Ubisoft Toronto has announced it's working on a full-scale remake of the original Splinter Cell, though we haven't seen anything of it in years now.
There's also Splinter Cell: Deathwatch on Netflix, which has since been renewed for a second season.

Deus Ex is seriously goated. I put it up there with all time greats like Dead Space, RE, Metal Gear and Wolfenstein etc…

Portal. Not overlooked, but kinda forgotten. Portal 3 would sit on top of any other narrative puzzle game easily just by being as good as Portal 2.

Timesplitters or Resistance.
Timesplitters 2 and Resistance: Fall of Man are two of my favourite games. Really underrated and unfairly overlooked franchises.

Prototype doesn’t get talked about much anymore and that’s a shame. Those games are very fun and have a really cool concept. I’d say it’s not on the exact same scale but inFamous is one of my favorite series and since it’s been a while since a game has come out I feel like it doesn’t have the same traction it once did.

u/EqualPlan4595 8h ago
You’d love control resonant because it’s just like those 2 you mentioned

Oh sweet! I loved the first game for similar reasons, unfortunately I’ll have to wait for the holidays when it goes on sale to get it. I’m very pumped to check it out though.

Man I miss InFamous so much

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines
Some of the combat was broken like in Deus Ex but VTMB had some of the best worldbuilding and dialogue options in any RPG to date.

I love Surviving Mars (a space city builder, by Paradox), I don't really see it much in strategy/city builder conversations.

Whoever the asshole was that decided Eidos Montreal should make Avengers instead of a new Deus Ex deserves to be fired and never allowed to work in games or business ever again

Style Savvy!
👗
Idc if its a girly game it was peak, especially with trendsetters on the 3DS. That game raised me as a girl. We need it back more than ever now that so many people on the internet are obsessed with micro trends and aesthetics in fashion. Oh, and i would love more collabs with real fashion brands too! The last couple of games in the franchise were very mediocre, so we need a good game.
I'd also love to get some other DS classics like Nintendogs/cats.
Why we haven't gotten a new game is a mystery to me considering the switch 1 and 2 are portable and so many of the games on those consoles are trying to nostalgiabait with retro franchises. Plus with updated graphics I think the dogs could look super fluffy and realistic now.

Titanfall, I only played the second one, I understand the first was multiplayer only, but Titanfall 2 is such a great game.

Twisted metal

Sony has cancelled a reboot of Twisted Metal twice this generation, unfortunately.

For me that would be Splinter Cell. I know Sam is old but they could either remake the series and start from the beginning or add new echelon agents. We had Archer and Kestrel at one point and we know there are other agents. Although if they bring it back I’d like for it to be more chaos theory coated.
1
u/AnotherBoringDad 4h ago
Chaos Theory was amazing. Double Agent was underwhelming. Conviction was fun, but off-brand.
And they never made another Splinter Cell game.

u/oneofyallfarted 4h ago
They have Blacklist if you haven’t heard or tried that one. It’s good and the game with the most customizable options when it comes to gear. Not as good as CT but still immersive and good. It was the last installment of the franchise and it’s for ps3 and xbox360.
Have you tried ghost recon Wildlands? You can use cosmetic skins from splinter cell characters. There’s also a mission that involves the legendary Sam himself and you have to help him out.

Deus Ex and the Dishonored series are absolute classics. I'm sad that both of them have been forgotten. Dishonored had the potential to be a flagship series because of it's setting. Both games showed other countries and continents that had potential to be explored.

u/Respawn-Delay 26m ago
Sadly Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider didn't sell all that well following the success of the original.

Deus Ex Human Revolution is on sale for 2 bucks on the Xbox store. In case you want to stop scrolling.

Probably A Plague Tale Innocence. One of my all time favourites, still not known much I think.

Starlancer and Freelancer. Freelancer was incredible and deserved to be iterated on. Nothing since has scratched that itch. Elite Dangerous is too much busywork. Star Citizen is too much bullshit.

The order 1886 conceptually had franchise potential, but no one bothered to make sure ready at dawn and was putting in enough gameplay

u/ItsNotAGundam 2h ago
Red Faction
Timesplitters
Deus Ex
System Shock
I genuinely can't decide which I like most between these four. They're all so good.

Not enough space.
However, there are games which should not get any kind of sequel, spin-off whatever.
Folklore on PS3 for example. It was a great exclusive title and doesn't need one.
Heavenly Sword also on PS3 is a great game and thanks to the heaven that it never got any spin-off or sequel neither.
Some games are complete as they are.

Bulletstorm. One of the best if not The Best. Only one game. Got a remaster with New Game Plus and a Duke Nukem stand in campaign. Plus a VR port which feels like it took off some of the story, though added a bit of a new feel with different gameplay (kinda like the Resident Evil 3 remake).

I'm always going to be annoyed Adam Jensen's story didn't get a proper ending.
