Ray Tracing on the GBC Console in Pokémon Ruby XD

Hi everyone! I’m releasing version 1.0 of my English translation of Shin SD Gundam Gaiden: Knight Gundam Monogatari for the Game Boy.

The patch translates the dialogue, menus, item descriptions, and instructions, as well as the opening, title screen, and Super Game Boy border lettering.

I’ve played through the game and manually reviewed the translation. The English reads naturally, and I haven’t found any bugs so far. It’s also been tested in Game Boy and Super Game Boy modes, including password compatibility.

Download the English v1.0 BPS patch

You’ll need your own copy of the Japanese ROM and a BPS-compatible patcher. No ROM is included.

I’m considering this release finished for now, but feedback is welcome! If you encounter any issues, please share a screenshot and details about where they happened.

My mom had an Gameboy when she was a kid and for her birthday I’d like to get a refurbished Gameboy. To be honest I’m not very good with tech and nor is she I’m just looking for a reliable source that I can buy one from if one even exists. Any advice would be appreciated!

I really thought a turn-based bullet hell game would end up like a mix between Superhot and Into the Breach, and it turned out I was pretty close. If any of you have the time, I just released the completed GBA version of a game idea that's been floating in my head for quite a while.

I have a demo up on itch, and a paid version if you vibe with it. It has been getting a decent amount of interaction, so I updated the demo to include more levels and a full "run" as thanks! No generative AI was used with this project at any point, just good ole blood and tears. Had some help from some IRL friends with the artwork I commissioned, their info is linked as well. I’ve recently gotten real big into collecting older Nintendo consoles and i’ve always wanted a GBA, now i’ve finally got one and it’s sick as hell! (it’s obvious not an original it’s refurbished but it looks so cool)

Homebrew tape player for the GBA. You burn your favorite songs onto a cartridge, like making a mixtape, and carry it around. Rewind and fast-forward even make the tape noises.

The one in the photo is a live album off my CD shelf. Runs on a stock SP with a flash cart.

I knew it was around here somewhere, and I can’t believe it still works, the hours I’ve put in grinding on Pokémon blue shouldve wore this thing out a while ago

In short, I've been playing through Pokemon red, and am going to buy my gf blue soon. As I understand it, the only way to get all three starters is to trade with other players

Theoretically, I could trade a starter on blue for a burner pokemon (i.e. ratatta), reset the game, and do it again to have all three on red. My question is, if I got an extra set of the starters, could I trade them back once she starts her playthrough so she has all three as well? Or is there some kind of lock stopping you from trading already traded ones?

Playing on two SPs with an original GB link cable if that matters

Last week, I started playing Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 on original hardware and after just a few days, I am blown away by how good this game looks, how smooth it runs and how much content it has. And it make me seriously think that this is not just better than Super Mario Land 2, but may be the best gameboy platformer.

What do you think about these games and also what is your favorite platformer on the Gameboy?

Title is pretty self explanatory. When playing my gameboy games on my gba, usung the EZ Flash Omega flashcart, there’s several palettes you can choose from. Including one called “Pea Soup” which replicates the original green tint. I really like using this palette, but it’s a little annoying to have to switch to that palette every time I start a game.

Is there any way to make this the default palette so I can just start a game with this tint color?

Just picked this up today after wanting it complete for some time. Going to be my first ever playthrough! During covid I experienced Secret of Mana for the first time and it has since become my favorite JRPG alongside Chrono Trigger. Anyways all this time years later even collecting Gameboy I had no idea with the final fantasy games on Gameboy that this was actually the first game of the Mana series! (I thought it was part of the final fantasy legend series or etc)

Anyways I thought I would share with you all! Cannot wait to play this 35 year old game for the first time ever!!

I have a very specific mod idea for my gbc and I need this specific shell to complete my vision. I am planning on using the glacier blue button replacements from extremerate and combining them with the luminous blue shell because I think the colors compliment each other. The problem that I'm having is that funnyplaying doesn't have the luminous blue shell in stock and I'm struggling to find something that looks similar. Any chance there's a place I haven't looked yet or if I just need to find a whole different style?

I was also thinking about doing this to my gba sp instead, because funnyplaying has a similar shell for that handheld that is in stock, but then I run into the opposite problem where I can't find buttons that match the look of the shell, and extremerate doesn't sell the gba sp glacier blue buttons separately from the glacier blue shell unfortunately.

I’ve made it just a little less than halfway in golden sun and it’s been really fun right now I’m at the Xian village, and it got me thinking would it be worth getting lost age?

Power will not turn on! I’ve scrubbed and scrubbed the battery contacts with 91% isopropyl alcohol and some corrosion still remains - considering purchasing some replacements. Anyone more knowledgeable than me see any other issues? Some of the copper plate looks pretty rough as well.

I have a GBA SP AGS-101 that won’t charge. So far I’ve tried swapping the battery and cable, the contacts and connections on the charge port do not appear to be damaged, but I cleaned them up anyway, and I checked the EM8, but it shows continuity on all 4 connections.

Kind of at a loss at this point, and would like to see if I can get any advice on what else I can check before I go through the trouble of blindly swapping out parts or performing miscellaneous sacrificial rituals until it starts working again.

im thinking to purchase everdrive gba pro but i keep wondering, does it have sleep mode now like ezode or it still didnt support. for your info i really value sleep mode on the gba as it helps me pause games during my work shift so i didn't lose my progress
