If Miyazaki speaks, I listen. If Miyazaki gives his opinion, I agree. If Miyazaki appreciates, I appreciate…

Dude makes the prettiest woman ever then has her wear an oversized crystal helmet to hide her entire head

Miyazaki says "More poison swamps"

9

u/Gary-LazerEyes Sep 02 '26

I hate poison swamps. And yet, Michael Zaki could announce a game that is just one giant poison swamp and I'd cum

"The game testers kept complaining that it was too hard, so I made it harder."

Otogi Myth of Demons my beloved

1

u/Arnold_Polymer Aug 29 '26

CHROMEHOUNDS was a masterpiece. While it lasted.

6

u/t3hdoct0r Aug 30 '26

I wish Armored Core got more love.

3

u/Chadderbug123 Aug 31 '26

Still gets its love, its just that mecha stuff is niche nowadays. Thus its falloff near the tailend of PS3, not just the massive shift to focus on the souls projects.

Everything they do fucking slaps.

So excited for that Sekiro anime.

Tbh, I see little reason to separate the souls/ring games. The only game that’s kinda different is sekuro, but it slaps. Ironically the only souls game that’s kinda mid is 2, and by normal standards the game is actually pretty good, just not as good as 1, nowhere near 3 (imo the best souls game). But even if it’s not my favorite, blood borne is a masterpiece, same with Elden ring. I have little to no experience with sekiro, but I know it’s good.

1

u/RetiredProTour Aug 30 '26

Armored core!?

1

u/Astolvi Aug 31 '26

Even Nightreign? It was mid as hell :P

-5

u/Playing_One_Handed Aug 29 '26

Nah, eldin ring annoyed a few but got a pass, but the recent PvP games pissing people off.

8

u/Adder_Noir Aug 29 '26

Is it though?

-4

u/Playing_One_Handed Aug 29 '26

Yes.

The slow exploration of the world and story telling through enviroment was a huge part. People tried

The 2 newest games are rush modes. Its really diminishing the whole "exploration" part.

6

u/Adder_Noir Aug 29 '26

I think I’ll defer to the people who have actually played Duskbloods and they’re giving a very different account to what you are

0

u/Playing_One_Handed Aug 29 '26

Sure. But realise most of the people avoiding it because its not what they like about dark souls wont be in that category. That is the point of this thread.

1

u/Adder_Noir Aug 29 '26

That literally makes no sense. Dark Souls and The Duskbloods are not the same franchise. Why would the expectation be for them to be the same?! By that logic Fable deserves criticism for not having any similarity to Forza (they are from the same studio after all)

2

u/Playing_One_Handed Aug 29 '26

Look at what you are replying too... they said fromsoft...

3

u/Adder_Noir Aug 29 '26

They’re quite clearly talking about consistency, NOT game design. You’re conflating the two

2

u/Playing_One_Handed Aug 29 '26

Look at its metacritic score...

Lots of people are seeing fromsofts downfall.

Yep and you can still replay those games and still have a great time. They’re about longevity, not “shit I beat this, what’s next????” Game development is super in depth, and they tried something different with Nightreign. I have no idea anything about Duskbloods, but obviously that’s not their Flagship game.

-2

u/IslamVSZionism Aug 30 '26

Incorrect. Nightreign ain't all that.

-8

u/Tr3v0r007 Aug 29 '26

Mostly yes. The one on switch tho I've heard had been debated. To add elden rings dlc story was uh… odd. Overall tho I agree!

9

u/Dimblo273 Aug 29 '26

Elden ring dlc was phenomenal

-4

u/Tr3v0r007 Aug 29 '26

As a wholeyes but the relationship between the brothers was a little too “intimate”

4

u/Mags_LaFayette Aug 30 '26

Says the guy who doesn't know the many definitions of the word "consort"

2

u/Deviathan Aug 30 '26

"The one on switch", Duskbloods, isn't even out yet.
