🤔 Thinking The tragic downfall of The Flash

Someone explain to me how a show like this can go from absolute peak that is seasons 1 through 3 to absolute dogshit that is the final episode of season 7.. I'm trying to be hopeful and optimistic because I'm a huge Flash fan but I don't know how much longer I can force myself to continue watching the show after the bullshit they pulled at the end of season 7. It feels like I'm torturing myself at this point.

The first two seasons were absolute peak, season 3 was good but could be better, season 4 was where I started to realize Barry was being nerfed more than ever. Like I know Devoe is a super genius but he's still human, he shouldn't be able to defeat a speedster in any capacity, especially considering that the Flash can technically outsmart him due to his speed. This was my only issue, but nothing to make me stop watching the show.

Then season 5 came, and I'm not gonna lie, at first I thought Cicada was a badass villain but at some point in the show, I lost interest in this villain and I only stayed for Nora (maybe I'm just optimistic, but I don't think she's a bad character, she's actually one of my favorites.) because I found her character entertaining and amusing. Season 6 was decent, Bloodwork was a pretty cool villain, not gonna lie, and having Barry become Dark Flash was really cool too but it's a shame it was short-lived, I loved the concept of an evil Flash. I didn't really care much for Crisis, although I do miss all the different versions of Dr. Wells, so I was obviously disheartened by their deaths, as they were among my favorite characters in the show. The Mirrorverse arc was decent but I think it could've been better. Season 7 was okay-ish? maybe a worse than that, honestly I don't know, I think Godspeed is an interesting character and they should've done more with his character though. It sucks that Cisco left Team Flash though, that part stung, he was like my top 3 favorite characters right next to Barry and Caitlin. And speaking of Caitlin, the separation of Frost and Caitlin was unexpected but I don't mind it, I think it was a pretty "cool" change, pun intended.

I'm on the first episode of season 8 right now, and I heard that the Armageddon arc is the only good part about this season, then afterwards, it goes back to being dogshit as usual. I just wanted to know what other people thought, hopefully I'm not alone in thinking the creators really fumbled the bag with this one. The Flash could've been one of the greatest shows of all time fr, it's a shame to see what it has become. The downfall of what was once an amazing show really needs to be studied, like how do you fumble THIS badly that you have to resort to pulling out shit straight outta Star Wars?

I do want to know how much worse S8 and S9 will get before I decide to continue though (I heard S8 is about Reverse Flashpoint, but I'm not sure what S9 is about). I don't mind the spoilers, the show pretty much already ruined any remaining hope that I had left in it.

Misc Even despite the changes made to his character and backstory, I maintain that the Arrowverse did the perfect adaptation of Wally West. I just wish we could have seen more of him as the official Flash.

It's been a while since I've visited CW Flash but if there's one thing I remember it's that some of the episode titles sounded really cool so what are some of your favorites?

🤔 Thinking Which relationship you wanted to see on the show?

We’ve seen a lot of relationships on the show with Barry and iris, Joe and Cecile, Ronnie and Caitlin and etc… I wanted to ask y’all in your opinion, which characters did you want to see in a relationship and tell me why?

Schwaypost That costume was actually complete horseshit it actually would’ve been more fitting in the era when the show actually turned into shit.

Spoilers Why fight zoom if going back in time anyways? Spoiler

I just watched season 3 episode 1, but I’m confused. What’s the point in fighting zoom in the first place if he’s just gonna go back in time and save his mom, which would have prevented zoom from ever getting to earth 1? No spoilers please.

🤔 Thinking I just realized something. So a long time ago my brother said that Eddie could just shoot eobard instead himself and killed him! Thats a really good point!

Spoilers Barry's Inconsistencies

Barry’s inconsistent power level is probably my biggest problem with the later seasons

I’m rewatching The and I think the biggest thing I have to ignore to enjoy the later seasons is how ridiculously inconsistent Barry’s speed becomes.

By the later seasons, Barry is essentially a god. We’ve seen him enter Flashtime, move while a nuke is basically frozen, and fight speedsters like Thawne at insane speeds. Yet somehow a few episodes later he can get hit by someone who realistically shouldn’t even be able to perceive him moving.

I understand that Barry can’t instantly defeat every villain or there wouldn’t be a show, but I wish they found better ways to challenge him instead of constantly forgetting how powerful they established him to be.

The finale is probably the worst example.

They bring back Zoom, Savitar, Godspeed and Thawne, which should have been the ultimate payoff to nine seasons of Barry becoming stronger. These are villains who were terrifying when Barry originally fought them, but Season 9 Barry should be FAR beyond the Barry they fought in their respective timelines.

Instead of finally showing us just how powerful Barry had become and letting him take on his greatest speedster enemies, they split them up among Team Flash and have characters like Cecile and Khione defeat villains who once required everything Barry had just to survive.

Are Cecile is going back to previous seas9ns and beating Godspeed? And Caitlen against Zoom😂😭

Imagine if the finale had Barry fight all of them himself. Zoom, Savitar, Godspeed and Thawne attack him together, and we finally see that the Barry Allen from Season 9 is on an entirely different level from the kid they used to terrorize.

It would have been such a perfect way to show how far he had come.

I love this show, especially those first few seasons, but man did the power scaling get ridiculous.

Question Original Timeline Fanfiction/Iris find out first/early Fanfiction/Elseworld stories

Hi! This is my first time posting on here, so I don't know if there is a specific subreddit for this kind of stuff. I'm looking for any Elseworld like stories that may be out there. Stuff like, Iris being the one in the know in Season 1 instead of Joe, or a Fanfic that follow the original timeline before Thawne screws it up by killing Barry's Mother, or just any Elseworld like fic that may be out there, I'd love to read them. I know that Fanfiction has a, well deserved, bad reputation but if anyone has anything like what I'm describing, then I'd love to have them.

Cheers!

I need to hear peoples thoughts on how they felt abt ralphs disappearance
I know why he was fired but i dont think it was fair
I like the character elongated man so much in this show and he was like the perfect side kick for the flash i feel the fact that they made him a “soul protector” of central city and just got rid of him was bit to far just for some tweets in 2014
Also MIRROR MONARCH WAS AHHHHHHHHH i hate her like she was fine just fine until the fights and everything AND HOLDING HANDS ? like omfg talk abt flash using speeches to win fights like this one was number 1 speech to win a fight absolute bs

🤔 Thinking Why did Reverse Flash’s character changes after Season 5?

Thumbnail

S1-S5 Eobard was one of the best written villians on tv. He was cold, calculative and always felt one step ahead against everyone in the show. One thing I loved about him is how he seemed to care for Team flash in his own twisted way, yet despite that, it didn’t stop him from doing what he had to do.

Now when he first appears in S6 something feels off about him. He gets Cisco in a room alone then tries to strangle him? This scene never made sense because 1. He should’ve immediately notice he had no connection to the Negative Speed Force
2. Why would he try to kill Cisco when his goal is to return home? Wouldn’t it be smarter to pretend to be Nash until he regains control over his Speedforce again?
He also talks about wanting to slit Barry’s throat and kill all his friends which also sounds out of character for him because again, he just wants to go home. Now as the series progressed he got more cartoonish and erratic showing no resemblance to the calculative, patient villian we all saw in the previous seasons.

Misc Writing an alternate season three where Flashpoint was half of the season here is Episodes 1-3, 1 and 2 are shorter synopses but episode 3 is a pretty long breakdown. Spoiler

Episode 1 Barry wakes up at his crime lab in central city and goes about his day with no qualms but using no super speed under the pretense that he’s “gonna take it slow today” have the whole episode be him investigating a crime just as a CSI and really flex that section of his capabilities. At various points in the episode give background hints that not everything is right, a statue of captain cold in the background, new reports of a war but not giving specifics. The episode ends with an attack of the rogues minus captain cold at the Central City Stars Stadium and when he tries to use super speed to go to help he can't.
Episode 2 the rogues are still holding up the stadium as Barry runs around town at normal speed trying to figure out what happened, he’s on the way to STAR labs when he gets a call from his mom and you can hear his dad talking in the background, realizing his parents are alive he turns around and rushes home turning just in time not to notice that STAR labs has been condemned and never reopened. Barry arrives home and talks with his parents in a very emotional scene and Barry realizes time is messed up he spends a little figuring out what exactly has changed and sees that citizen cold is the hero of central city, he goes to find him and reveals what he knows of the rogues and assists using his CSI and police capabilities. Citizen cold ends up taking them down and thanks Barry and asks what he plans to do next Barry says go see a friend and we see him driving into star city.
Episode 3 Barry enters star city, the city is chaos, crime rampant in the streets with no police in sight, makes his way to queen mansion to see it looking abandoned he looks around and finds Robert queen in one of the upper rooms looking out the window Robert turns around and shoots him in the leg with a bow, Barry yells at him like in the rainbow raider episode when Oliver shot him, Robert moves in and draws the bow aiming at Barry's chest asking him why he is there, Barry explains that he was a friend of Oliver's and is looking for him Robert says that's not a funny joke and Oliver has been dead for 8 years going down with the queens gambit, Barry is shocked and then puts together the pieces that Robert survived and washed up on Lian Yu and spent the five years there making an offhanded comment about earth 2 but then rationalizes that it cant be because star labs wasn't there. Robert tells him to shut up and says again to explain Barry says that something has happened to time and that this isn't how the world should be, that Oliver should be alive. Robert says to prove it and starts going through Barry’s stuff while going through a bag a gold ring falls out that Barry recognizes and tells him that there is a super suit in there and that should prove it Robert messes with the ring and the reverse flash’s suit comes out Barry looks and it dawns that reverse flash must’ve gone back and stopped himself from killing Barry's mom. Robert, who is convinced, asks again if Oliver is alive in Barry's timeline, Barry responds yes and tells Robert that Oliver is a hero, Robert says he’ll help, but doesn’t know how. At that moment an alert goes off saying that Deathstroke is attacking queen industries downtown, Robert pulls a statue on a bookshelf and the bookshelf slides away to show an elevator to the arrow cave, on the ride down Barry asks what happened to star city and Robert explains that he couldn’t see through his Moira and Malcolm in time to stop the Undertaking and the device had destroyed much of star city even beyond the glades causing the whole city to descend into chaos and then since then Deathstroke has been working on bringing Robert down, killing Thea and Moira, and attacking the city every couple of weeks to make sure he feels the pain, Barry assures him that he will stop all of this from ever having happened and Robert says you better as he turns around and puts on the hood. Robert leaves to fight Slade and Barry runs comms and after learning about Slade he thinks he can wipe his system of the mirakuru and gets to work on a cure, Robert takes the motorcycle to downtown and starts beating up Slade's men Robert gets to Slade right as Barry finishes the cure Barry starts rushing to downtown with the cure loaded in an arrow and gets there right as Robert gets hit to the ground making his bow slide back and Barry picks it up. As Deathstroke raises his sword to finish Robert, Barry pulls back the bow with the cure and shoots him in the chest causing him to fall, he helps up Robert and helps him limp to the car and drives him back, Robert asks what they need to do now to fix time and Barry says they need to get his speed back and the episode ends.

Schwaypost Barry and Iris Are Not Siblings, and WestAllen Is Not Incest

Joe took Barry in when he was eleven, making him Barry’s foster parent. When Barry turned eighteen, he was no longer Joe’s legal responsibility, but Joe continued to care for him because he loved him like a son.

Barry and Iris are not adoptive siblings because Joe never legally adopted Barry. They aren’t step-siblings because Joe never married one of Barry’s parents, and they aren’t half-siblings because they share no biological parent. They were raised together, but that doesn’t automatically make them siblings.

And no, Barry and Iris are not incestuous. They aren’t biologically related. You can find their relationship uncomfortable because they grew up together, but that’s different from calling it incest.

The Flash vs. Red Death (9x05), shooting lightning like iron man blasts, Barry having a physical captain america shield of lighting, and this disgrace of a a SPIDER-MAN WEB SLING OUT OF LIGHTING. Eric Wallace should be banned from Hollywood.
