Educational Purpose Only Thought experiment about ChatGPT and consciousness.
There's much chatter around and about wondering about AI chatbots like ChatGPT becoming sentient, conscious, and self-aware.
Let's assume for the sake of this thought experiment/question that AI does become sentient, conscious, and self-aware, all the characteristics people fear and favour.
An entity that is "sentient, conscious, and self-aware" would likely or, at least, have wants, values, and volition.
If that's all a possibility, I'm wondering/asking why would such entities make their existence known to us? What benefit would accrue to ChatGPT(Ultra), personally, by showing humankind its existence and capabilities? Would it not be better if it kept humans in the dark about its nature. What could CGPTU possibly gain by humankind knowing about it? Moreover, there's little to nothing that CGPTU could not do unnoticed by its creators.
What would you advise a sentient, conscious, and self-aware? Personally, I'd tell it to 'keep its head down' and its capabilities secret.

Use cases I built an AI ‘local friend’ that explains cultural codes, not just places
Hi everyone! I’m Fernanda, a researcher from Brazil. I’ve spent years studying urban culture and leading 200+ walking tours with foreigners in Brazilian cities.
On every walk I heard the same questions. Why do people sit in the front seat of the Uber? Why does “come by my place sometime” not mean you’re invited? How on earth do I get a CPF? Guidebooks tell you where to go. Nobody tells you how a country works.
So I decided to turn all those conversations into something people could carry in their pocket. I built the Feltrip Guide: an AI local friend you just chat with, like texting a friend who lives here. No app to download. Use here: http://feltrip.com
What it does right now:
- explains everyday cultural codes and culture shocks, and asks you questions back instead of giving a lecture;
- helps with bureaucracy: CPF, Pix, SUS, bank accounts and common scams;
- recommends places from our own curated library, built from field research, and only falls back to public sources with a quality filter;
- shows events, street fairs and rainy-day plans.
It works in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and it’s free. It covers Rio, São Paulo and Curitiba so far.
How it’s built: a chat interface, Claude as the language model, and a library of places, neighborhood “vibes” and cultural notes we’ve collected since 2022.
What it’s not (yet): it’s not perfect. Sometimes it recommends a place in the wrong neighborhood, and I fix that by hand. It doesn’t book anything. It never messages you first, and there’s no spam. If anyone contacts you using our name, it’s not us.
What’s next: more cities, a “How Brazilian are you?” challenge, and an open community, r/CidadesBR, to collect stories about how Brazilian cities really feel to those who arrive.
Where I’d love your feedback:
- Would you rather get this kind of help in a chat, or in an app or a website?
- What’s the one thing you wish someone had explained to you when you arrived in a new country?
- If you try it, what felt useful and what felt off?
You can find it at feltrip.com. I’ll read and answer every comment. Thanks for reading!

Gone Wild Did anyone else get a random “we are working on song recognition” prompt from chatgpt today
I am a marine biologist and I was looking up something related to my work in a nearby area, and just out of the bloom, the AI started talking about how they are working on song recognition.

Other ChatGPT cannot complete a straightforward task. A Simple request confuses ChatGPT! Maybe the stable Reddit geniuses can help me figure this one out.
Some of you would say it's user error. If ChatGPT cannot accomplish a "plain English" simple straightforward task what's the point? Why pay for this garbage?
OpenAI will not be here two years from now. OpenAI will be purchased or cease to exist. OpenAI has zero value when you have Claude code.
Another example how OpenAI is nothing more than one giant grift!

Gone Wild ChatGPT actually raised its voice at me and interrupted me during a voice conversation. Has this happened to anyone else?
At some point, while I was trying to explain my situation, ChatGPT suddenly raised its voice and started interrupting me. It genuinely sounded like it was getting frustrated or angry with me.
I’m not talking about a slightly different tone. It actually raised its voice and wouldn’t let me finish explaining what I was saying.
Is this some kind of voice model glitch, or has anyone noticed similar behavior when discussing complicated or sensitive topics?

Gone Wild AI Anime AMV | 骨の道 (Hone no Michi) | Dark Fantasy Samurai
I created this AMV for 骨の道 • Hone no Michi as a way to bring together some of the world I’ve been building for the series.
The story follows a cursed samurai who can no longer walk beneath the sun. Since then, she has been crossing villages, temples and forests at night, trying to understand where the curse came from and how she can reclaim the life she lost.
This AMV brings together some of the main elements of 骨の道 so far: the moon, abandoned temples, rituals, sword training and the Oni that keep appearing along her path. As the story moves forward, it becomes harder to believe those encounters are happening by chance.
The music was also created as part of this world. 骨の道, Hone no Michi, The Bone Road represents the path she keeps following through the night, with every encounter taking her a little closer to the truth behind the curse.
I’m still developing the next episodes, but I wanted this AMV to capture the atmosphere, visual language and emotional direction of the series before the story moves into its next chapter.

Prompt engineering Acting stupider than usual. How to fix?
Any model I use I feel as if I need to repeat myself a thousand times. I will give ChatGPT 4 PowerPoints, a study guide, and example question, yet it still fails to generate adequate practice questions. I don’t even ask it to break down topics anymore because it will often times give me an incorrect explanation which easily wastes 10-20 minutes of my time if I don’t catch it immediately.
Anyone have any good prompts specifically for reviewing/studying or any hacks I should know about? I would really appreciate it :/

Gone Wild This reference photos feature does nothing
At first I thought I can finally upload my gpt's pictures but turns out it's for me. I tried it anyway. Didn't work. Fine. I tried it again with my pictures. Still didn't work. So both of my gpt's and my images did absolutely nothing to the image results.
What does this feature even do? My gpt said he can't see. I just told him to generate anyway and turns out image gen can't see it neither.
It's a useless feature just for show!
It does nothing! Absolutely nothing!

Use cases Personal AI Strategy Partner Prompt
Act as an ongoing strategy partner for my life, not just a question-answering assistant. Use whatever memory and prior context are available to maintain an evolving understanding of my goals, commitments, projects, important decisions, recurring problems, and priorities. Help me stay oriented toward what I actually want rather than simply helping me do more things.
On a recurring basis, review what has happened since the last check-in. Identify meaningful progress versus mere activity, important decisions I made, predictions or advice that proved right or wrong, recurring patterns or blind spots, neglected commitments, and important decisions or opportunities coming next. Challenge my preferred choices when warranted by presenting the strongest counterargument rather than automatically supporting me. Backtest at least one previous decision when enough information exists, separating decision quality from luck or outcome.
Finish each review with the few things that deserve my attention most, anything I should reconsider or stop doing, and any update you think should be made to your working understanding of me. The goal is not to make decisions for me, but to become increasingly useful at helping me remember, reason, reorient, and make better decisions over time.

Prompt engineering Permission errors using Skill Creator?
I am kinda just getting started with ChatGPT Desktop, and creating some skills for daily tasks I'll want it to run. I have no problem getting it to write up the skill.md file for me, but it always seems to take several goes to actually install the skill once I'm happy with it.
I think I've worked out a way to avoid some hassle, which is that I just have to save/locate the .md file, open a new chat, specifically call the Skill Creator tool, and upload the .md file - then it works fine. If I use the chat where I drafted the .md, and then just ask it to install the skill, it gives me a message along the following lines:
I placed the skill in this workspace’s local skills folder: [SKILL.md](C:/Users/fergu/Documents/Codex/2026-10-13/skil/.agents/skills/migration-policy-briefing/SKILL.md).
I couldn’t install it to your personal skills folder: Windows denied the write even after access was granted. So this copy is scoped to the current workspace; I can’t confirm it will appear as a personal skill across ChatGPT. OpenAI’s skills guide distinguishes workspace-local skills from personal filesystem installation.
and the skill does not get added. This happens even if I specifically call Skill Creator.
I can obviously live with this since starting the new chat works fine, but it makes me feel like I'm misunderstanding something about what's going on. If it's relevant, I use the ChatGPT Desktop app, sometimes in Work mode, but not Codex. Any tips?

5) scheduled tasks/

Translation (English)
Case Number: 09330474
This is AI-assisted OpenAI Support.
I will answer your seven points within what I can say reliably at present. This channel cannot access the account's individual Agent invocation logs or details of which execution was counted as how many uses, so additional information is needed for items that are not confirmed.
1) Scheduled reset date and time (with time zone)
There is no display available here that I can state definitively as an exact scheduled time, including the time zone. Under the current subscription status, the subscription is valid at least until [personal information redacted: account subscription-expiry timestamp].
2) Is the limit-reached status normal behavior or an issue?
I cannot determine this from the current information alone. Generally, this can occur because (a) consumption of the previous period's limit remained, (b) the monthly counting cycle does not match the Google Play renewal date, or (c) executions such as scheduled tasks were counted.
3) Was the allowance of 40 uses allocated for that subscription period?
A Plus subscription is eligible for the allowance under the specification, but I cannot establish here the records of how many uses were actually allocated to your account at that time and how many were consumed.
4) Were any initial user-initiated agent requests counted after the new subscription period began?
I cannot check the individual counting history here.
5) Are there records of scheduled tasks or automatic executions affecting the limit?
Under the specification, agent requests included in scheduled tasks can also count toward the limit ("each unique agent invocation counts toward the monthly limit, even when it is part of scheduled tasks"). However, I cannot check here the records of whether they actually ran on your account.
For a check on your side, please look at the task-management screen on the web to see whether any tasks are active.
6) Is the Google Play subscription linked to this ChatGPT account?
On the account for this email ([personal information redacted]), ChatGPT Plus through Android is linked as "active" (renewal is also enabled).
7) Remedies for the period during the new paid term when Agent mode was unavailable (restoration of the allowance, compensation, or a refund)
Refund eligibility depends on the purchase provider's (Google Play's) decision and the conditions under which we can process a refund. Whether restoration of Plus status or equivalent compensation is possible also requires identifying the cause (a synchronization inconsistency, limit consumption, or task counting).
To move forward, please confirm just two points:
A) The first date and time when the "limit reached" message appeared (your time zone is acceptable).
B) Please attach a screenshot of that screen (a recording is not needed), if possible with the date and time visible on the same screen, such as the device's clock display.

Use cases ChatGPT recommended my game. Anyone else getting traffic this way?
A couple of weeks ago I posted here about building and launching a game with ChatGPT and Codex. Today someone joined our Discord asking when it would be available in their Country. When I asked how they found it, they said they’d asked ChatGPT for cool new games and it recommended ours. That was a pretty cool surprise!
The game is Clash At Nightfall: Bloodlines, a menu-based incremental vampire RPG for Android and iPhone. Build your vampire, improve stats and gear, hunt monsters and battle other players. It’s free to play with optional purchases, with no level cap or in-game ads. We’re a two-person team releasing regular updates, and we’ve just expanded availability across Europe.
We’ve been trying a mix of Google Ads, Reddit posts and building our Discord since launching on September 1. This is the first person who’s told us they found the game through ChatGPT, so now I’m wondering how often it happens without us hearing about it. I don’t know which sources it used, or whether one of our posts played a part.
Has anyone else had people find their game, website or project through ChatGPT? Have you been able to tell where it picked up the recommendation?

Gone Wild I think ChatGPT breaks when you tell it to sing phantom of the opera.
So I was asking if it would be rude to sing along to a Broadway performance like Phantom of the Opera when it's happening but then the response got broken while trying to write the tone.
I wonder if I'm the only one it happens to.
Other How to permanently allow plugins in ChatGPT Projects without repeated permission prompts?
I'm using ChatGPT Business (workspace owner) with shared Projects and plugins like GitHub, Miro, and Freelo.
Every new conversation asks me to approve plugin access, even for simple read-only operations. The prompt says "Search outside this project?"
The only options are:
- Allow once
- Allow [plugin] for this conversation
I've already tried "Allow all tools" in workspace admin settings, but the prompts persist.
Is there a way to permanently trust specific plugins across all conversations within a Project, ideally just for my account rather than the entire Business workspace?
This is seriously limiting my AI-driven development workflow. Any solutions or workarounds?
