Work in Progress Second warp ever! Made it WAY longer than I meant to, but twill tartan plaid!
VERY excited with how it’s coming out so far. Truly had no idea what I was doing and just winging it. There’s one spot in the middle where I put double the threads in one dent of the reed but I think it will come out in the wash. And there’s ONE spot where I threaded 12334 instead of 1234 I don’t really know how to fix it and don’t know if it’s noticeable enough to fix at this point!

Gorgeous colours together, this is beautiful. I didn't realize at first that the Baillie tartan skips every third orange-stripe-in-the-blue-part and I was like 'oh no who is going to tell them' but IT LOOKS GREAT! It's going to be so soft.

Bahahaha there are so many variations of the baillie tartan I just picked one I liked the best and the colors I had I mostly just wanted a plaid. Thank you so much! It already is sooooo soft I can’t wait

Thanks! I love the floating selvedge idea. Not sure why there’s not one on every warp!

Your selvedges are beautiful and your beat is impressively even, as well. Great job! What's the sett?

Thank you! Again I don’t really know what I’m doing just kind of guessing no one has ever shown me how. Just watched Jane Stafford videos! It’s 20 EPI/20 ppi. I think that’s sett right? 😂 she typically recommends less epi/ppi than most patterns for an easier beat and a more drapey fabric.

Yes, 20 EPI is the sett. Jane Stafford has a wonderful reputation as a teacher and well-deserved. Twills drape naturally due to the weave structure and are often sett closer than plain weave fabrics. My guess is that this cloth will have a great hand when wet finished. What do you plan to use it for?

I know she does her plain weave with 8/2 at 18 epi which most places recommend 20 epi. And I think most places recommend 22-24 for 8/2 cotton twill. I’m making two matching scarves!!

That’s amazing!! It looks so even!

Thanks! No idea what I’m doing to make it even! But I think it might be the way Jane weaves? I truly have no clue
