This isn't true. How do we know it isn't true? Because back when they immigrated there were no applications. You just showed up and if you weren't literally flowing with disease, you got in.
Trump said it himself that his grandparents pretended to Swedish when they first arrived to USA. They refused to even speak German according to him to keep the lie going. I was being dramatic about calling it an application.
