This is insane work. How'd you get the beads on the warp? I'm not familiar with finger weaving.

This is like art gallery worthy.

Thank you much, this is a big compliment!! I would love to do my own exhibitions one day, I have the ambition to go to art school and work very hard to make it happen. For the beads it’s very simple lol I just grab the end of the thread and put the bead in it. If you want to frame a pattern with beads you gotta put them on the threads that do around the pattern and that’s about it! Fingerweaving is very important in my culture so it’s very meaningful for me to do it. If you have any other questions I will be happy to answer!

The theme for this one is ‘The Rainbow in the Storm’. I’d had a ball of yarn from the Québec company Artfil for quite some time, in a colour called ‘Thunder Rose’. I was wondering how to use it, and that’s when the idea for this sash came to me! I was aiming for a chaotic, multi-faceted effect that captures the idea of a rainbow during a storm, fading whilst still retaining a very luminous appearance, so I used grey speckled with pink. I also used more beads than usual, with a wider variety of colours in the beads.

It was a technical challenge particularly when it came to getting the colour gradients right. I had also never made anything as big as seven arrowheads using sock yarn before, so I’m really pleased I managed to finish it still in a month!

Truly wonderful work. Both celebratory and, with the beading, elegant.

Incredible work! I'd expect to see this kind of thing in an art gallery or museum. You should ask around and see if anyone has space and interest in one of your pieces! Start local, there's always an appeal to the 'local artist' angle for galleries especially

Thank you!! I am part of my local fingerweaving guild and we do an exhibition every year so this is definitely a lot of fun. Also Québec is very tight knit when it comes to arts so I think with the years I will make more connections… It’s only been a little over a year that I fingerweave so I am still a baby artist in my community. So, the future is exciting!!
