Equipment Is anyone using the 16 gallon Vevor conical?
https://www.vevor.com/beer-brewing-system-c_11816/vevor-pressure-fermenter-15-psi-16-gal-60l-all-in-one-stainless-steel-conical-secondary-fermentation-bucket-with-cooling-tube-yeast-slurry-collection-bottle-for-wine-beer-brewing-equipment-p_010950172826Has anyone picked up one of the 16 gallon Vevor conical fermenters? I currently do all my fermenting in kegs with floating dip tubes and it’s been wonderfully easy and effective. But, like any hobby, I’m always looking for something new. Anyone tried them out?

I have the 16 Gal model, and my overall impression is that it is good for the price. The welds and finish all feel solid and I've had no issues with cleaning. The tank itself, lid, tri-clamp hardware and butterfly valve are all good quality. The biggest issue that I've had with the pressure capable model is getting the lid to seal properly. It takes a little work to get the rubber seal to sit properly and lubed up with keg lube so it doesn't leak when tightened down. Once it is seated it will hold usually 10-12 psi without any other issues. The sample valve is the same one as on the other bucket fermenters and does not have a rotating racking arm. I've done around 4 batches in mine, if there are any other questions I will do my best to answer them.

Awesome info. Thanks for sharing.
Does the coil attach to the two outer fittings on the lid?

How think is the metal on this thing? And, the top port with the clamp. Is that a 2 inch tri clover fitting?
Reason I ask is because if the metal isn't too thin I can drill a hole in the side down low and install a electric heating element. And, if the port on the lid is a 2 inch tri clover I can put a distiller column on it and have a decent still. What kid of seal does the lid have? Is the unit durable enough for this?

I have the Vevor 5 gallon version and it's pretty nice for the price. I've fermented in kegs before but prefer the fermenter mostly because I have mine wrapped in a heater for brews with Kveik since I am impatient.

It looks they’ve upgraded it quite a bit from the old bucket style fermenters with the rubber bung on top. For $320 I may snag one just to try out.
Or maybe I’ll wait for all the SS Brewtech stuff to go on clearance…

Also interested to hear what people's experience has been. The 8 gallon is marked down 25% on Amazon. Seems like a great deal for a pressure rated conical.

I actually got one and liked it so much I got a second, they are my go to steel fermenters. Easy to clean, no issues holding up to 15psi so you can do spunding. And I wrap a chilling blanket around them so I can temp control and cold crash. I recommend them for the price, there’s nothing else on the market that fills this need for this price point.

I am not really looking to set up a pressured system yet so I was looking at the 7gal Vevor conical for around $152 CAD on amazon. I was also looking at the same size Mammoth V2 one that is about $199ish? I think the biggest differences are the legs and the fact the mammoth v2 has a thermowell for the thermometer to keep it contact free from the beer and the Vevore has the thermo just attaches on/in? Also quality of Vevor is hit or miss from what I hear.
From what I have read and looked into they are both pretty low/mid quality at best but great for starting out moving from buckets to stainless if you don't have that huge a budget. I may go with the Mammoth myself and see what it is like.
If you get yours first let me know what the quality is like. I could let you know about the mammoth if/when I get it but I don't think they have a pressurized set up if that is specifically what you are after. If pressurized is what you want maybe check out SS brewtech later on in the year so see if any of theirs go on sale as they close.

Fair, I am not that advance yet to do pressure fermenting and just trying to move from a bucket to something more durable.

To add to this question, if anyone who has any size VEVOR fermentor could post pics and/or comment on the quality of the welds and the finish inside the fermentor, as well as whether there are hard to clean places on inside, that would be helpful to the community.
