Discussion How did you guys discover EndeavourOS?
I first came across EndeavourOS when I was looking for a lightweight and fast Linux distro for my old laptop.
Someone suggested that I give EndeavourOS a try, so I decided to install it and see how it goes.
I honestly hadn’t heard much about it before that.
And honestly, I was pretty surprised by how fast and responsive it felt on my old laptop.
I didn’t really expect a distro like this to run so smoothly on older hardware.
It actually made me wonder why I hadn’t discovered EndeavourOS sooner.
Now I’m curious — how did you guys discover EndeavourOS in the first place?
Was it recommended by someone, or did you find it while browsing through different Linux distros?

For me, it was the spiritual successor to the Antergos project when Antergos ended. Since launch, it has been all I liked about Antergos, and more, with a fantastic community that gives members way more than Arch's RTFM. Connect with the EnOS community and WELCOME!

Wanted Arch without having to reinstall everything I wanted every time I installed Arch (I've already done the vanilla install from scratch once before and I don't want to do it again), but I also didn't want an "overhaul" option like CachyOS or Manjaro.
So, for now, I run EndeavourOS with CachyOS repos.

I had Fedora Silverblue on my laptop and Cachy on my wife's old laptop (MacBook Air 2014) that I was using more often than mine. I think I used Cachy for two weeks.
My laptop (MacBook Pro 2015) that had a swollen battery and got worse to the point that I got scared. I managed to remove the battery but damaged a cable in the process and the keyboard and pad stopped working.
Then I decided to swap the hard drives and install Cachy fresh. However I read a news about the Titan Nova release and decided to install EOS instead.
Last week ago I bought one ThinkPad E15 and installed Endeavour straight away.
And that's how I switched over to EOS.

I was exploring Manjaro, there was some issues with some update stuff and security exploits if I recall, then some YouTubers at that time were recommending Endeavour as an alternative. And I'm so glad I tried it because in more than 5-6 years, I've never had to look for another one. My best experience using Linux.

I started with Cinnarch, switched to Antergos, and eventually ended up with EndeavorOS.

I stumbled across Antergos while distro hopping and stayed when it became EndeavourOS.

I discovered it through one of Diinki's ricing videos on YouTube (though I ended up just using KDE lol)

Wanted something lightweight but familiar to me as I had owned and used the Steam Deck in Desktop Mode - but wanted something that felt more like a computer. I looked up online and Endeavor checked every box I needed for it.

Colleague recommended it to me, I was never a fan of Mint given how outdated the interface is, so I gave it a shot and have used it everywhere since.

I was investigating Arch Linux, saw a cool wallpaper on one of the images and did some more digging bingo EndeavourOS. I really like it.

Probably DistroWatch. When I was starting to commit to Linux, I downloaded several different distros. I wanted to try a few based on Fedora, a few based on Arch, OpenSuse, and Fedora. I tried EOS, Manjaro, and raw Arch as the Arch-based distros. I ended up on EOS because it is pretty close to vanilla arch, but I really liked the theming. It gives a great KDE experience, which is my preferred DE.

I knew I wanted to try an Arch based distro and after some minimal research EndeavourOS rose to the top. Extremely happy with my decision.
This was just before the influencers started to push CachyOS. I still can't believe how much press it gets vs. how little EndeavourOS does. Hoping that EndeavourOS doesn't fade away...

Migrated from Antergos. Found that by looking for a rolling release distro with a great community.

It was whispered in my ear by a little angel some day, I was minding my own biz, but I listened. Both my desktop and laptop are running (first install) Eos. From that day on I never heard that angel again. That is now 4 years ago.
Long story short.. it’s great!

I was an arch linux user since 2004, and I was looking for a lightweight alternative, easy to install, easy to maintain, but keeping the same philosophy behind arch linux. I tried Manjaro but then I switched to Antergos but it was discontinued at 2019. Finally looking for an alternative, I found EndeavourOS, and now I'm a very happy user. I love it.

I wanted to try Arch without the purist route to install it. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt about 25 years ago. I'm older and lazier now.

I was on manjaro and then they went "corporate". I copped a millennium ban for telling one of the new admins their fortune. Endeavour was a breath of fresh air and been with it ever since. Their forum is the nicest forum ever. I should visit it again

Same. Looking for something to keep my '09 MacBook running. Read about it online tested it in Distrosea and VM and I'm hooked. My family are more Mint-flavored, but Linux is Linux

I had an underpowered laptop that was struggling to handle Ubuntu. i decided to take a look at, frankly, a LOT of distros. made a list and all, noting key aspects especially RAM usage. learned of endeavourOS when focusing on Arch based distros, and turned it into a live disk. it worked!
