i’ve seen it in the amazon app when ordering packages. it’ll show you the first name and pic of the delivery person under the tracking info

u/Whathefrenchtoastt Jun 25 '26
Strange I've never noticed that. Is that just for flex drivers though?
1
u/nomadgurl Jun 25 '26
No idea. It doesn’t appear all of the time when I’m getting a package, so maybe it is only for flex drivers?

Yep, I have had two different customers call me by name. The first time I was shocked because main road to their building was closed for construction so I had to detour to an alley, the person came out and called my name as I was looking for the correct address and said oh the app shows your car is still moving.

I thought I was the only one weirded out by that. It’s really unsettling and uncomfortable.

I saw it today! A customer showed me his side, they can track us and see our profile. He apparently saw me walking across the apartment building. As it was all one floor and his was apt 301 so it was a lil bit of a walk. Horrifying. Especially as I took the photo before bed not knowing you couldn’t change it or change it easily.

lol have you ever ordered a package from Amazon ? It literally shows a picture and says the name of the driver and shows exactly where the car is as you pull into their neighborhood . I never thought anything of it , anytime I order a package it tells me that Info so I assumed it did the same for me when I deliver , who cares lol

u/MamaBear1990_ Jun 26 '26
Also you literally deliver in your vehicle with your license plate .your first name and photo is the last thing you need to worry about .. if it was a real weirdo they would be using your license plate to find where you live . lol

Well my thing is using pim eyes to reverse search my photo. It worked and showed my address and phone number that’s why I asked for it to be removed.
1
u/Swingatesamanti Jul 02 '26
Yeah I have heard of a few ladies being stalked because they show name and face and reverse search photos to get addresses and I thought that was insane!

u/LimpDisc Jun 25 '26
This has been posted dozens of times. Amazon is known to either actually not do it or put the picture back shortly after removal.
FYI… Amazon views this as a safety feature for drivers. It notifies customers who will be on their property and when.

u/Swingatesamanti Jul 02 '26
This is a safety feature for us not to have it up, I haven’t had any issues since removal, before especially on Amazon fresh runs I would have people call me by my first name and that wasn’t okay. It’s been removed since, at least for me
1
u/LimpDisc Jul 02 '26
And you won’t know it’s back up unless you ask customers.
4+ years doing and not a single customer has called me by name.

u/EstablishmentOld8111 Jun 25 '26
How did you do it ?
3
u/nomadgurl Jun 25 '26
email support and let them know you’d like to opt out of sharing that info. at least that’s how i did it a couple of years back

Im a guy but I've had cases where people tell me the photo and calling by my name helped especially during whole foods runs.
1
u/Swingatesamanti Jul 02 '26
It may but as ladies, if our photo is reverse searched by a weirdo we can’t even take it to the police to report stalking if we don’t have their name. We deliver to so many places and Pim Eyes will deliver our social media as well as phone numbers and address from the name. That has happened so as a girl mom of two teen ladies, I am very cautious!

u/Long-Preparation2267 Jul 02 '26
For that sake, I hope Amazon removed your name and photo! Stay safe. This job isn't worth our lives.

I have been so hesitant to do this. In my surrounding area we have had people be shot by homeowners in the past for being strangers on their property. It’s a double edged sword for me. I ask to remove my name and photo and risk a homeowner thinking I’m not supposed to be there and risk my life. On the other hand I risk a creep waiting for me to deliver his package outside just so he can take his shot with me (which has happened). Either way at the end of the day flex does not pay enough and we are all just trying to get by 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Seems like a easy case for some easy money. This is why you wear your vest so if you do get shot. Your getting a fat check coming in the mail

u/nomadgurl Jun 25 '26
did this in 2024. didn’t realize it was a thing until two separate customers called me by my name and one showed me the picture of me in the app. absolutely not!
1
u/aSparkOfKindness Jun 25 '26
Um what!? 😂😂😂 They have been seeing my pic? That I took in front of the shower curtain? (I just started a few months ago)
2
u/Swingatesamanti Jul 02 '26
Yes, as soon as you can ask, the problem is when they reverse search a photo with first name and find socials and other sensitive info like email address and phone number. It’s scary but it’s happened. Stay safe mamas ❤️

Doesn’t work. Delivered to myself once and my friend and it showed my picture and name both times, even checked through emails to make sure they confirmed it wasn’t showing. I gave up.
1
u/Swingatesamanti Jul 02 '26
I’ll send you what I asked for because it did work for me but u just need to block my sensitive info first
1
u/thr0wawayyxlol Jul 02 '26
Yeah they told me the same thing and confirmed it was taken off. Two different times. And it wasn’t. Along with many others here

lol who cares . You literally deliver packages in your own vehicle , if a weirdo was worried about you it wouldn’t be your first name and photo he would be tracking , it would be your car and your license plate which would guide him to your home , lol just saying you should be more worried about your car then the info Amazon provides
1
u/Swingatesamanti Jul 02 '26
Some people don’t mind, others like me do. Only cops can track ur license plate down but anyone can reverse search your photo. Just Stay safe mamas ❤️

So, ive done this twice and got the same message....a couple days ago, delivering something and person says Thanks (my name), been waiting on these. I responded with all good, have a nice day. And became furious the rest of my route that amazon lied as usual. This was a WF delivery when it happened. Maybe they are excluded or the privacy thing falls off after updates.
