Question Holy Wow: bill increase

I just got the notification from Apple that my price for DisneyPlus annual is moving from $79.99 to $189.99, a full $110 jump. That's crazy! Was I stuck in some time vortex and underpaying for a year or what in the heck happened?

When it first came out, we bought in for 3 years for a TOTAL of like $120. It was like a launch special to get people to sign up. Then we got a free year from Verizon. That all averaged out to $2.50/month. Times have certainly changed!

So annoying how people bring up the 3 years for $120 everytime there is a price increase. It was an offer to get people to sign up to compete with Netflix. It was never the expected base price
