I was there day 1 on ps2 playing the original. I still remember after years of owning it, I hooked it up via ethernet to play online and the fucking servers closed down a few hours later.
I started at 4U. sometimes I feel like "geez you kids have no idea how good you had it" at times. then again 4U was streamlined from Tri, 3U, etc... so I cant say it that much.
yeah I remember being pissed at Generations Ultimate monsters going in the water... and staying there. it was very annoying. I dint remember if 4U did because if they did it was very rare.
It started as your typical sweaty game for Asian try hard audience and as it got more popular it was getting enough polish to cater towards casual international consumer while still,to a degree, being able to keep the sweats interested.
World catapulted the series into mainstream but o still enjoy the bulshit Dos does.
I revisited this week. While I cannot comment on their greediness on steam review atm, and the dlc story. My base recommended requirement pc can run it very smoothly, it feels 10x better than when the game first came out, without frame Gen too.
Legit the only games I get day one and the DLCs too and I've never regretted it. They've given me thousands of hours and they're back to back amazing games. What I like about the franchise is that there really are no bad games, they all have their own things going and do better or worse in some aspects, but you can't really say that there is a bad monster hunter game. Absolute peak, can't wait to get to 1k hours in wilds DLC
nah, since World Capcom is making half assed 1.0 versions that they patch later and descirbe it as "wohoo free updates that expand the game" while in reality they are adding content that was missing on release. Wilds launched without a final boss rematch and multiplayer hub, for fucks sake... MH2Dos (a game without an expansion) on PS2 had more content/better and more meaningful progression than that game
imo modern MH is often like 2 steps forward, 2 steps back. more steps back at times. sometimes more steps forward (mostly in the expansions)
I was thinking of series I'd played and couldn't come up with one. But seeing your comment and remembering all the mh games ive played and dabbled in makes me realize yes MH fits this description the post is asking for.
Don’t go on rambling if you’ve no idea what you’re talking about.
On the 3DS, you’ve only got a crippled joystick and even with the extension, the second one is crippled too. That aside, you’ve obviously never played the first two MH games.
No, it isn’t; it’s the truth. Unlike Worlds and Wilds, Rise has a identity and doesn’t try to strike some sort of balance between an arcade game and an immersive RPG. The mechanics involving the rope beetles and the faster-paced gameplay are great fun. What’s more, it’s got more content, a more enjoyable level of difficulty, and it’s not that kindergarten crap like wilds and worlds and: the game runs smoothly.
Wilds, in particular, is for Gen Z children with ADHD who don’t know what they want.
The gameplay of rise is extremely good, but that doesn't mean other games are bad
It's got as much content as world iceborne
"More enjoyable difficulty" you mean easy as shit for the whole base game and actually challenging in sunbreak?
"The game runs smoothly" yes because it looks like shit (I love the art direction but graphically it's still a switch game)
Wilds is very flawed, but definitely not a bad game.
"Gen Z with ADHD" applies more to rise than any other mh game. You start a quest, get to the monster in ten seconds, fight non-stop until he dies. Other games take it slower
I dont say the others Gameplay is bad because of rise?
Rise has more content than worlds
Worlds is in total easy shit. Rise base game has good lategame challenges + sunbreak and worlds has nothing
The graphic of rise was ok. I’d rather have only ‘decent graphics’ but a stable 120fps at 4K than 30fps with drops at 1080p and pixelated graphics because the game is so bloated that the VRAM overflows, just like in Wilds.Worlds was also pretty dreadful in terms of performance at launch.
As I said, Rise has its own identity. You get exactly what the game sets out to be.
