt another and give them the same love.

The brother that crossed the rainbow bridge would also want that the most.

I still hurt in my chest when I think of Devil. But also solace, when I realise that I'm doing exactly what he would have wanted- giving the same love to other doggos.

Afterall, we have doggos in our lives to teach us love, loyalty and determination.

This is such a true facts.

Thanks bro for sharing it with me. :)

I'll just be happy if I can help another soul in processing their grief....and making the world a better place for our amazing doggos. All doggos actually, but indies have a special place in my heart.

I'm an evolutionary and molecular biologist and their history is fascinating

2

u/indianhippie24 Jul 10 '26

Oh is it.

Would love to understand some of it sometime.

You're a good Hooman.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '26

ONLY reason I don't have the heart to have another pet is the fact we live longer than them. πŸ₯Ή

That's a genuine problem! Please don't cheat on other doggos. Focus on her Only and Her Tomatos eating skills. Or you will be fired by the lady πŸ˜‚

Oh yes yes πŸ˜‚ she is always getting what she wants when she wants on terms of her mother as s well

It's an indie, Indian pariah

2

u/Suggest_genuineSpots Jul 10 '26

One of my two fury companions lost her battle to cancer last year!
The memories of her started playing in my head and seeing this..
What she used to do is.. whenever either of me and my family members used to come homes from somewhere.. she used to sniff around us first.. literally everywhere..
If she can’t detect any other dog was in contact she used to get all Lovy-Davy and if she Figured out slight of the smell of another dog on us she used to walk away slowly at her place and sit there saddly!

2

u/Ok_Emu_5744 Jul 11 '26

This is Looshi the Mooshi. She looks like Simba. She doesn't like tomatoes.

1

u/deathbencher Jul 11 '26

Hello to looshi the mooshi...she does resembles a lot yesss...and Tomato is simba speciality, what is mooshi ka speciality 🀩

2

u/Ok_Emu_5744 Jul 11 '26

She can pass through the gaps of our gate. I have 5 dogs and she is the only one who is slim enough to pass through our gate even when it is closed. Therefore, she is always free to roam around as per her wish. That is her speciality
