Self-promotion I made a retro horror visual novel inspired by early-2000s Japanese sound novels — Take My Skin (free)
I just released Take My Skin, a short psychological horror visual novel made in Ren’Py.
Haimori, rural Japan, autumn 2006. Tenji is the only cop on the night shift in a village swallowed by the forest. An American teacher has gone missing, and the village doctor hasn’t been seen in months.
It’s heavily inspired by early-2000s Japanese sound novels like The Noose: full-screen NVL text over dark, grainy, flashlight-lit photos, no sprites and no choices.
Details: ~1h30 of reading · English, French and Brazilian Portuguese · Japanese voice acting · Free · Windows, macOS and Linux
Content warning: gore, body horror, suicide, depression, flashing images and sudden loud sounds.
If you’d like to translate it into your language, feel free to contact me on Instagram (@yassdevs).
Feedback is very welcome, especially on pacing and the UI!

Release Tsukikage no Simulacre: Kaihou no Hane – English Translation Patch (All-Ages Version)
I've made an English translation patch for the all-ages version of Tsukikage no Simulacre: Kaihou no Hane, and I'd like to share it with the community!
It's been seven years since this game was released on Steam, yet I couldn't find any English translation for it. So I decided to make one myself using GPT-6 Astra , which has pretty impressive translation capabilities. I've also personally reviewed most of the translated text and made some manual corrections and adjustments where needed. However, I may have missed some errors or awkward phrasing along the way.
Installation Instructions:
Find the patch from general discussion in steam community of the game
Set the game's text language to Simplified Chinese.
Extract patch3.xp3 and patch2.xp3 from the ZIP file into the game's root directory (where the game executable is located).
Launch the game and enjoy!
This patch is currently intended for the all-ages version only.
Most of the game's UI elements are image-based, so they haven't been translated for now.
If you're using the adult patch, the game should still launch without errors, but the adult exclusive content will remain in its original language.

Question Looking an eroge Jrpg in an Isekai fantasy world
Hi,
I'm looking for a VN in an Isekai fantasy world. It can also just be a pure VN. Not necessarily a Jrpg.
Any recommendations?
Thanks.

Discussion Strange visual novels you enjoy reading
Lately I was going over the kind of works in the visual novel genre that have a weird vibe to them as they are interesting to read, but they often get overlooked.
For instance, I was looking to get into the Date A Live series as I hear it’s basically like a harem romance novel where one plot line revolves around two characters named Shido and Origami learning to raise a child as I don’t remember which installment it was from in the series, but I have been looking for the series online.

Discussion Are there any currently existing or upcoming Anime romance VNs in the style of Telltale games or Dispatch?
This kinda seems like a no brainer evolution of VNs, imo. A high production Anime galge/moege whatever in this format but with anime art style (Think high-quality 3D anime character models like in WUWA and ARKNIGHTS ENDFIELD etc). I think it would be so peak, no?
Like I'm not talking about persona or trails stuff which are rpgs with romance tacked on at the side with mostly gameplay, I mean total story games like these telltale games, Dispatch has some light gameplay but I would prefer not even that, like purely a telltale style experience but with routes for different waifus and stuff.
Am I onto something? Is this fire or dumb? Lmao
