I played through Innocence and Requiem back-to-back in two weeks. I was crying for days after the Requiem ending. It's not even an exaggeration. I remember bicycling to work a few days after and the tears were just streaming. I felt hollow for weeks afterwards. Damn, that game.
I beat Innocence years ago, but I cannot finish requiem. Every time you think things are getting better, something even more intense and brutal happens.
The reopening, continuously traumatizing head injury is probably the only time I've genuinely feared for the mortality of the main character, even though I know she has to keep on until the end of the game. It's so well done and feels a bit too real for me. I keep needing a break.
I played both games with a pretty good time gap in between and I just remember having hope for Hugo and things we're going to be ok and cool but NOPE! I could even turn on my Playstation for a month because I just didn't know what to do with myself
