Phone suddenly fixed itself?

I've had my phone for the past 7 years. It never worked properly, there was always something broken about it. It never saved pictures I took, didn't remember any app data and randomly crashed games. The good thing is about this, infinite storage! Anyways. As of January of this year, my phone kept randomly putting my volume to max, I had to manually turn it down to the point the volume button on my phone is almost inside of the phone. It took a while for it to connect my wired headphones, and the touch screen barely worked. The touch screen would either not let me drag things, only click, or only let me tap once ever few seconds, making typing hard.

This morning my phone started lagging HARD, so I thought it was best to restart it before going to bed. I woke up to it fully booted up. I logged in and saw a text message of a conformation key to a french website that I've never heard of - mind you, I don't speak fluent French. I don't know who took control of my phone, because they did leave a trace in my browser that they were on said website, but who ever was on my phone, you fixed my issues! I can easily type again and my volume button works again!!

What is the best way to find a 4k TV under $350 in 2026

• Upvotes

I'm in the market for a 4k TV with at least HDR10 support, preferably Dolby Vision as well, for under $350 but would prefer something closer to $200 if possible. I know this is a pretty low budget right now, especially in terms of brightness, but I would like to upgrade some of my setup from an old 1080p TV to 4k. I am making this post so that I can see what the people in this sub will recommend with this budget.

The TV would mainly be used for watching movies, but would also get a lot of gaming use as well with possibly some sports content every know and then.

Amazon, Walmart, and Costco would be my preferred vendors, but if other sellers get recommended, I'll probably check them out. I would prefer to stay away from Facebook Marketplace as well, so please do not recommend me to look there as I already have previously and prefer sticking to the already listed sellers.

I really am not too bothered about the brand or on-board OS, as long as it is not LG, because I am currently using an Apple TV 4k to stream all of my content from a few streaming services as well as my Jellyfin server.

How do you spoof your location? (with or without a vpn)

• Upvotes

A tf2 server i frequent usually tells you where someone joined from (i.e XXX has joined from Russia!)

I wonder if it’s possible to trick it into saying you joined from a funny country (North Korea) or a territory (like Falkland Islands or Norfolk Island). do I need a VPN or can I change something in my computer so it thinks I’m there

Earbud Recommendations

I'm starting a new job as a real estate agent in New York City and looking to invest in a high-quality pair of wireless earbuds. I need to get new earbuds that will allow me to make phone calls while walking the streets without having any noise interference on either end. Ideally, I'd like to hear callers clearly while also minimizing traffic, wind and other city noise on their end. I'll be wearing them for hours throughout the day, so they need to be comfortable. I also listen to music very often while commuting—sound quality is also a priority. I use an iPhone, and my budget is flexible for something reliable and high-quality.

I'm currently considering the AirPods Pro 3 and Sony WF-1000XM6, but I'm open to other recommendations. Which earbuds would you recommend, specifically in terms of microphone quality, comfort and sound quality?

Laptop recommendations

I'm thinking of getting a laptop to run linux almost perfectly as a spare thats no more expensive than maybe €400, just for general practice for anything networks related or cybersecurity i.e like firewalls, TCP/IP all that stuff.

What laptop you think would suit just to have linux but not lacking a lot for specs?

Desktop CD player only burns some songs

Hey all, I have a HP Z 640 desktop with Win 10, ran a diagnostic to update driver's and re-started. I very seldom use the CD but here's the problem: When burning a CD, using Windows Media Player, for my original songs that are in wav format, it will only burn the first 2. The disc is new, the songs play in my DAW and through another app,VLC just fine but can't figure this one out.Other post's have suggested to just buy an external burner and be done with it.Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

Are there any cheap speakers where two of them can connect to the same source of playback, similiar to Sonos?

I would love a Sonos setup but as a single parent I just can't afford it.

But I would love a speaker for each of the kids bedrooms where I can play the same music at the same time. Is there any cheap options?

Doesn't have to be very loud speakers, it's mostly bedtime music. Bonus points if they have some ambient light.

Laptop problem, asking if I should continue using it.

Hello! I have a laptop that doesn't charge anymore and only works(turns on) when it is plugged. Should I stop using it before I get it repaired? I don't really have any replacements for it because I'm a poor college student, thank you for whoever may answer.

What counts as credible testing for consumer exoskeletons?

The usual marketing materials for consumer exoskeletons don't always make it easy to tell how reliable the performance claims really are. Independent testing sounds more useful, but I'm not always sure what actually counts as meaningful third-party recognition. For example, I'd want to know who tested it, whether they tested the product people can actually buy, and whether the results reflect normal use. When comparing consumer exoskeleton brands, what kind of third-party evidence would you actually trust?
