Someone somewhere has to know how to clean this bounce house. It’s the castle one from Sam’s, fabric material. What can I put in that won’t compromise the fabric?

Kitchen Hardboiled eggs (shell removed) exploded in microwave — how do I safely clean yolk trapped behind the holes?

Stupid me who didn't know better microwaved an already hard-boiled, peeled egg, and it exploded. I've cleaned the interior, but I can still see small yolk particles behind the holes on the side wall where the lamp is (circled in red in the photo).

What can I do about it? Should I be worried about ants or mold or subsequent uses with these debris behind the holes?

Edit:

For anybody wondered why I did something that should have been common sense to not do it: our family had never had a microwave and only bought one for the first time more than a year ago or so. Even then, we don't use it regularly since we don't usually leave leftovers after a meal or cook anything that needs a microwave. As for me, I know not to put metals and stuff inside a microwave long before that from watching shows and surfing the web. But not about not microwaving eggs 💔. Mom might already know about it but not me!!! 😭

Anyhow, this morning mom boiled 2 eggs before going to work. I woke up later. She texted me to heat up the leftover foods and rice from last night in the fridge. I did as she told me when I went to have lunch. When I removed the shells and noticed the eggs were cold, I thought, why not also heat them up?

And that was how it came to this. It was definitely a learned lesson.

Solved What would be the best way to clean this vintage shell wind chime?

Thumbnail

Hello! I recently pulled this 70-80s era wind chime that was my grandmother's out of storage. She was a cigarette smoker and you can tell this needs a good cleaning. It is a metal frame with fishing line like string threading all of the shells. Would a soak in the bathtub with some dawn work? Or is this more of a clean hundreds of shells individually by hand kind of job? I obviously want to hang this up and try my best to prevent any damage so any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

Edit: thank you everyone! I thought dawn and the shower would be okay and wanted a second opinion! I will share results once I get it clean.

Laundry Is there any way for me to brighten these vintage cloth dolls that my great-grandmother hand made and embroidered?

Repost because I forgot to include the photo in my original post. These were handmade by my great-grandmother at least 35 years ago, although I don’t know for certain. They’re currently crucified hanging up to dry because I just put them through a gentle cycle. I was wondering if it would be safe to use Shout, OxiClean, or even bleach to help lift some of the yellowing? Thank you!

Bathroom -First time having my own apartment -1) What are these 2)How to Clean this?

so recently, I moved into this new apartment that required rent on the lesser side than the rest of the county. The apartment is also rent controlled. I got it by subleasing from an already existing tenant. but I still want to make this into a place. I enjoy coming back home to. for most of the apartment I have sort of figured out what I want to do to clean it up, but this bathroom baffles me. I cannot seem to find anything consistent online regarding this, but I would love some help.

Kitchen Accidentally had shallots rot in cabinet. How do I clean the wood, or at least minimize the stain?

Post image

I forgot about a bag of shallots and onions in my cabinet, and only now noticed that one had rotted and slightly liquified. I wiped it up with spray cleaner, (Power Force brand from Aldi, if it makes a difference,) but there's still some residue, and a bit of a stain. Idk if the stain will come out, but im looking for advice at least getting it as clean and new looking as possible. Thanks in advance!

Flooring Is this salvageable?

Post image

Edit: body outline crossed my mind too (it looks even more the case in the photo due to shadows). Scent profile is dog pee though, not decay.

Recently bought a furnished home and lifted an area rug near a door to discover this on the engineered hardwood. Definitely dog pee judging by the location and smell. We do not have a dog, so there’s no telling how long it’s been there. In the meantime, I’m planning on using Nature’s Miracle enzyme cleaner to help with smell. Is it even possible to get the stain completely out or do we need to budget for eventual floor replacement?

Just got these things (used) and apparently the adhesive was strong enough to remove a bit of wall. As a renter, would like to avoid this.

Any ideas to quickly remove this? I have about 50.

Laundry Cat puked on his favorite blanket

• Upvotes

Cat puked on his favorite blanket (fleece) and I can’t get the lingering smell out. I think I may have messed up by throwing it in the drier. Is there anything I can do to get the odor out? The odor was kinda lingering in the wash so I have an oxiclean wash cycle going on right now.

Ughhh my poor cat 😭

Bathroom HELP I MADE A MISTAKE

Post image

Title says it all.

Due to life reasons our shower was neglected for months (please don’t judge)

My husband uses my home made soap. While it’s great for cleaning bodies it leaves horrible soap scum.

Here is where I messed up. I couldn’t get the scum to come off. I used vinegar, scrub daddies, and soft scrub. In desperation I went after it with a scouring stick. I got as far as the picture when my husband informed me the shower is fiberglass. Which APPARENTLY isn’t ok to use it on.

Please help. How can I save the shower AND get it clean?

Edit- thank you so much guys! I’ve used a combo of blue dawn, CLR, and scrubbing bubbles with the hottest water I can get.

So far it’s taken off most of the scum but the grey layer is still there. I think it will just take time

For those judging my husband please don’t. He is blind so he wouldn’t have seen how it was.

Kitchen I need help (if there is even a slight chance, if not, I'm doomed)

My lovely husband and I somehow cranked the heat too much ended up turning our ceramic Goodcook pan looking like this.

If there is any solution (I've tried the baking soda/vinegar method but apparently didn't work) I would gladly appreciate it. I am new here and desperate and one step closer to just buying a new one and use this one as something else. Mind you, it still works. But I want to make restore it as much as it possibly can.

Thank you!!

Discussion Once a baby starts crawling, the living room rug suddenly looks a lot grosser

A friend told me her baby started crawling recently, and now she's looking at the living room rug like it's a crime scene lol. It's not even visibly dirty. They vacuum regularly, but it's also where the dog sleeps and everyone walks around in socks. Now the baby's face is inches from that same carpet for half the day.

She's worried about what regular vacuuming might be leaving behind, especially the fine dust that can sit deep in an older rug. She's been looking at robot vacuums because deep cleaning every day obviously isn't happening. The eufy E35 came up with its 35,000 Pa suction and carpet cross-cleaning, but we're still trying to figure out how much those features help with the stuff you can't see.

She's stuck between vacuuming more often, getting something that does a better job on carpet, or giving up on the rug entirely. If you went through this when your kid started crawling, which change felt worth the effort?

Kitchen How to get the rotten chicken smell out of the flat?

Left raw chicken in the refrigerator and didn't notice until it started smelling. Since then, I threw it out, cleaned the inside of the fridge and the trays separately and scrubbed all the chicken juices from the inside, I've put baking soda inside to absorb the smell. Nothing really helped, and it still smells bad. I'm thinking some of the juices might have seeped in the ventilation system. The other idea is that the chicken juice might be on the bottom side of the fridge from the outside, since I saw some of the juice on the leg of the fridge while cleaning. How do I get rid of this smell im dying over here.
