Etsy Do you think the price is reasonable?

I am just starting to try sell my wooden art online.

Sadly, with all the work and the fees, I don't think I can go below 23.90€ per bookmark.

They are made by hand from many different type of wood veneer, sanded and oiled.

What do you think? Is it reasonable?

There's more items and pics in the shop:

Etsy Punch needle Business Help

hey, I have started a community based punch needle business in Pakistan by training women, the concept is to provide them projects at home and we keep check by frequent home visits. I have close to 1.5k followers on Instagram and people seem to like what we are doing.

We have made wall hangings and rugs but haven’t been able to make any sales which put me in a very bad spot as I am completely cash strapped.

In order to sustain the business, I am thinking to take Etsy route. but, I am having a hard time figuring out the product mix for Etsy, I mean should I only keep wall hanging and rugs or should I add cushion and coasters as well.

Also, I am not an artist, I can’t make designs on my own, I have to buy designs which is quite costly at least given my current state, is their an other way to navigate this issue, I want to keep things original.

Thank you all for your time, will appreciate the feedback.

Etsy Do people actually buy expensive patterns?

Post image
20 Upvotes

I do embroidery and I'm pretty skilled at this technique called thread painting and I want to make patterns of it.

There are 3 issues I'm thinking about:

-It takes waaaay too long to make a pattern.

- I'm afraid that when people see that they would think they can't do it.

- AI patterns taking over embroidery.

I'm in many embroidery groups on fb and I see most people using the cheapest kits.

Do people buy expensive patterns? especially in this economy (I'm in the US) when I say expensive digital patter I mean above 15$.

Disclaimer: the piece in the picture is not mine.

Etsy Png or Svg

Hi all! I am wanting to sell some of my designs on Etsy and was wondering- should I do the full detail PNG files or the simplified SVG files? Which ones sell better? Should I sell both on the same listing? I’m worries if I do that, people will be upset that the SVGs are a little different than the PNGs. Thanks for the input!

Etsy Starting an Etsy Shop

I’m thinking about starting a crochet Etsy shop to get some extra income as I’m currently in a period of unemployment until June and July, then I’m going back to uni in September for a year. I have good idea of a name, I designed a rough logo, and I know what I want to sell.

However I don’t want to accidentally make my hobby into something I eventually hate, so I would plan to take my time in making things and only sell things every now and again and maybe do a few commissions here and there. Although I know some of the basics to blocking, but I’ll obviously learn better beforehand.

Any opinions on what I should do? How do you even go about setting up an Etsy shop. I’m still really on the fence.

Etsy For wearable sellers, do you post yourself wearing your items for the product listing on your site/Etsy?

I've had a Etsy shop for a while but just recently posted all of my inventory of my crochet hats, tops, sweaters, and skirts. I did my first couple markets this month too and I got soooo many more sales at these two markets than my single sale on my Etsy shop. I was thinking if the differing factor is the fact that people can see the items on my as I was wearing a full outfit of a crochet hat, crop top, and maxi skirt. So I was wondering for people who make wearables, on your site for product pictures, do you post yourself wearing the garments? I have a bunch of pictures for each item indoors and outdoors and on mannequins or wig heads, but I'm wondering if that isn't resonating. I know in regular clothing stores there are models, but I was hesitant to wear the things I make that I am selling that are also in my size because I wasn't sure if the buyer would feel as if they are getting a "worn" product. Any thoughts or input is highly appreciated!

Etsy Does anyone here sell physical crochet items on Etsy with success?

Seems like the general idea here is that you shouldn’t sell physical crochet items on Etsy because it’s over saturated. Does anyone here sell physical items with success? And with success I mean like a cute side hustle or full time.

Etsy I have a 10% Conversion Rate but low traffic. Is $1k/mo realistic with $1.25 profit margins? (Crochet Patterns)

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some honest feedback on the scalability of my shop. I started my Etsy store earlier this year selling crochet PDF patterns, and generally, things feel like they are moving in the right direction. I’ve crossed 500 sales total (all organic, I haven't touched Ads yet) and I am sitting at a conversion rate of around 10%. I currently have 40 patterns listed, and my plan is to double my inventory by adding another 40 to 45 listings over the course of the next year.

The issue I’m facing is that while my conversion rate is great, my actual traffic volume is very low. On an average day, I’m getting about 3 to 5 sales. Because I am selling low-ticket digital items, my profit per sale is only about $1.25, meaning I’m currently only taking home around $50 a month. I understand that passive income takes time to build, but I'm trying to figure out if my end goal is actually mathematically possible with this business model.

My goal is to eventually earn between $700 and $1,000 monthly from this side hustle. To achieve that with my current margins, I calculate that I would need to consistently hit 20 to 25 sales every single day. Since I haven't used Etsy Ads yet (I'm worried the cost per click would eat my entire $1.25 profit margin), I am relying solely on SEO.

Is hitting that kind of daily volume realistic for a pattern shop? For those of you in the digital download niche, is 25 sales a day a reachable target, or am I daydreaming? I’d appreciate any advice on how to drive more traffic to listings that already convert well, or if I need to rethink my pricing strategy entirely.

Thanks in advance!

Etsy Etsy Shop

Hi! I'm a teenager who is struggling to find a job. My dad suggested starting a crochet Etsy shop to maybe make some extra money. Ive been thinking about doing this for a while but I don't know where to start. I would love to sell stuffed animals, blankets, headphone covers of some sort, but I have no idea how to price them. Any Etsy sellers, I would be so grateful to have your advice! I absolutely love crocheting and if that can make me money, that would be a dream!

Etsy Etsy shop checklist?

I am opening an Etsy shop just a casual one for friends and family to use to buy crochet items from me and anyone who happens to come across it. Nothing too serious but I do want to make a checklist of things I need to do before launching. For example, I need a stock, a logo, shipping supplies, etc. what else should I put on this checklist?

Etsy Should I use Etsy?

I want to start an online shop where I sell handmade stuff. I can't work right now and I make stuff anyway so I figure there's not much to lose. I can't do in person selling.

The idea was that I would use Etsy. The site has its own traffic and it's kind of the go to for handmade items. Or at least it was. However, I was reading about how much Etsy has gone downhill. I know they charge pretty significant fees now, and their site is oversaturated. Not just with handmade stuff like I'd sell, but a whole flood of AI garbage now. Which, apparently they allow and I don't love that.

But I have no idea where else I would go. Part of me wants to say screw it and just try it anyway, but I'm not very happy with the site overall after researching. But I like that I can organize what I'd sell and put in different color options and such. It may be oversaturated but they do have they're own traffic, which at least has a chance at helping in the beginning since I don't have much of a following. Also I've never done this before, and I know Etsy helps a lot as far as setting up, shipping, discount codes, etc. And they don't have an annual fee like some other sites, which I couldn't really do right now anyway.

I would love to hear what other people think about this and maybe get some advice on how I should proceed.

Etsy How do I start a crochet business via Etsy

basically i’m a full time student, i work 20 hours a week at my job and im applying for a second job on the weekends. i been crocheting for years and everyone tells me to sell my stuff and im really struggling. I need a side hustle to do but idk how to turn my crochet into a successful place on etsy. i’m scared of content creating because i know thats whats gonna get my stuff seen. but im embarrassed to post stuff on social media so that’s probably a hump i just need to push through. i dont know what sells the best. i used to have a successful jewelry shop on etsy before i moved states and i didnt want to make jewelry anymore but idk if crochet is going to be different than that. how do i build a community of people who would be interested in my stuff? idk where to start i just know i need to. thank you for any help.

Etsy What are some good project ideas for selling crochet/knitted stuff on Etsy

I'm a high school student (been crocheting for 9 years now) and I want to start selling on Etsy. Creating the patterns is no big deal, I can easily cross that bridge when I get there. But I have absolutely no clue whatsoever as to what would be cute ideas that would profit well.

I understand that my business won't be as profitable in its early stages, but I still want ideas that are eye-catching to buyers.

Etsy I want to create an Etsy shop selling crochet plushies but idk where to start

I'm a 17 year old girl who loves crochet plushies. Recently, I've decided to want to start an Etsy shop and sell them online. The problem is I'm not familiar with how shipping works, both internationally and locally. I'm scared that it would be really expensive and time consuming. I'm also not sure as to how I should market my goods to people. Finally, I am not sure where I could get yarn in bulk and at a cheaper price so my operational cost could be cheaper. If any of you amazing ppl have any experience in selling on Etsy or just online shops in general, I really hope you can give me some advice! Thanks

Etsy What projects sell well in markets?

I'm a crocheter and i've been crocheting for around 1 or 2 years. I'd consider myself advanced. I crochet plushies, i've crocheted beanies, i've crocheted tops, but i've always wanted to start a business. I use etsy but I haven't figured what to sell yet because i'm not sure what sells well. I'm a teen so I need some money to go out with friends and to buy things for my siblings but i'm still too young to get a job. I just would like to know what sells well so i can have a bit of money while having fun(crocheting is one of my FAVORITE things to do!) Thank u in advance for anyone who answers!!

Etsy Selling crochet crafts on Etsy?!

Hey people! I have been crocheting now for a few years (and yes, still loving it!). I was just wondering whether it’s worth selling some of my creations on Etsy?

I’m totally new to Etsy so not really sure what’s popular on there in the crochet world. What sort of stuff would sell well on Etsy?

I was thinking: face scrubbies, key chains, coasters bookmarks etc.

Please let me know! TIA! 🧶

Etsy what are the basics to selling your finished products on etsy?

a lot of people that know me label me as the "girl who crochets", and a lot of them have recommended me to sell more often or even sell online. im starting to warm up to the idea, especially because id be super cool to earn a bit of extra money, but i wanted to get personal advice/tips from people on here to see what worked for them. (my biggest concern right know is honestly just packaging and establishing an etsy shop, but anything at all to know would be super helpful!)
