Help Converting pattern?

Hey all, I have a pattern for a baby blanket that I want to weaveand it calls for 8/2 yarn on a 12 dent sleyed 1-2 for 18 epi.

I only have 8/4 yarn, is there a way to convert this pattern in a way that I can still use the 8/4 yarn and get the same finish? Or am I stuck having to get more yarn?

Thanks!

You can just decrease your epi, and decrease the number of ends to match the width. But you will have a completely different cloth in the end.

If you use a different yarn, you're going to get a different result. You can, of course, work out a design for something that is inspired by the pattern with a different look, which may or may not be a nice result.

If it calls for 18 epi with 8/2 cotton, you should aim for 10-12 epi. How wide was the original project? You're going to end up with a wider piece unless you alter the pattern.

The original project finishes at 24x37 for the small one, and 36x37 for the larger one, but my loom is max 15 3/4" wide so I'd have to do two strips and sew together.

Something that is 24" wide when the sett is 18 EPI will have a width of 36" at 12 EPI or 43" at 10 EPI - which is just a little bit more than twice what you can do on 15 3/4" wide loom.

Is it a repeating pattern across the threading? If so, you might consider not doing all the repeats so you need only two pannels.

Its just a simple twill, I should have added the pattern in my original post, it's the Echo Baby Blanket on the Gist Yarn website https://www.gistyarn.com/blogs/journal/echo-baby-blanket?srsltid=AU7gw4VM-1K-5Iic09zwuCLU2LZXzPDg74U04dxYCTuvXZlSWy_VI0EW

Edit: I read it wrong, poster below me is correct, it's plain weave

That pattern says it's plain weave (which is what the pictures show), not twill. Since the warp is all one color and it is just plain weave, you can just make it as wide as you'd like on your loom.
