Finished Project My first tablet weaving projects!

I'm very new to this craft but I started weaving some simple belts that I can use in my costumes and I'm really enjoying the process, currently working on my 4th one😊

I used patterns from the "tablet weaving in theory and practice" website and a free pattern from svetlonoska_weaving on Instagram

Also experimenting with different types of yarn, my first one was made with mercerised cotton, the second two with naturally dyed wool and the one that's currently on my loom uses a silk/bamboo blend!

Is there anyway you can post a picture of the pattern? Not all of us have Instagram and Instagram is very proprietary with their posts. They won’t even let me see it.

I hope this will do! Hereby also the additional information the designer put in the caption:

"It is woven on 16 tablets. You need 20 dark areen, 6 light green, 10 pink, 2 purple and 26 white threads. You turn all tablets in the same direction. If you use a setup that makes it hard to deal with twist buildup, try to reverse the turning direction (of all tablets at once) in regular distances to gradually cancel it out."

Thank you so much. I’m making a belt with D rings and everything and this is the perfect design for that. It’s gonna be so cute. 🥰

Yay! Beautiful! How many holes in the tablets you used?

All the patterns I've made so far use 4 holes. It honestly didn't occurred to me that you could use a different amount haha!

This looks so fun! Which loom are you using?

I made my own inkle loom! I can remove the left side panel so I can easily add my warp threads. There is also an extra bar for heddles if I ever feel like some normal weaving but the tablet really won me over haha!

So cool that you made your own loom! Talented and excellent color choices. Well done.

These are really lovely. Tablet weaving scares me. I love weaving on my Inkle loom just can’t brave tablets.

Genuinely, what's the worst that can happen? Start small (both length of band and complexity of pattern) but at worst you will discover that this isn't a craft you're interested in pursuing. At best, you'll open up a whole new world.

We don't have enough information to weave yet. The setup for the tablets, A-D position and turning direction are missing.
