So I got bored one day.
Bought some parts. Scavenged others that I already had.

I failed my first try (started too early without software updates π«£) but this run seems a lot more promising! Iβm seeing green everywhere. π€π± Welcome tomatoes! (There will be many, 9 pods on the left)
Itβs a cool smart garden. Now sits in my living room corner and itβs looks donβt disappoint!

Does anyone know why these dill plants get this reddish hue? Should I replant them or are they okay?

1g/l nitrocal, 1g/l campbells diamond white , medium coco coir
ph 6.3 ec 2.5
My strawberry leaves are all having these brown tips when growing and aren't producing a lot of new growth; does anybody know why this is?

I harvested all the peppers today, as the first ground frost is due this evening. The harvest amounts to about 2.5 kg of lovely, though partly unripe, peppers and about 1.5 kg of less attractive ones. The harvest comes from 2 plant.
I' m very surprised of this amount.

Will prob change this to weekly since there really isnβt much going on.
Update: gf made me these covers wrapped in tinfoil under with a small viewable portion to monitor aerator and roots in back. Very hard to capture via camera though so skipped it. No longer need to fiddle about with crumbled tinfoil after every update now, thankfully.
Root still look healthy, no visible rot today. Leaves remain healthy on first pic however, second plant still dried up, looking for new growth now for any sign of recovery.
Third picture, not exactly sure how to cover this one. He has a large root development system under, while I kept a majority under, couple remain in the air while I try to keep crown out of the moisture. Seems he has some partial rhizome development, even though it is very small.
All crowns remain firm and show no apparent sign of rot.
Stats:
EC and TDS remain stable approx 950-1000/450-500 respectively.
Temp last 12H - 62.2 F
RH 12H - 85 - trying to lower it very slowly to increase VPD during day. Not going below 85 currently though
pH remain stable now: avg all 4 - 6.04 - will leave them for couple days now alone as they recover more.
Odds of survival: No longer bleak - about 3% now. Will post next update either next Sunday or midweek!

Looking for some ideas. I've ran enough hydrogen peroxide through this thing that my hands are covered in burns... I have my Sicce sump blasting h202 solution in cycle. Rised it out with hot water. Hit it with a Q-tip and its still pretty brown inside. I also did a baking soda solution through it. Any and all ideas are appreciated. I'd like to reuse the manifold if possible.

Over the past year or so I've been developing an aquarium controller, a device capable of monitoring water levels, checking for leaks and also watching values like PH, ORP, EC and TDS.
It's been developed for reef aquariums but it would be perfect for hydroponics!
To enable others to be able to build a controller like mine ive put the parts into a kit and today is the last day of the presale, if you would like a v3 controller please order soon.
The pre sale stops at 12:00 (GMT)
You can find it with a quick Google search for "marine assistant aquarium controller "

I have 2 plants in this 20 gallon reservoir. The ec is 1.5 and I plan on a water change tomorrow to get back to 2.2. The ph is 6 and has stayed in the optimal range. Iβm using the masterblend formula. Any ideas why this plant is wilting? I have a lot of air feeding it but could the other plant be choking it out? The flowers are also real small and compact compared to the other plant

hey gang! first post here
I'm here because I've been growing hydroponically for a few years now, and I always knew my herbs could be stronger scent and taste than they are. this summer I grew an outdoor garden as well and my (specifically) basil and dill smelled so much stronger outdoors than in my hydro system. I use the same seeds. I use a 4-3-6 fertilizer specifically designed for hydroponics. thoughts?

So last Friday afternoon, I adjusted my EC from 1.8 to 2.0. Then Saturday morning, I found this. I already lowered the EC, but just to make sure, I want to know if it is nutrient burn or a fungal infection? This never happened before and all my crops are affected. I even went higher EC before but this never happened.
The leaves are wet, I just sprayed organic pesticide this morning, since pest population are already increasing fast.
More pictures in the comment.

I'm experimenting, but the one seed that sprouted just gave up and rotted.

Hello Iβm just getting started in this hobby. I am using some dwc gardens indoors and enjoying it. So I want to branch outdoors. I have a large concrete patio that I want to try it on.
I live in a hot climate 100+ at times so Iβm concerned about the heat. Iβm brainstorming what type of system to build. From my limited research it looks like a Dutch bucket system my be my best option? Iβm thinking I can keep a tank underneath the shade and drop a big container of ice in it before heading to work.
Any advice or better ideas ?

Looking better today. Was able to stop the supposed root rot early yesterday and roots seem healthier today. New buds on couple of them are appearing however lots of the petioles on one are completely dried to a crisp and stressed leaves removed.
Odd of survival: still bleak
DWC soln stats
Avg 12 h - 63F
Avg 12 h rH - 88.3
TDS - 450-500 ppm
EC -950 - 1100
pH drift - 6.90, reduced to 6.01
Ppfd 110

I know that it's bad and stupid to grow tomatoes in an aerogarden.
I reused a RooTrimmer plug that I thought failed to grow basil - and a few weeks of not paying attention later I realized I was the proud father of a tomato plant.
I harvested and transplanted everything else out of the 2L basin because I knew this guy would kill his neighbors.
I'm feeding Jack's veggie every 2 weeks, and have occasionally dumped some leftover Jack's 3-2-1 from a separate hydroponic grow into this tank.
I've added an additional 40w full spectrum light since the plain aerogarden only has like 20w. I've got a small circulation fan on it.
I'm concerned about the deep green and the handful of spots with burns.
I already know that a 2L tank is completely insufficient for tomatoes; but the root system is too large to transplant unless I wanted to do something goofy like move the entire aerogarden lid onto a 5 gallon bucket ( which actually sounds like not a bad idea now that I'm typing it... )
Is this level of deep green normal? In many plants it isn't.
